DAY SIX OF SPIDERBIT THEME WEEK STARTED BY @anonymous-dentist! :D SELECTED THEMES: HYBRIDS & CUDDLING ladies gentlemen and everyone in between WE GOT A TWO-FOR-ONE LETS GOOOO
Roier tries to be sneaky, Cellbit will give him that. And sure, he is sneaky! Against other people. Humans.
And, well, Cellbit is decidedly not human. Not one-hundred percent, at least. In other words: he hears Roier coming sneaking up the stairs to the bedroom long before a normal person would, ears tuned into the sound as he reads.
But he decides to let his husband have his fun, not looking up from his book and playing the oblivious game. Red appears in his peripheral.
“Gatinho!”
And then there’s a spider-hybrid strewn across his legs.
The investigator doesn’t look away from his book, but there’s a contented smile on his face. “Oi, guapito.”
Roier adjusts so he’s between Cellbit’s legs instead. The latter keeps reading, not needing to see the former’s face to know he’s starting to pout.
He’s patient, though, giving it a good while to wait and see if the cat-hybrid makes any move to put the book away. He doesn’t.
(He knows exactly what he’s doing.)
“Cellbo,” Roier whines.
Cellbit chuckles to himself. “Que?”
“Pinche pendejo— you know exactly what the fuck you’re doing, man!”
“Yeah?”
He feels two arms wrap around his torso, and another two pull the book from his hands indignantly. Six eyes stare up at him; two browns, and four extras laced with a beautiful ruby red.
Roier seems to contemplate, and Cellbit knows he’s considering throwing the book far away, but the spider-hybrid decides against it, merely tossing it onto the nightstand to their right, out of reach.
Hands free once more, he settles them on Cellbit’s chest, resting his chin on them and looking up at him, blinking in faux innocence.
The investigator laughs again, fond, gently cupping his husband’s face and stroking his cheeks. His tail flicks happily, curling somewhere around Roier’s leg as it always does.
It falls silent for a short while, the two basking in their silent admirations. In front of them, the sun has started sinking below the horizon, painting the whole bedroom with yellows and oranges and blanketing them in a comforting warmth.
The light catches Cellbit’s already-piercing eyes, casting his face in a golden glow, and for a moment, the spider-hybrid is left truly breathless, heart thumping in his chest.
(Is this what it feels like to fall in love all over again?)
He finally moves one of his arms, reaching up to the cat-hybrid’s head. Finding the right spot behind the base of Cellbit’s right ear, he scratches gently.
Immediately, Cellbit’s eyes flutter shut, hands dropping from Roier’s face so his arms can wrap around him instead. He subconsciously tilts back into the touch, and his husband hears the telltale begins of a purr rumble from his chest.
They stay like that a while, until Roier pulls his hand back but the purring persists, and he takes the opportunity to wrap his arms around Cellbit’s chest, above his extra pair. His head settles against the investigator’s chest, and he feels Cellbit hold him tighter in turn.
The bedroom gets progressively darker, but the warmth stays, settling into their bones as they feel sleep on the verge of taking over.
Only then does Roier pull Cellbit to lay down completely, and his husband complies immediately. They shift to be under the blanket and onto their sides, still facing each other, holding right back onto each other.
They become a web of tangled limbs, then, and pieces puzzle into place like routine clockwork. Roier tosses his leg over Cellbit’s and feels something soft curl around his in return. The spider-hybrid feels hands curl into the fabric of his shirt, tight but not desperate, keeping him pressed close.
(They physically can’t get any closer to each other, not with their tangled legs and three total pairs of arms wrapped securely around each other.)
(But they’ll try anyway.)
He presses his own face right back against the cat-hybrid’s chest. The purring is louder now, even as they’re clearly drifting off and can barely murmur te amo to each other in goodnight. But it’s not distracting. It’s… comforting.
It’s home.
This is home.

DAY SEVEN OF SPIDERBIT THEME WEEK STARTED BY @anonymous-dentist! :D SELECTED THEME: SOULMATES sorry for the delay!! the end of the week-long journey <3 and what better prompt to end it with than this? who knew doodling could lead to such good things :>
It technically starts when they're in Cellbit's office.
