Encallar, capítulo 7. Escena extra (ENG)
Spoiler alert: Si no has leído el cap 7, détente aquí!
Jasha combed Kanon’s mane-like hair one last time before taking it all in one hand, the scissors waiting on a table beside the bed. “There’s a lot of damage.”
Kanon shrugged. Of course there was a lot of damage. Ever since he wasn’t allowed to look the way he wanted, he had stopped taking care of it. Years of neglect had turned his mane into a tangled web of chaos.
“Just chop it off.” He replied dismissively.
Charybdis’ hands moved to the ends of the Sea Dragon’s hair, eyeing the unruly locks warily. “Are you sure? It’s a lot.”
“Don’t care. Cut it.”
“Alright.”
The blond distracted himself by checking the notes both had been taking, occasionally glancing at his reflection in the mirror nearby, until realization struck like a lightning bolt.
“That’s… that’s too much, wait.” His hair length reached now just a few inches below his shoulders.
“I told you. Now stay still, I need to make it even.”
“Listen to me, Russian devil, if you cut more-”
“Just stay still and let me cut it, or cut it yourself.”
“The hell you’re getting close with those scissors again!”
“STAY STILL!”
“THAT’S TOO MUCH!”
#Encallar#Stranded#Saint Seiya fic#Zeuse in Atlantis#and Kanon never allowed Jasha to get close to his hair ever again XD

[Frequently Asked Questions]
May I draw whichever character I want? The purpose of this zine is to focus on Asgard/Bluegraad and Atlantis, so only characters that belong to these settings are allowed. There are more applicable characters than you think! Take a look here!
May I submit more than one work? Yes, you can participate with a maximum of two (2) fanworks of different characters, but we’ll confirm case-by-case after the sign-up period is over.
May I include other characters in my submission? Yes, as long as they belong to Asgard/Bluegraad/Atlantis and there is a clear hierarchy where your chosen character is the main focus. Original Characters (OCs) may also be included as long as they follow this guideline. There is no problem if those secondary characters are already taken, or if the mix of characters would not make sense in the official material (for example, Alexer interacting with Hilda).
Which Original Characters (OCs) are applicable? If you have an OC that is a Marina, a God Warrior, an Asgardian/Bluegraadian (in general), or serves under Poseidon (in general), they are welcomed in the zine. However, Saints, Specters, or members of any other factions in Saint Seiya cannot be included.
Saga, Hyoga, Aiolia and Camus can be referred to, but not appear in the fanwork. For example: ✅ Isaak looking at a picture of Camus / Isaak remembering a conversation with Camus ❌ Isaak and Hyoga during training with Camus / Isaak talking to Camus
The sign-up timeframe already passed. Can I still join? The extraordinary period is 19-25/Jan. Please check the Reference list first to ensure the one you want is available, fill out the form, and contact staff (El Cadejos, Zeuse) so we can add you to the list. After this extraordinary period, sign-up will be officially closed.
May I use spinoff characters? Sure! All characters officially included in the Saint Seiya universe for Asgard/Bluegraad and Atlantis (refer to list previously provided) are applicable (except those without an official visual design, like Odin). Please note that even though there are characters with different versions across the franchise (ex: Isaak), they are not counted as different options for the Zine, so if said character is already taken, no other version of them will be available.
I changed my mind about the character I chose, and the new one is still available. Can I switch? To prevent confusion and misunderstandings, all character selections are final and cannot be changed/traded.
Am I allowed to change certain aspects of a character’s official design? It depends on the aspect, and should be reviewed case-by-case.
Example 1: as a Latin American, Io could differ in skin tone to the one seen on the official materials. However, characters like Hagen and Krishna, who have darker skin tones, should not be given lighter tones.
Example 2: if due to a personal headcanon, you believe a character has a certain scar or marking that is not seen in official materials, it can be included, but once again, please reach out to Staff for a case-by-case review.
I’m a writer! What is an acceptable image for the credits page? You can send an official StS work, fanarts (as long as it is made by you, gifted to you, or commissioned by you), or a picrew-generated image (as long as the picrew allows that use)
May I include a watermark on my submission? Yes, we encourage you to submit already watermarked fanworks to the zine, but it is not mandatory.
Do I have to send something for the check-ins? Nope. Our check-ins act as reminders only so you know exactly how much time you have left to send your submission.

