The great educationist, Mrs. Y.G. Parthasarathy is no more with us 😔😔

A doyen in the field of education,the passing away of 93 year old Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy,is the end of the era,according to we,PSBB students and teachers. Mrs. Y.G.P,as she was fondly called,founded PSBB in 1958. When it first began,she had merely 13 students who were taught under a thatched roof. The school placed emphasis on holistic learning and included yoga,meditation and reciting vedas as part of it's daily activities. Music and dance classes are part of the PSBB culture and the classes always begin with a traditional greeting of Shri gurubhyo namaha as opposed to the usually practiced 'Good morning.'

In an interview,Mrs. Y.G.P had said that she was initially ridiculed for what was thought to be an unconventional system. However,word-of-mouth reportedly brought more students and fame to the school. People were yearning for a platform that would give them the 'Indian touch' they needed.

They first said it would become more of a cultural centre than a school. The parents were so much used to the Anglo method of teaching and it took a while to grab their attention. But once they did,they emerged successful. The school is to be praised not only for the education provided,but also for the values it instills in the students. She is a titan ! And her blessings and wishes are surely with us,PSBB students and teachers forever !!!
