*the doorbell rings and when you answer you see a small box at your doorstep with a big red ribbon bow. When you open it, it has questions written on it in okayish handwriting and a note that reads 'for your Castlevania self insert please?'*

Santiago @tex-treasures
hi hi Santiago! thank you so very much for this, also I have your Arcane ask in my Drafts, it's on hold because I want to make a drawing for it <3 but it will be answered too!
but I'm very excited for this because I basically never talk about Crow (my Castlevania insert) and now I have the opportunity to do so!
2. when in canon does your self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance?
Crow makes their first appearance in Season 2, at the first gathering of Dracula's council. they appear with Hector and Isaac, in similar sort of uniform, making it fairly easy to mistake them for a human just like the other two. in fact, most of the vampires assume as such, and make passing comments that at least two of Dracula's human generals are Forgemasters but they see no point for keeping the third one around except perhaps for moral.
it's only when Hector and Isaac themselves make more comments on Crow's uncomfortable presence, as well as the camera panning towards the ceiling of the grand hall to reveal dozens of crows, some of which blink with blue eyes, that it's suggested that Crow is not as human as the vampire council suspects.
5. does your self insert have any special powers or abilities?
Crow is in actuality a fae. their main power comes in their ability to see through the eyes of any crow. any crow. they have a natural attraction for the birds, able to manifest a flock as soon as they move into a new area, but remain capable of turning their vision to that of a bird halfway across the country. it makes them Dracula's best spy, inside and outside the castle, and later makes them a perfect scout and guard for Alucard.
they are also able to 'dematerialise' their human form, turning instead into a flock of crows. they are also capable of returning to their usual fae form, but that is only for life-or-death emergencies, something that Taka and Sumi certainly cause.
6. does your self insert have any pets?
does Crow's flock count? because if so, yes, and like....30 of them at any given time.
14. what hobbies does your self insert have?
they do a lot of writing in their downtime. they regularly refer to themselves as 'a transcriber of history', one of the apparent reasons they joined Dracula's court when he began the purging of Wallachia. their writings tend to be a mixture of historical accounts, daily diary keeping, and poetry. they also love love reading books.
when Alucard finds them loitering in the husk of Dracula's castle, he enlists them into helping clear the place up and take inventory. during this time, he ropes them into learning how to cook, and they really take to it. soon enough they're making meals on a regular basis and trying to experiment themselves, finding recipe books from the Belmont hold and scattering them through Alucard's kitchen. they make up for a lack of utilising salt by going all in on different herbs, spices, and sauces.
16. freebie! name a fact about your self insert you want everyone to know.
Crow follows by the fae rulings of favours and exchanges. it's unknown by the rest of Dracula's Court why they chose to be one of his generals, but in truth they were the one to first open the bargaining doors with Dracula - he would gain the eyes and ears of the nation, and they would gain a front row seat to one of the largest events of the century. it was one of the main ways Dracula knew that despite Crow's human appearance, they weren't even slightly human, to see humanity being wiped from a land as 'an event'. something for them to record, as with many other things, and move on.
it turns out being close to people, instead of observing from a distance, changes someone inherently.
