#actually considering ingo being related to drayden

How would the brothers go about getting something spice and/or sugar are chewing on and not supposed to be chewing on out of their mouths, since you know how dogs are when they get into things they shouldn't?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sugar is a good oupy and generally knows what not to chew on so I think she would just listen to her trainer <3 But if you want Spice to stop chewing something you have to physically wrestle it out of his mouth

LOL so I got a decent response to yesterdays submas polls, and tought I'd make a post summarizing some of their final results. In bullet point form.
NOTE: All of the results listed are based on the response to polls. These are not definitive reflections of the views of submas or pokemon fans as a whole and should not be taken as such.
When it comes to whether or not Emmet and Ingo share a braincell, results were faily mixed with at least a fifth of people replying that Elesa had the braincell, 17% said they had no braincell, 16% that the braincell is frequently dropped, and 10% agreeing that they share a braincell with another 10% adding that Ingo has it the vast majority of the time.
The question of the nature of Ingo and Akari's relationship had little contest with 47% of responders agreeing they have an uncle-niece style relationship. Which is impressive considering 22% of the vote was vanilla extract.
90% of fans agree that Ingo and Emmet embarrass each other as siblings are wont to do.
62% of fans think Emmet edges Ingo out as the stronger battler. This is likely due to his double battling format and what a challenge he can be in the original BW post games rather than lore reasons. ((although its insanely fun to think about in that context))
When it comes to who has more, uh, experience in relationships Emmet was voted to have the most game with 68% of the vote. Proving that being a tumblr sexyman and getting some are two distinctly different things.
A whopping three quarters of respondents agree that Emmet and Ingo likely live in an apartment with only 18% thinking they have a house.
88% of fans agree that, of the two, Emmet is the most likely to start an argument.
Over 70% of submas fans who responded think Ingo is the shyest of the two.
Altho not too shy because 66% of fans who responded also think Ingo is the better liar.
Do you agree with these results? Disagree? Discuss in reblogs and the replies!
And if you're sad you missed out on responding to the polls above, know that there are still some polls that have not yet finished! You can find and respond to any of the following
(time remaining roughly based on when post was put out)
Best at Video Games? (over)
Most protective brother? (10 minutes)
Who does the fandom mosts enjoy watching suffer? (1 hour left)
Who has changed the most since they were children? (3 hours left)
If given the chance Ingo would choose to... (3 hours left)
Who was the biggest crybaby as a kid? (3 hours)
Who can kick the most butt? (like fighting. Not battling with pokemon) (3 hours)
Who got the farthest in their gym challenge? (3 hours)
Who's the bravest? (3 hours)
Ingo and Emmets parents are; (3 hours)
Who is secretly Drayden's favorite? (3 hours)
Is Drayden the submas twins uncle or Dad? (still have 5 days remain as of posting)
Who does the cooking? (5 days remain as of posting)
Ingo may be a Tumblr sexyman but which twin is most likely to actually get married? (5 days remain)
Are Ingo and Emmet related to the original heroes/princes? (6 days)
When playing an RPG, Emmet is most likely to use a character that falls under which of the following archetypes? (Emmets responses) (Ingos responses) (Elesa's responses) ((One day remains))
I am almost guranteed to make more polls beyond this. Just thought I"d make a quick guide to a bunch of the ones I've posted up so far.

Uncle Clay AU: Bullying Outtakes
The bullying thing actually had several different options for how it could go.
It was always more or less the same; Ingo being bullied, Emmet getting into trouble for getting into fights defending him, the uncles finding out somehow.
But the how and even some of the details for the actual struggles the twins faced varied.
Was it just teasing and cruel jokes, or was it physical?
Was their teacher new and someone idealistic and didn’t notice the bullying, or was their teacher something out of a school horror story and directly contributing to it?
Did Clay or Drayden witness some of the bullying as a way to find out, or did the twins or someone else tell them?
These were all options I had, and while I’m happy with the one I went with, I’m sharing the other three possibilities below.
MASTERPOST
VERSION 1
There’s a class trip to a museum
-Drayden is there as a surprise lecturer for the kids
--It’s a surprise for all the kids. He didn't even tell the twins.
Emmet had been told he could only go if he didn’t get into any fights for a week.