Please double-check that the file is saved with the correct DPI (300) before submitting it via email.
Check your file specs by looking for an option called "Image size" or "Canvas properties"
That will give you a pop-up like the one in the screenshot. If it already has the right size and resolution (DPI) here, then your editable file is okay.
Save the file as a JPEG (*)
Open the JPEG image file and check "Image size"/"Canvas properties" again. It should have the same specs. If not, then there is something in your settings that is readjusting the DPI for web (72 dpi) when saving.
(*) If you are using Adobe Photoshop, we strongly recommend you use the "Save as" option, not "Export". The latter will automatically reduce the DPI.
You can review the complete guidelines in the original post. There’s no problem if you realize you can’t deliver, just please let us know.

Saintober: 1 - Wounds
Even when Baian felt the rain on him, he kept running among fallen columns and debris. The roar in the distance let him know what had happened. It might be too late, but he kept running.
His lungs burnt while pain pierced his legs. Blood filled his mouth, covered his left eye. Inside his chest, Baian was sure some ribs were broken. Every single wound caused by the Pegasus Saint screamed a different pain, demanding attention. Demanding him to stop.
But he kept running.
Sea Horse sensed the insistence of Siren’s cosmos, filled with doubts. Baian ignored it. There was no time.
He didn’t stop when his eyes finally met the sight of the South Pacific Pillar. Or what was left of it. The Canadian glanced anxiously, searching among the rubble, until he distinguished a pink spot, almost hidden by white dust. His pain meant nothing. Baian kept running even after realizing there was no cosmos burning there. There was no life, but Baian kept running until he reached it. The body was broken, but that will have died untouched.
Then, he stopped.
Cradling the dead body in his arms, Baian cried for this last wound he had received. An injury that was not physical but pierced his soul deeper, devouring all his senses.
Five more roars, the burning of an almighty cosmos. A shooting star entering Atlantis. He ignored everything. And he kept crying.
Siren burned his cosmos once more with urgency, calling. No one answered. His master called him too. There was a wish to answer, yes, but there was no will anymore.
When his home fell to Athena’s Saints, and the water of the Seven Seas covered him in an ancient embrace, Baian kept crying.

Mermaid Alanis
Scales: Green Mermaid | South Pacific Pillar
Height: 1.76 cm
Birthday: Nov 16 | ♏︎
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Nationality: Spanish-Atlantean
Languages: Castilian Spanish | Ancient Greek (Atlantean dialect)
Alanis is the daughter of two rebellious and problematic deserters that abandoned Atlantis with Clymene's parents.
Unlike Clymene, she left the realm with her family and settled in Seville, Spain, the city where Alanis had been born. Both of her parents enjoyed partying maybe too much and were highly irresponsible, often exposing Alanis to an environment not suitable for minors.
Her mother died when she was 10, which sank his father into a depression that only increased his consumption of alcohol and drugs. He died when she was 14. If someone asked her, however, she'd tell her parents were funny and original and that her childhood was amazing.
Alanis lived in the streets and queer clubs for a while until one night, the Scales of the Green Mermaid appeared in front of her. Refusing the obvious calling from the sea, she continued rejecting them until she gave up and decided to return to Atlantis.
Her straightforward and relaxed personality drives Clymene crazy, often causing issues between them. If possible, Clymene will avoid asking her to do anything. Training is the only moment when she's serious, but probably because she enjoys messing around with trainees.

Saintober: 2 - Heartbeat
Tu-tump.
Excited, she felt the warm heartbeat against her chest.
Breathing. Living.
Tu-tump.
All her life, Thetis had craved it. Looking from the distance, following him on the surface. He was the sun and she was the sunflower needing his warmth to survive.
Tu-tump.
Julian’s body embraced her tightly, his legs tangling with hers. Hiding the face on his neck, she tightened the grip. She could feel the divine cosmos inside.
Tu-tump.
It was too much, she knew.
The heat was increasing, burning her skin. She had always known a god’s cosmos was too powerful and unfathomable. She was nothing next to Him. Not her Scales, not her cosmos, not her strength were enough to stand so close.
Tu-tump.
Still, she didn’t let go.
Just a little longer and it’d be done. They would be on the surface, they would be safe. He would be safe. Thetis would have then repaid the life that had been granted to her.
Mermaid had felt useless after realizing she hadn’t defeated any enemy. Now, she understood.
What a perfect way to give back!
Tu-tump.
A kick to push her upwards. The strength abandoned Thetis, her eyes were shutting down. The almighty cosmos was sucking all life. A pink gaze focused on her, Thetis had done her job.
Tu-tump.
The body left her arms, taken now by Siren. Was that jealousy in the General’s cosmos?
“I have beaten my adversary, after all.” A dry smile before her eyes were closed forever.

