Reverberation captured in São Sebastião Fort.
“Etymologically, reverberation comes from the Latin verb reverberare, “to strike back, to reflect”. In the displacement of a sound from its source to the ear, only a small part of the sound energy travels in the most direct way. A large portion of the sound energy follows indirect paths, as it is reflected on the ground and the environment of the milieu: walls, ceilings, facades.”
