ashton - bobby / hen / buck

ashton was a rly hard one to pin down because i see parts of him in a couple of characters. firstly bobby - absolutely the father figure and very much the voice of reason when it comes to his team/band/friends. but also shoulders too much of that weight sometimes until it’s noticeably heavy to others. little stubborn to ask for help. i see those characteristics in hen too. such a strong beautiful person who has a clear mindset in what she wants and how to reach it. but takes on way too much at once and only asks for help when it all crumbles. and lastly i see some of buck there too, maybe not so much now that buck is on his breakdown era 😌 like i think ash has come a long long way to break out of his self destructive habits and of putting others first without even thinking about how it could affect him but i’m sure old habits die hard. but i also see buck as ash in the way he lights up a room and is so charming and thoughtful

luke - buck / ravi

i also see a lot of the same destructive tendencies of buck in luke. passing out the ‘good’ pieces of himself to others, putting on a brave face. putting all of the weight of the world on his own shoulders. but also. youngest brother and all the teasing that comes with that 😌🫶 god and he is just so pretty they’re both devastating. but i also for sure see luke as ravi - again youngest brother (idk if that’s canon but he deff gives those vibes of the younger sibling) and getting ribbed by the others, slightly awkward in new situations and around new people and uses comedy as a way to deflect 🫶

calum - eddie

not because i said ash could be buck i swear 😌 no but strong silent type, takes a while to warm up to people but you have his full trust once he’s got you under his wing. he is so fucking expressive 😭 background eddie in scenes vs calum in any interview when he’s not being asked something directly 🫶 he’s made some fucking tough decisions that altered his entire life path, tho calum’s giving up soccer to play in the band is obv a huge positive force that changed everything for him whereas i think eddie has really had to come to terms with his decisions in maybe a more negative way to begin with. therapised eddie tho giving out that love and positivity freely to his friends reminds me very much of calum

michael - chim

god he is so fucking strong and he loves so deeply and loudly. will drop everything to be there for his friends and give them his full support. when he’s so fucking sure of something he’ll pursue it to the ends of the earth. very much michael putting everything in to the band to give himself and the boys a new start at life and he carries that with him now in every band decision. he’s such a strong force within the band he has so much faith in his friends. also he’s fuckin funny mans got jokes 😌🫶

Drowning Oceans / teaser

Author’s note: Hey guys! After a loooong break I finally managed to write the teaser and some of the chapters of this fic. @popcornpoppin​ (who gives me alllll the amazing and lovely ideas) and I have been planning this fic for the longest time now and we can’t wait for you to read this 💕

Winning the games was supposed to be a good thing, it was supposed to have meaning; a relief. A long life filled with peace, wealth and luxury. A luxury that neither Katniss nor Peeta were able to enjoy for long. 

Neither of them thought that they’d be back in the Capitol so quickly but deep down they both knew that winning the game as a pair would hold consequences. 

And now here they were again, back in the Capitol a few months after their victory. 

It felt like a deja vu, experiencing all of this all over again. It felt like a bad dream but it wasn't, it was reality, as much as they wanted to escape it, they couldn't. 

They’d have to do this all over again, the tributes parade, the training, the interviews, the arena..

It was all the same. 

Almost.

The only difference; their fellow tributes weren't inexperienced teenagers but skillful victors, experienced killers.

“Finnick Odair, right?” Katniss said as she recognized the handsome blonde on the screen.  

“Yes. He won his games at fourteen, extremely humble-”

“You’re kidding right?” Katniss asks, interrupting him. 

“Yes, I’m kidding, he’s a peacock. A total preener but he’s the Capitol darling, they love him. Charming, smart and very skilled in combat, especially in the water.” 

“What about weaknesses?” 

“One. Mags, she volunteered for Annie, Mags was his mentor and basically raised him, he’s trying to protect her in any way and that exposes him.” Haymitch explains. 

“A guy like that has to know that she’s not gonna make it, when it comes down to it, he won’t protect her.” 

“Well Katniss, I just hope when she goes, she goes quickly. She’s actually a wonderful lady.” Haymitch speaks softly, pausing to look down at the ground before he turns back to the screen, pointing to the beautiful girl on the screen, similar to Finnick, she walks with confidence, a cocky smile on her lips as she waves to the people. 

“Y/n y/l/n.” Haymitch says “another Capitol’s favorite, a lot of admirers, people love her.” He pauses “at least the ones in the Capitol do.” 

“She is the youngest victor, right?” Peeta speaks up, recognizing the girl right away. He didn't know much about her, only that she won the games at thirteen and that she was a very good fighter. In a way he has always admired her, she seemed like a kind and caring person, despite the arrogant act in front of the cameras. 

Nodding “she kicked Finnick right off his throne.” He chuckles before continuing “she’s a sweet girl, very competitive but if she likes you, you’ll never meet a more protective and loyal person. Still be careful around her she’s very quick witted so you do not want to be on her bad side. She can be a bit arrogant sometimes, especially in the presence of her ….boyfriend but all together she is a very nice and friendly person.”

“Her boyfriend being Finnick?” Katniss guesses.

Haymitch looks between her and Peeta, somehow amused by something they clearly have no idea about “yes.”

“I’m assuming she is another one of his weaknesses then?” 

“Yeah, you could say that.” Haymitch laughs “these two come as a package deal though, where one is, there is the other. They’ve known each other since they were teens, they are... sweethearts.” He explains as he starts talking more of the pair. 

Peeta leans back in his seat, watching Haymitch basically gush over Finnick and y/n. Somehow being amused by seeing the older man that way. 

“Seems clear who you want us to team up with.” Peeta chuckles.

Katniss looks back at the boy before looking back at Haymitch “you want us to team up with.. them?” She scoffs, clearly not as fond of the idea as Peeta or Haymitch are.

“Yes, just pretend that it’s a double date.” Haymitch laughs. 

Katniss raises her brows as she looks at them before looking back at the screen, watching as y/n walks off the stage. Furrowing her brows, she remembers seeing the girl by Snow’s side. 

“Isn’t she one of Snow's favorites?” She asks and by the look of Haymitch’s face she has her answer.

“Clearly not if she has to go back into the arena.” Peeta mumbles.

Ignoring Peeta she speaks up again “why would I want to team up with her?” 

Haymitch looks at Katniss, the uncertainty and disgust written on her face. She has made up her mind about a girl who she knows nothing about already. Haymitch knew it would be difficult to convince her to pick y/n as an ally now.

“She was basically “the poster child” of this all, she won her games at thirteen, she was forced to be by his side, it wasn't her choice, Katniss.” Haymitch explains, defending the girl that he’s come to see as his daughter “but that was a long time ago, she got out of this all when she turned eighteen.” 

“And Snow just let her go?” Peeta asks. Somehow not believing that this man would let anyone live in peace “just like that?”

“Yes, I think she made some kind of deal with him but I’m not sure- and it doesn't even matter now, all that matters is for you two to have good allies and both y/n and Finnick are your best options.” 

Katniss leans back in her seat, the skeptical look, evident on her face and Haymitch notices it, sighing, he looks at Peeta, unlike Katniss, he doesn't seem to be against the idea of teaming up with y/n and Finnick. 

“Katniss.” Haymitch says as he turns to look at her again “I’ve known those two since they were teens, they are good people. I can vouch for them.” 

If it wasn't for the convincing look on Haymitch’s face, Katniss would've never even thought about contemplating the idea of teaming up with you or Finnick but the older man seemed to trust the two of you. 

And she trusts him.

She looks at Peeta and then at Haymitch before nodding softly.

“Okay.”