Atlantean Families
Eight (8) leading families watched over Atlantis: those of the Generals’ families and the descendants of Atlas, later known as the Solo. After the Fall, hundreds of Atlanteans were stranded on the surface, including the Solo and descendants of Scylla, Siren, Chrysaor, and Sea Dragon.
Those left behind in Atlantis sought to keep records and recover families ever since, but it wasn't always possible. The technique of creating vortices demanded too much energy, and few Charybdis Marinas managed to replicate it, so the realm mainly depended on merpeople for such tasks. Over time, they lost track of several families, including those of Scylla and Sea Dragon.
Many of the Atlanteans who remained on the surface (not all descendants of warriors) tried to return. Some managed to do it, others died, and others were satisfied with passing the legend of Atlantis to their descendants.
For example, Sorrento's family has always known they are Siren descendants and keep a close relationship with Atlantis. The families of Scylla and Chrysaor knew this as well, but their last generations had then moved their faith to other gods.

Rebuilding the realm
Life after the Fall of Atlantis was never the same.
The former island was now scattered into seven territories, separated by continental distances. The distance was impossible for civilians, who depended on the Sea Gates to travel. These previous towers needed the cosmos of the Marina Generals to be activated, so if the Generals didn’t awake, the Gates couldn’t be used, isolating the territories even more. These territories are known as “pillar zones” (South Pacific Ocean’s Pillar Zone, for example).
The people and merpeople kept careful track of Atlanteans on the surface and, when possible, communicated with them. Some came back, some stayed on the surface. Each generation awaited for the Charybdis Marina to be chosen, the only warrior able to open vortices. However, they were not always awakened or didn’t have the energy needed to create a vortex for long.
After the first years of the fall, Atlanteans feared for their civilization to be erased, but something started happening: new people arrived. Those were not Atlantean descendants, though. It turned out that people that fell into the sea –or were thrown at it– sometimes survived. They were always welcomed with open arms, and most of them integrated into the life of Atlantis, helping to keep track of history and progress and increasing the cultural pot. More languages were added to the realm, including food, culture, and costumes.
The Fall didn’t mean the death of their culture and people. Once the most advanced civilization on Earth, they kept working hard to create new ways of living and surviving under the sea. However, even though merpeople kept traveling to the surface for resources when required, their responsibilities surpassed Atlantis’s needs. Adding to their isolation from the rest of the world, their technology stock at some point. They did what they could with what they had, never forgetting the cause of their problems: Athena and her Saints.

Creation
There was a time long, long ago, when the cities were still young, when a god fell in love with a woman from a distant and powerful kingdom. Their love resulted in ten beautiful children, five pairs of twins they were. The eldest received a beautiful island to rule over, a rightful gift for a rightful man.
The king's name was Atlas, like the titan, and Atlantis his impressive realm.
Poseidon was a god who loved to build things with his own hands, and it had been a while since he built something. After one of his visits to his elder brother, Hades, he decided it: he would have a realm of his own too, right above the mighty sea. For that, he chose Atlantis, the island ruled by one of his many children, Atlas.
Except he didn’t want an island only.
The mighty Poseidon surrounded Atlantis with three circular moats of increasing widths, each separated by rings of land. The Atlanteans, excited by the god’s project, soon joined and dug a canal to the sea, carving docks from the rock walls of the moats. Seven gates were made to allow ships to enter the island.
Poseidon smiled, proud of his people. To honor them, the dark-blue-haired god raised seven giant pillars surrounding the mountain from which his son ruled and a mainstay at the top of it. His seven most powerful warriors were then assigned to guard each pillar against any invader.
It was then that he decided he didn’t want any other deity or mortal to enter his newly created kingdom without his or his family’s approval. Poseidon hand-picked some other warriors and placed them in each of the city’s passages. It wasn’t enough for him, so he started working again: using brass, tin, and orichalcum, the most powerful metal in Atlantis and the world, he built seven tall towers. Thinking his warriors needed to be protected so they could guard each gate and pillar properly, he also created beautiful armor, inspired by some of his sons and daughters, by the sea creatures he loved, and by old marine gods. Scales, he named them.
Finally, the Earth Shaker asked one of his soldiers to create a vortex in front of each gate that would make it impossible to navigate for non-Atlanteans, and to remove them only under his command.
From then on, Atlantis was known as the Continental Temple of Poseidon.
-
Most of Atlantis's description was taken from Critias, one of Plato’s dialogues. Orichalcum is also mentioned in the descriptions of Atlantis, and it was second in importance only to gold.

