just imagine sparring with your f/o, and you best them fair and square. Instead of being fustrated that they failed, they look at you with admiration. They think its so cool- especially if your f/o is pretty powerful. They look up to you.

If you are weaker than your f/o, they'd offer to try and teach you to be stronger. As much as they enjoy helping you, they'll want you to be able to handle yourself too. Imagine them giving you lessons, and how they'd look at you fondly as they get distracted in the middle of teaching you because you're so concentrated.
