Before this episode had aired in Turkey, there was intense speculation, following the trailer release, that CemKer were supposed to spend their first night together in it. I was super hyped up because of this prospect, and watched the episode in real time on my phone (as I was not home when it aired), so you can imagine how pissed off I was when they chose to waste the first 20 minutes of the episode solely on the aftermath of Kadir’s shooting - which implied tons of Cansız nonsense. But I did like this scene; Zeynep fearlessly confronting Arif/Cansız face to face at the hospital and calling him out on his bullshit. Fuck, this woman deserved so much better than what she got. *sigh*

Zeynep + Barış | Surrender

I was postponing watching the second season of Doğduğun ev kaderindir, I believe you have to be on a certain mood to see it as the drama in the plot increases and Zeynep is sorrounded by toxicity in many of her fronts. She needed a shoulder to lean on, what she was going through was just too much. Bariş was never portrayed as the hero but as a support for her. I just want to see this relationship developing and Zeynep thriving.

I can't help but find many parallels between Barış and Emir Bindal from Menajerimi ara and after the development of events in the latter, it breaks my heart.

Oh man, I love when bad things are happening to Selim!

The fact that Belma is so scared because of what happened to Cemre’s mum that she decided to join Kadir in his quest to defeat Selim is just the cherry on top of a very delicious cake.

That being said, I will never understand what was Selim’s logic in hiring Zeynep to his company, considering that: a) she would have been stupid not to take advantage of this and try to uncover evidence of his dirty business (which she did), and b) he now actively works with Veli to frame her for corruption and send her to prison. Ali and his damn weak script, smh.

Zeynep returns at home angry after her brief discussion with Kadir (who, unbeknownst to her, is on a Cansız-related mission), and basically kicks Cemre out of the house, ordering both her and Kerem to go and sort out their issues, then asks Cemre if she can borrow her car (presumably to follow Kadir).

Kerem going two steps back when seeing Zeynep being so angry is too precious for words, hahahaha (his faaaaace in the second screen cap, lol). Also, I love how Zeynep was basically the embodiment of the CemKer fandom in this scene.

Tons of Cansız related bullshit have happened in between this scene and the previous one I talked about, but there were two important developments: Zeynep gave Kadir evidence against Selim taken directly from his laptop by Cemre, and Selim told Demir that he will arrange Kerem’s murder in prison. But at this point I really feel no desire to screen cap a scene that does not feature Cemre, Kerem, or both of them.

ZEYNEP THREATENING TO BREAK A BOTTLE OVER KADİR’S HEAD IS LIFE TBH

I am also enjoying immensely the face Kerem makes when Cemre asks Zeynep: “Who else do I have in this life, except for you and Kerem? For God’s sake, don’t I have the right to help in a difficult situation?” I think he’s slowly starting to understand that she did not pay the money because she did not have faith in him; she did it because she loves him and wants to see him happy.

Alright, so last night I survived the apocalypse that was the Çarpışma finale. Man. Where should I even start? Let me begin by saying that I did not think it was possible to witness a disaster bigger than the Çukur S2 finale. Boy, I was wrong. So wrong. Spoilers ahead, read at your own risk.

The thing I feared happened in like... the first five minutes or so. Zeynep died, and this filled me with rage. I was never invested in ZeyKad (mostly due to the way Ali chose to write Kadir's storyline), but I FUCKING knew that dead Zeynep would result in lots of screen time for the most boring character ever aka Cansız. Besides, it's FUCKING RIDICULOUS that Ali spent half of episode 23 on Zeynep's rescue from that bomb, only to kill her literally FIVE FUCKING MINUTES LATER. WHAT WAS EVEN THE POINT OF RUINING HALF OF EPISODE 23?

Like okay, this show became a trainwreck ever since Cansız appeared. I did not expect any freaking miracles so late in the series. EVEN SO, IF ALİ WAS SO KEEN ON ZEYNEP DYING, WHY DID HE NOT GIVE US AN EPISODE FULL OF HAPPY ZEYKAD AND HAPPY CEMKER, PROPERLY PROVIDE CLOSURE TO THEIR STORY ARCS, AND THEN HAVE ZEYNEP BE KIDNAPPED AND KILLED? Not to mention that her being killed due to a bomb would have been a tragic parallel to the way Aslı and Deniz died in episode 1.

But no, homegirl gets saved only to subsequently die the most anticlimactic death ever - she's stabbed by Cansız in the club. AND THEN WE SPEND 3/4 OF THE FINALE HAVING TO ENDURE KADİR'S MAN PAIN, VELİ'S MAN PAIN AND CANSIZ BEING BORING AS FUCK. WHY OH WHY. OH AND ALSO AYLİN BECOMES AN ORPHAN AND SHE GETS KIDNAPPED FROM UNDER CEMKER'S NOSES!!! GREAT!

Almost two hours into the ridiculousness, I finally witnessed the first mildly good scenes. Kadir and Veli worked together to save Aylin and ended up beating Cansız at his own game, and I liked that. Veli apologising to Serpil and then taking the blame for the murder of Cansız was also quite nice. The highlight of the finale was the fact that we got a CemKer proposal!!!! I would have preferred a more intimate set-up for that proposal BUT OH WELL. I honestly feared for Kerem's life, and my standards for this show were under the sea level anyway, so I'll take whatever bone Ali is willing to throw at me. Plus, they looked fantastic in white.

Well, that was it. Everyone lives happily ever after, except Zeynep, Kadir’s mother, Aslı, and Deniz, who are all dead. Overall, it was a disappointing finale for a disappointing series. Too bad, it had a lot of potential. At least I got my happy CemKer, but I am really sorry for the Zeynep and ZeyKad fans.