Roier doesn't mind keeping Cellbit company in his office. Someone has to watch the investigator, after all, and make sure he takes at least somewhat decent care of himself. That someone may as well be him, with how often they're together already.
(It's totally not an excuse for more quality time - just them. Nothing like that.)
The spider-hybrid likes exploring, though. He likes being out and about, not cooped up in a small office. He doesn't understand how Cellbit can spend hours at a time in here, pouring over pages and pages and staring at a computer screen and corkboard with more questions than answers.
His intelligence is admirable, though. Roier's never met someone quite like him. Very admirable.
In due time, however, he starts to get, admittedly, very bored. His best friend has already explained what he's trying to decipher and has since gone silent, and Roier isn't going to bother asking him to go over it again because he knows full well he isn't going to understand it any better than the first time around.
(In other words, not at all.)
Instead, Roier picks up a stray pen on Cellbit's desk as an idea enters his head. Rather than pushing up his own sleeve, though, he takes the other's left arm with its rolled-up sleeve, maneuvering it gently so he can start doodling on it.
Cellbit pauses briefly, but he doesn't pull his arm away, only quirking a brow. "What are you doing?"
"Making art," Roier answers simply. "I let you work, you let me work?"
The investigator chuckles, a layer of fondness to it that makes the spider-hybrid feel awfully fuzzy, and nods in acceptance. "Okay."
(Neither of them seem to notice the lack of distance between them.)
(Or they simply don't care.)
When Roier finally caps the pen again, there's a plethora of little doodles on Cellbit's arm. Little versions of them as well as Bobby and Richas, a dog, some silly faces. Random flora.
Cellbit's clearly amused, but his voice and smile are warm. "Gracias, guapito."
He smiles brightly back, and the investigator's heart flutters. "De nada, gatinho."
And it's only that night at home does Roier see it, pulling off his sweatshirt while getting ready for bed.
The same exact doodles in the same exact spot, on his own left arm.
His eyes widen, mind suddenly filling with a thousand thoughts. But there's only one conclusion in mind, and he's... incredulous.
(Overjoyed.)
He debates messaging Cellbit right here and now; the investigator would certainly be awake. But he ultimately decides against it. The man has practically been waist-deep in Federation investigation work, and he doesn’t need to add anything else on that plate.
(Because what if he isn’t happy about it?)
Cellbit has his agenda. Roier can wait a while, however many days, until things calm down. Until the stress lessens.
Right?

DAY FOUR OF SPIDERBIT THEME WEEK STARTED BY @anonymous-dentist! :D SELECTED THEME: KISS took a new approach with this one bc i really really wanted to write an absolute soft fluffy mess and i present to you: a compilation of different types of kisses :> this is kinda long sorry guys-
Chaos. Pure, unadulterated chaos.
Everything is a hazy blur. Everything. Waking up and finding Felps. Breaking Felps out and reuniting. Stumbling into the room overlooking the massive dungeon and finally being able to send coordinates, desperately hoping that someone, anyone, will see them and come, despite everything he’s done.
Did they all get their letters?
(Did Roier get his letter? The amaranths?)
If they won’t come for him specifically, maybe they’ll come for Felps’s sake.
And then, after God only knows how long, people show up. A lot of people show up.
And they’re rescued. They’re freed. It’s a mess of voices shouting, swords clashing, armor clanging, and heat. Cellbit barely has the energy to hurry, mentally and physically exhausted, but he’s being ushered along and he has no choice.
(People care. They came. They care.)
The first moment of clarity, oddly enough, comes when he’s standing on the roof, and he’s just indirectly proposed to Roier— oh, God, is this actually—
And Roier accepts.
(Were they even dating in the first place?)
(Does it matter? Anything could happen at any moment. The last few days are an example of just that.)
Well, nothing about them is normal, anyway.
