The British fought the re-establishment of the Jewish State. They prevented Jews from rescuing Jews from the Nazi inferno, closing the borders to our ancestral homeland and turning away refugees who managed to escape and reach these shores.
The British said they were keeping the peace, instilling law and order but it was their soldiers laughed and betted on my grandmother’s life when they saw her, a little girl running for her life, desperate to escape a lynch mob of Arab men with knives. Who would run faster? The men or the little Jewish girl?
They didn’t expect proud Jewish freedom fighters, men and women who refused to accept foreign occupation in the land of their ancestors. New, defiant Jews, very different from the Jews of the Galut.
These Jews were real freedom fighters, not terrorists. They did fight, blow things up and some people were killed – but it is crucial to understand that their targets were military installations and infrastructure, not babies, women, and elderly. They targeted buildings, bridges and railroads, not people. The point was to make it uncomfortable and impractical to be an occupying power, not to hurt individuals.
And they succeeded – but not without a terrible price.
Today, I stood in the room where the British executed Jewish freedom fighters. Their names are written on the wall.
Also written are the words some of them sang to their killers. The words others imprisoned sang to their British jailers, knowing their friends were being hanged.
Hatikvah. The 2000-year-old hope to be a free nation, in Israel, in Jerusalem.
They sang the national anthem of the Jewish State, not yet re-established.
And this is what the terrorists of today and their supporters in Britain and other Western countries do not understand – an occupier can be scared and incentivized to leave land that is not theirs.
This land is ours. We are hers.
We dreamed, taught our children, sacrificed and fought 2000 years to come home – and neither murderers nor the “civilized savages” of the Hague, the UN or the BBC will ever make us leave.
We are #ZionHomeToStay.
The 2000 year old dream is real.

There are still people who imagine that Israel is a desert and that the views are those of sand, camels and explosions.
Actually, when my grandmother was a child, there were sand dunes here.

The oldest love story ever documented is our story - that of the People of Israel, the Land of Israel and the God of Israel. It is a story of love, estrangement, unsurmountable obstacles miraculously defeated, passion, sweat and many, many tears. It is also a story of murder. This land is the area that connects us between the city of our ancestors, #Hebron and the city of our God, #Jerusalem. This is where an 18 year old Israeli was stabbed to death last night, because he is Jewish. And not just any Jew – a strong Jew, a Jew connected to both his #God and his land. THAT is what our enemies fear the most. THAT is what they are fighting against. I was there last week. As I took this photo through the window it struck me how much space there is here. How many more homes could be built. This conflict has nothing to do with space, “occupation” or freedom of movement. There is plenty of room for #Jews and #Arabs to live side by side – if they were willing to live and let live. The problem is that #Jewish identity, rerooted in the land that gave birth to us and growing ever stronger, is in direct conflict with Islamism that determines that their religion came to replace all others who came before. Now, when ancient Jewish prophecy is being actualized in front of their eyes, it undermines the validity of their religion. This is what the “conflict” is all about. Last night a terrorist brutally murdered a young man, not too different from our son. Similar age, interests and most importantly – values. Last night another Israeli family was changed forever, ripped apart and left with a hole that will never heal. Last night other young Israelis learned that they have another friend, another neighbor to mourn. There is only one appropriate response to this horrific situation. Building permits. Lots of them. New Israeli homes need to spring up on these hills. Strong Jews will grow, put down roots in this land and the eternal love story between the land and her people, the people and this land, will continue. We are #ZionHomeToStay

Joseph's Tomb
Once when our families and our holy places were attacked Jews had to rely on the mercy of others. Now, the Children of Israel defend the Land of Israel and the People of Israel, including the resting places of our forefathers and mothers. The 10 Commandments begin with I am the Lord Your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." This is an explanation of WHY God has the authority to make all the following commandments. It might have been logical to say: "Because I am the God that created the Universe" but we were not there when God created the universe. We did not experience it and the wonders of creation were not for our individual and personal benefit. Being carried from slavery to freedom WAS. The plagues that taught the Children of Israel that the One God is supreme were for us. Personal miracles. Many assume Passover is a myth, a nice story for kids, and yet, here we are thousands of years later – after countless massacres, pogroms, forced conversions, exiles, and genocide - the Children of Israel brought, yet again, to the home God chose for us, now strong enough to defend it. The clip is the message that went out to the IDF soldiers tasked with making it possible to fix Joseph's tomb in Shechem after it was vandalized by Arabs twice. When you see things like this remember, this isn't theoretical or fanciful - it is a straightforward explanation. Our history is connected to what we do today. It's personal. We once were slaves in Egypt. Now we are #ZionHomeToStay
