Ireland are indeed on a completely different level right now, and they've got Italy in the middle, whereas Scots travel to Paris before getting the Irish at Murrayfield. Certainly not an easy time ahead, but perhaps some bit of positive to have broken up France and Ireland in between the break weeks.

In a game that was somehow chaotic and boring at the same time, Wales gave up their first ever halftime lead in the six nations (at Twickenham), only to lose the match at the death.

Up 14-5 at the break, Wales scored exactly nothing in the second half, and struggled against a team that was down to 13 at one point, with two separate yellow cards keeping England neutered in the first half.

Penalty controversy aside, it was a battle of the bland vs the green, where Borthwick’s full fundamentals just about scraped through for England in the second half.

Meanwhile Wales are 0 from 2. Close losses each time, and there’s room for growth in Warren Gatland’s young side, but they won’t be winning the six nations this year.

England are still very much in the fight, having scraped their way to two wins from two. Interestingly though, this was the first home victory of the tournament, which takes the pressure off Italy when they face Ireland tomorrow.

England will see Scotland at Murrayfield in two weeks, while Wales will travel to Dublin, hopefully promising a little more entertainment than this week’s offerings.

A win’s a win, but England could’ve made it a bit more exciting.