There are arms thrown around his neck, drawing him back from his mind. Roier is laughing, and warmth blooms in Cellbit’s heart as he laughs alongside him, arms wrapping right around his waist as they rock in place.
(Incredulousness. Surprise. Happiness. Love.)
When the laughter finally calms, and they still, Roier pauses a moment before moving back one of his arms, tentatively cupping Cellbit’s face.
The investigator’s eyes widen slightly, heat threatening to creep up his neck, and it takes all of his willpower to try not to lean into the touch.
(He fails, borderline miserably. But the fondness in Roier’s eyes runs so deep he isn’t sure he can be embarrassed.)
Roier presses a kiss to his cheek, then, and his stunlock must be visible, because Roier laughs again, dark eyes crinkling and God, he just looks so happy and perfect and Cellbit thinks he might melt and die right here and now—
His cheeks flush and the spider-hybrid only laughs more, burying his head into Cellbit’s neck. Cellbit breathes in, but a smile splits his face once more and they’re both laughing like idiots again, holding each other tighter all the while.
(Love. Love. Love.)
“Don’t fuck this up” repeats like a mantra in Cellbit’s head; over and over and over again. He feels impossibly lucky Roier even agreed to let this date happen, nearly physically wincing at the recollection of all the events that had transpired prior to this point.
(Roier deserves better than him, really.)
(But if he’s who Roier wants after all, then he’ll be damned if he doesn’t try to be at least half the man the spider-hybrid deserves.)
All things considered, though, the date is going really well. Although the investigator is still kicking his own ass at his carelessness, things are finally returning to a semblance of normalcy, and for that he’s eternally grateful.
Roier spends more time talking between the two of them, but it’s perfectly fine by Cellbit; he’s always been more of a listener, anyway.
(It’s not like he’s too distracted by the man himself to make any extended commentary. No, not at all!)
Roier is fun to watch, though. Captivating. He’s expressive, charming, practically everything adoring under the sun. And he’s, well, beautiful.
Really beautiful.
(Handsome? Pretty? Beautiful?)
(Does it really matter?)
The lighting in the taqueria isn’t spectacular by any means. But if anything, the slight dimness only makes the spider-hybrid more distracting pretty. His eyes twinkle with fun and mischief, and his smile could light up the whole taqueria itself, Cellbit thinks fondly. And—
“Cellbo?”
Cellbit blinks, snapping back to reality. “Yeah?”
Roier is a rather cute mix of puzzled and amused, quirking an eyebrow. “¿Estás bien? You spaced out or something; you okay?”
“Oh, uh, yeah, yeah. Sí. Sorry.” The investigator rubs the back of his neck.
“No worries, man,” Roier dismisses. And much to Cellbit’s admiration, he backs up a bit in his story and continues right on.
At some point, Cellbit’s eyes drop to their hands on the table, a short distance apart from each other. And a thought starts to creep into his head.
(The mantra repeats itself. Don’t fuck this up.)
Gingerly, Cellbit takes Roier’s hand in his, thumb brushing along his knuckles. The spider-hybrid doesn’t make any moves to pull his hand back, and, to the other’s surprise, his momentary surprised pause doesn’t even disrupt the flow of his story.
They stay like that for a short while, and Cellbit’s adoring thoughts amble back to him as he listens to Roier.
(Him. Him. Him.)
Before the investigator even fully processes what he’s doing, he’s lifting the spider-hybrid’s hand and pressing a gentle kiss to his knuckles.
This makes Roier actively pause, and Cellbit’s heart drops for a moment, eyes widening.
(Don’t fuck this up, don’t fuck this up—)
(You’ve fucked this up—)
Roier starts smiling, cheeks tinted the faintest of reds. Nothing is said, but he lowers their hands to the table, lacing their fingers together.
And they stay like that until Leo reappears with their food.
Both of them have barely been able to stop smiling since the ceremony began, when Cellbit stepped onto the aisle and their eyes locked.
Everything is a bit of a haze. But a pleasant one. Hands clasped, the world seems to get smaller and smaller until it’s only them at the altar, Father Peta’s voice a hum of white noise in the background.