-‘Conveniently’ Ingo got sick the week before the trip after hearing that
--[He may or may not have poisoned himself a little]
---[[He did, and he’s very grounded when Drayden and Clay figure it out]]
----[[[Emmet is also furious, since Ingo didn’t let him in on that plan]]]
While at the museum, Drayden is chatting with a couple of the employees in a semi-hedden nook, when he sees Ingo getting pushed around by some other kids, literally, while one of them roots through his backpack
-A group of four or five other kids have him literally cornered
Before Drayden can step in, though, Emmet races around a corner and shoulder checks one, shoves another, grabs Ingo’s backpack, and then stands in between Ingo and the bullies with his fists raised
“You really never learn, do you?” one of the bullies sneers before laughing and giving a ‘distressed’ shout of “MISS L!! EMMET’S DOING IT AGAIN!”
-As if on cue, one of the kids punches himself in the face hard enough to leave a mark, and a girl starts to cry
The boy’s teacher comes around the corner and gives a disappointed and weary sigh
-“You were doing so well last week Emmet, why are you acting up now?”
--She’s not a bad teacher, just inexperienced, this is her first class as a full-fledged teacher.
--On top of that, the bullies always act like the sweetest kids in front of any adults, and even other kids. Ingo and Emmet are their chosen targets, and are the only ones to see them for who they really are.
--So the stories on what happened are always a four or five against two, with the two being siblings who would obviously lie to protect each other.
---[[And also: New York School System 20 years ago.]]
Before she can say anything else, Drayden clears his throat and steps out from where he was somewhat hidden from view alongside the museum employees he’d been talking to
-All the kids freeze
--The bullies all go pale, and the girl instantly stops crying, as they realize they’re done for
The employees step forward and start to tell the teacher exactly what they saw
--Ingo and Emmet stare at Drayden in relief, before actually processing that he was there and go on identical face journeys of confusion and a bit of trepidation
---They knew he wouldn't be happy that they'd been hiding this
-The teacher is, naturally, horrified, and looks at the kids with something akin to betrayal
-The bullies are openly glaring/pouting at the museum employees
-By now some of the other kids and parent volunteers [including at least one of the bullies’ parents] hear the bullyès shout for the teacher and are present and hearing the reveal of the bullies’ true colors.
--Lots of kids are upset by this. Nobody likes discovering that people they  considered a friend were actively being cruel to someone behind their back.
Meanwhile, Drayden decides to forgo respecting the twin’s decision to hide their relation to him for once, because making sure Ingo isn’t hurt is his priority
-Ingo and Emmet share a look and simultaneously decide that they’re done hiding that Uncle Drayden is their Uncle
--They’re old enough now that they can tell real friends from fake friends
---…Also  they want to rub it in the bullies faces
----Ingo just straight up says something along the lines of "I told you it wasn't Emmet's fault Uncle Drayden!" pulling a face at Drayden "I said they started it!"
----"You did,” Drayden acknowledges, not entirely surprised that the twins decided to reveal their relation in this scenerio, “and I'm sorry for not listening when you said that, however 'They started it' is very different from 'they were bullying me and Emmet was defending me', Ingo. Have all of Emmet’s fights been situations like this?"
----The twins nod fervently and Drayden gives an exhausted sigh “I see.”
The bullies, as well as several of the other spectators, freeze when they hear Ingo say ‘Uncle Drayden’ and turn to see Gym Leader Drayden fussing over Ingo’s injuries like a parent while Emmet hovers over his shoulder
-Their teacher also didn’t know he was their legal guardian, though the principal of the school did. It was on their records
Naturally, the teacher apologises the the twins and Drayden profusely
Drayden still does his speech for the kids, with Ingo and Emmet as assistants, and then after the field trip ends takes them home straight from the museum and called Clay, who came over so they could sit the boys down and talk it all out
And all ended well.
-Until a week later when Emmet found out how Ingo had ‘gotten sick’ and told immediately told Drayden and Clay [to Ingo’s betrayal]
--And Ingo was grounded for a month
---For purposefully letting a Pokémon poison him. Repeatedly.
----Gee, I sure hope he never does that again. As an adult. In order to sleep or something.😉
These second two had some extra differences, primarily an added antagonist in the form of the twins having a Bad Teacher, detailed below for context:
On top of that, the twins’ primary teacher, Mrs. Beckham, was…not great
-She disliked the boys for some arbitrary reason
--Could be anything from ‘she hates twins for some reason’ to ‘one of them corrected her on something in from of the class’
---Maybe she just picks one student a year to be her scapegoat
---Just super petty, awful teacher
--She ignored the bullies, but not Emmet standing up for Ingo, which led to many phone calls home about him fighting
--She’d ‘lose’ their homework
--She’d let the other kids blame them for everything
---All in all, bad time for the Train Babies
Emmet and Ingo tried to tell Clay and Drayden in the beginning
-But sadly after getting a call from the school saying their kid got into a fight, most people don’t take “the teacher’s a liar!” as an explanation
--They stopped trying after the first few times, when it became obvious that their Uncles wouldn’t believe them
---Which hurt. A Lot.