Mermaid Clymene
Scales: Blue Mermaid | South Atlantic Pillar
Birthday: Dec 9 | ♐︎
Height: 1.78 cm
Hair color: Brown
Eyes color: Brown
Nationality: Atlantean
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Languages: Ancient Greek (Atlantean Dialect) | Modern Greek
Clymene is a mermaid born from two Eretai (foot soldiers) in Atlantis. When she was a kid, her parents, tired of waiting for the awakening of Poseidon (who had been sleeping for over 500 years by then), quit their positions and decided to live on the surface. Clymene refused to leave and was then raised by Teles, the mermaid leading the realm in the absence of Generals.
Unlike her parents, Clymene was very fond of Atlantis and was keen to learn and train. After Teles’ death, and now donning the Blue Mermaid Scales, she took on her hands to look after the realm. Both intrigued and desperate to find answers about Poseidon’s long slumber, Clymene started digging into all available records, which soon evolved into saving all information she could.
When Kanon breaks the trident’s seal, Clymene saves him from drowning and leaves him close to the Scales Room, desperate for someone to wake Poseidon. However, although it is clear to her that their god recognized the Greek as his commander, ignoring why he was locked in Cape Sounion makes her suspect him.
Clymene is tactical and methodical and loves to study ancient history (not only about Atlantis). She rarely takes time for her, and it’s Jasha who usually makes her take pauses to rest.
As the Marinas’ Proreus, she’s Kanon’s right hand and oversees the Mermaids. Clymene trained some of them, and it’s the strongest among them. She is assigned to look after the South Atlantic Pillar’s zone, which is why Sorento is first trained by her.

Charybdis Jasha
Scales: Charybdis
Birthday: Oct 6 | ♎︎
Height: 1.87 cm
Hair color: Black
Eyes color: Gray
Nationality: Russian-Italian
Sexual Orientation: Very Gay
Languages: Russian | Greek | English | Italian
Jasha is the descendant of a very ancient line of Atlanteans that got stuck on Earth when Atlantis sank. His mother was obsessed with returning to Poseidon’s realm, but her cosmos was never strong enough. She then started training Jasha, who eventually achieves to open a vortex but only after her death.
He is calm and observant, never rushing to conclusions and trying to understand all points of view, which is why Clymene goes to him to discuss important decisions. Although he’s quiet, he is very up-front and even sassy when he finally decides to speak, being one of the few that teases Sea Dragon.
Jasha is a foodie at heart, and cooking is one of the things he enjoys the most. He particularly enjoys cooking Italian food because that’s the only “Italian thing” he got from his mother (he doesn’t dominate Italian).
As the Marina’s Kybernetes, Jasha is Kanon’s left hand and commands the Cetus. He is the only mariner capable of opening a vortex to connect to the surface.
As was one of the strongest warriors before the Generals’ awakening, he trained several soldiers, and his attentive yet disciplined way is the reason many Atlanteans admire him. Later, he became Baian and Io’s master, both becoming very attached to him. He calls -and considers- them “his boys”. Although he only trained Isaak for a few months (Isaak’s cold cosmos far surpasses his), Kraken calls him master out of respect.
He has a very subtle smile, and rarely wears his hair loose. When he does, 99% of the time is because someone took his hairband off.