It’s something that’s felt like a long time coming, oddly enough. Thinking back, the pieces seem to fall into place, like a puzzle.
For Cellbit, it started that very moment he and the other Brazilians were rescued off the boat. When the first face he saw on the other side of the glass, beaming and laughing and shouting, was already etching into his mind. Unforgettable.
(That was it.)
He didn’t know, then. He didn’t understand the little piece nagging him at the back of his mind. How could he know, when the future was so uncertain? An island full of mysteries, that was a mystery within itself. His priorities were elsewhere.
For a while, at least.
It’s a little blurrier for Roier, when things, feelings, started to grow more apparent. Their adventures got longer, more frequent. Seeking each other out with no excuse, supporting each other. The flirting stopped being just for the sake of flirting, of having a little fun. Cellbit made him nervous in a way not quite foreign to him, but a way that made him try to deny it. Try to hide from it.
And then Cellbit disappeared, leaving Roier to stare at a letter, a painfully familiar photo, and a bundle of red flowers. Amaranths.
(Everlasting love.)
And it became crystal clear then. He knew. Even if it was too late. God, had he hoped it wasn’t.
(He couldn’t take another loss.)
(But he wouldn’t.)
So, in a strange cacophony of events, for better or for worse, here they are. Admiring each other, exchanging vows that make both of their eyes glassy. They don’t need to talk about the interruption.
It’s all led up to this, one way or another.
“I now pronounce you married!”
Hasn’t it?
The kiss cue’ has barely left Father Peta’s mouth before Roier is grabbing Cellbit’s face - quick but gentle, never harsh - and pulling him into a kiss he’s gotten rather impatient for.
(They were both getting rather impatient, but nobody needs to know that.)
It’s not much of a kiss at first, though, the way their noses bump first and they can’t stop smiling and fighting laughter against each other’s lips. But as it sinks in, that they’re married, they’re husbands, Cellbit holds Roier tighter, pulling him closer still. Their eyes flutter shut, lips pressing together in a way that feels nothing short of home.
(They’re finally right where they needed to be.)
“Espera- I want to try something.”
Cellbit shoots his husband a questioning look. Roier only grins.
The investigator folds his arms, watching as the spider-hybrid flicks his wrist up towards the ceiling, a thin string of web shooting out.
With an athletic grace that never ceases to impress Cellbit, Roier jumps and flips himself upside-down, suspended by the web.
They’re eye-level now— well, if Cellbit looks straight ahead then he’s looking at Roier’s chin, and vice versa, but his eyes lower to his love’s own. “Okay, and?”
(This feels oddly familiar. Is this the set-up for what he thinks it is?)
Roier’s grin doesn’t falter. “Kiss me.”
(Of-fucking-course.)
Cellbit wants to facepalm, flick his husband on his very kissable face, but the fondness in his heart is quickly growing, and he laughs instead, shaking his head to himself. “Que? Like the fucking movie?”
It’s the spider-hybrid’s turn to laugh. “C’mon, man! You know you want to!”
“Uh-huh.”
“Bésame, pendejo. Before I get light-headed and fall on my face or some shit. You don’t want me cracking my—”
Huffing another laugh, the investigator tilts his head up and cups Roier’s cheeks, connecting their lips and effectively shutting him up.
The angle makes it wonky and awkward, and the kiss only lasts a few seconds before they’re smiling and snickering, and snickering turns into even more laughter.
(How did they get here?)
Still holding Roier’s face, Cellbit plants kisses to the corner of his mouth, his nose, and his forehead in succession. “Te amo, guapito.”
Roier’s smile softens, eyes bright, and his husband is certain he’s falling in love with the spider-hybrid all over again. “Eu te amo, gatinho.”

DAY ONE OF SPIDERBIT THEME WEEK STARTED BY @anonymous-dentist! :D SELECTED THEME: ROYALS part of my existing spiderbit royals au, which you can find here :)
All things considered, this gala is actually tolerable.
It's not that Roier hates galas - he likes dressing up, gossiping with townsfolk, participating in a few dances. It's the politics he doesn't like: classist courtiers, uptight generals, all the talk of pacts and trades and treaties, this and that-
Too many negatives and not enough positives.
But this? This is his first gala with Cellbit as his personal guard. As his partner.
There was another gala, months before. Back when Cellbit was still practically a stranger to him, one of the knights who patrolled the parameters of the massive ballroom and down the halls to ensure nothing went awry. Back when suitors were coming up to him left and right, looking to flirt and dance and win his hand alongside his heart. Roier would humor them, but they would never win. Even if it made his parents increasingly exasperated with him.
There will be none of that this time around, though, at least he certainly hopes. This time, things are different. So much different.
In what has to be a first, there's no armor on Cellbit to be found. Instead, the silver metal has been replaced with black and white and deep emerald fabrics; a high-collared shirt and a long coat. The guard's sword is in its sheath attached to his waist, though, veiled from immediate sight by a black cape, and he expects nothing less.
In no uncertain terms, Roier has trouble looking away. But it's fine, because Cellbit keeps looking at him, too, with unadulterated adoration, smiling with such a warm fondness that it makes him melt all over, and he wonders how the hell he went for so long without it.
(There's a lot of other eyes on them at first, too. It makes Cellbit stiff in his vigilance, his face open to the world and not just his world. But Roier's hand barely leaves his.)
(They really do stand out; dark greens and reds contrary to the bright yellow-golds and vivid violets of the prince's parents. A match that could rival, indeed.)
The gala enters its full swing and everything is, well, normal. Tolerable. The prince makes his rounds with the townsfolk, getting his favorite clue into the local drama. Chisme.
The guard accompanies him, too, but occasionally walks off to strike conversation with his own companions, or do his own silent checks around the borders of the ballroom. The latter doesn’t go unnoticed by Roier.
“Ya, mi amor,” he chastises fondly when Cellbit returns once. “Nothing to worry about.”
The band starts playing a tune that makes Roier perk up immediately, and before Cellbit can dispel the recognizable glint in his eye, the guard is being pulled deeper into the ballroom, Roier’s hand sliding into his own as the prince’s free settles on his shoulder.
Cellbit huffs, but he’s anything but upset, especially with the way Roier’s face lights up with a laugh, pressing closer still.
(And he remembers why dancing isn’t so bad, after all. If it means this.)
(They’re getting married. Married.)
The song ends with Roier getting twirled out with a laugh and a flourish. Then, it’s clear he gets another idea, tugging Cellbit’s hand lightly. “Sigueme, sigueme.”
They’re slipping out of the ballroom and down a hall, going up the stairs. Their final destination is revealed when the prince pushes open one of the double doors and they’re hit with a cool summer breeze.
“They’re going to notice we’re gone.” Cellbit quirks a brow.
“And? I saw the look on my father’s face. I am not listening to another general if I can help it.”
The guard hums, smiling amusedly. “Brilliant solution.”
“I’m full of them, no?” Roier responds.
“Sometimes.” The quip is met with a gasp and a smack to Cellbit’s shoulder. Roier pulls back in faux hurt, hand to his heart and everything, but then Cellbit’s hands are on his waist and he’s pulled right back. The prince pouts. “Hijo de puta.”
Cellbit only smiles knowingly, and Roier feels positively fuzzy. Their lips connect, and he’s flush against his love once more, arms circling snugly around the guard’s neck.
(A fire burns. All it took was patience.)
(He’s never letting go, now.)
When they finally pull apart, Roier rests his head against Cellbit’s shoulder, and they hold each other tighter still.
They can’t hear the music from the ballroom anymore, but it doesn’t matter. The night is their guide, as it always has been, and all is well.

DAY TWO OF SPIDERBIT THEME WEEK STARTED BY @anonymous-dentist! :D SELECTED THEME: MURDER HUSBANDS (au slash something or other where purgatory happens later bc we were robbed of murder husbands plans) (i, uh… violence warning? murder husbands commit murder. i think this is one of the more interesting things i've ever written. you'll see why)
Their synergy is that of a well-oiled machine; quick yet eerily meticulous, like they’d done it together a thousand times already.
(Only one of them has. But the anger, the desire for blood and revenge from the other, is the perfect compensation.)
Their victims don’t stand a chance, one dropping to the floor right after the other with barely a chance to react.
The guard vaguely recognizes the man pinning him to the ground, whose arms are littered in scars new and old and whose clothes are stained with blood. A red and black dagger is held against its throat. They warned it, about this man. A potential threat, but not definitive.
Definitive, indeed.
The struggle only seems to make the man more pleased, laughing with a grin like the Cheshire Cat. The guard gets a few hits in with its baton, knocking him back, but he always comes right back, eager to fight. Eager to play. Eager to kill.
The other worker knows next to nothing about the other man dealing with it. But what’s more concerning is that they were wrong. There isn’t just one killer to be weary of. Since when was there two? Has it been two this whole time?
It’s this worker that’s the first of the two to go, the spider-hybrid above it playing no games with it, unlike his companion. The worker’s one and only attempt at self-defense is blocked with ease, and it watches as two extra sets of ruby red eyes open to stare at it, pupils as thin as needles.
(As if to say, you shouldn’t have done that.)
He strikes, and there are fangs piercing its neck. Immediately, it feels something coursing through its veins, numbing as its limbs feel as heavy as lead. The fangs are torn out of its white fur with no remorse, and the last thing it feels through coughing and sputtering is a spider leg piercing right through his chest. Digging.
And that’s that.
The guard sees it happen. And that’s the last thing it sees. Because the dagger that’d been shoved through its chest is pulled out and slicing against its neck, quick and efficient as it slumps to the floor, unmoving…
Cellbit climbs to his feet, lifting the dagger and swiping his tongue along the flat side of the blade, licking the blood clean off.
He watches Roier - his love, his husband - hold a heart without so much as flinching. If anything, the spider-hybrid seems just as pleased as he is, even if his expression is stoic, borderline angry.
(He knows how to read that man better than most people.)
Roier’s black sweatshirt is stained even darker still with fresh blood, hands covered in it too as he drops the organ carelessly, standing as well.
(Cellbit’s heart jumps, and he resists the urge to walk over, pulling him into a smothering kiss.)
It’s Roier who walks over to him first, finally smiling and looking evidently satisfied. Roier slips behind him, chin hooking over his shoulder, arms circling his waist as they both admire their handiwork.
“Que lindo,” the spider-hybrid murmurs.
The tone nearly sends a pleasant shiver down Cellbit’s spine. “Sim.”
Cellbit finally wheels around after a few moments pass, shoving his dagger away momentarily to cup Roier’s face and pull him into a bruising kiss.
His husband makes a surprised sound but immediately reciprocates, arms wrapping tight around his neck and deepening the kiss.
It tastes like blood; metallic and bitter and addictive.
(Cellbit’s heart hammers in his chest, and he’s never felt more alive.)
(Roier starts to understand the thrill, too.)
Two new bodies show up, mutilated and massacred as ever. But there’s a catch, this time. They don’t show up days apart; they appear on the same exact day, and the exact same place.
(And one of them is missing a heart.)
The dead Federation workers have been morbidly displayed on the quartz floor in front of the train station. Bloody symbols paint the pristine white floor crimson with another message, another clue.
Find it before we do.
Far away from the train station, in a tall, brooding castle on a hill, the island’s head investigator sits, carefully cleaning red off of his wedding ring as he and his husband strategize and plan out their next little date.

Note
I hope you feel better soon A.D. Dunno if you already answered this but how you came with the prompts/themes for the Spiderbit week?
So I first participated in a fan week back in early 2021, and it was over on twitter back during my haikyuu phase.
I remembered a couple of prompts from that week, and those are the more domestic ones like ‘kiss’ and ‘dance’
The other half of the prompts, the au ones, come from a mixture of what I see the most of in the fandom and what I see the least of. We have plenty of royalty au fics, but like absolutely zero soulmate aus. Yk?