Drayden and Clay knew something was up though, and it worried them
-Ingo had started to become quiet and withdrawn, sometimes not saying anything for days, and the spark in his eyes seemed to be going out
-Emmet was lashing out at school, was always angry at home,
-And on top of that, both of them had several """missing""" assignments
-This version would probably led to Ingo and Emmet having trust issues regarding adults
VERSION 2
Clay at the school in his normal outfit to give a talk to an older, like high school age, class about career options
He steps out at lunch to grab a bite and on his way, he spots Ingo sitting against a wall reading a book
-Then some kids come over, steal his book, and start harassing him
Before he can step in, though, there’s a blur of white jumping out the window and Emmet is shoving the other kids away from Ingo and handing his book back
-Emmet was in Lunchtime Detention, and Ingo was very purposefully sitting under a window to the classroom he was in
--Clay gets a sinking suspicion that they’ve been missing something obvious about the whole Fighting Issue
Then the lunch monitor, who he recognises at their teacher, Mrs. Beckham, shows up
-And scolds Emmet, which is somewhat understandable,
--But then she scolds Ingo? For causing a fight??
---That’s when he intervenes
----When Ingo and Emmet see him they freeze like deer in headlights
Mrs. Beckham doesn't recognize him as the twins’ uncle, just Gym Leader Clay
She tries to play it off, telling him [him!] that the boys [his boys!] are troublemakers, and that the other kids were just goofing around
-As if Ingo hadn’t literally been making himself small before the other kids came up to him, and hadn’t acted like he expected them to hit him!
--Ingo looks close to tears and Emmet is glaring at the ground with his hands clenched so tight that his knuckles are turning white
“Ingo, Emmet? Go get yer things.”
- “Sir! I don’t know who you think you are-”
--“I think I’m the man you told not two weeks ago that Emmet was attacking his classmates ‘fer no reason’, and didn’t tell that Ingo was being bullied.”
---Mrs. Beckham pales as she suddenly does recognize him
-“I mean it boys, I’m taking y’all home, git.”
--“Yes Uncle Clay.” “Yes Uncle Clay” *Emmet runs off, Ingo only walks a little away but Clay doesn’t notice because he’s death glaring Mrs. Beckham*
---A small crowd of had gathered as the kids saw Gym Leader Clay
----So several of Ingo and Emmet’s bullies just heard them call Gym Leader Clay ‘Uncle Clay’
Ingo and Emmet’s only friend, the child of the principal or something, recognizes that Clay is a Safe Adult who will protect Ingo and Emmet from Mrs. Beckham, and gleefully gives ALL the details she can remember
-Mrs. Beckham is pale as a sheet
-Clay is literally red and shaking with anger
“I am going to the office to check them out, and talk to the principal about this. Then I am taking my boys home. And you’d better believe that when Drayden gets back from that Dragon Tamer’s conference we’re pulling them out of this damned school.”
-Mrs. Beckham:”...Drayden?”
--“Yep, he’s their legal guardian. I’m just helping him raise them.”
---“You’re our uncle too.” Ingo says from behind him
----“I thought I said to go get your things?”
-----“Emmet’s getting them. He hides my stuff with his so the other kids don’t break it.”
------That is the last thing Clay needed to hear
Clay takes the boys out for ice cream and they talk
-“Why didn’t you boys tell us about this?”
-Ingo: “We did.”
-“Eh?”
--Ingo is very quiet, which Clay is now realising he should have seen as a bigger red flag than he did, and he can’t hear what Ingo just said
-“We did.”
-“Kiddo, I can’t hear ya, I need-”
-“We did!! I told you both she was lying! I told you the first whole bunch of times! You didn’t believe me!!”
More apologies are made, and then Clay takes the boys home
-On the way they stop to rent a movie that the boys had wanted to see in theatres, but not been allowed to because of Emmet’s “”fighting””
While the twins watch their movie, Clay collapses into a kitchen chair and buries his head in his hands for a while before phoning the centre Drayden’s conference is at
-Drayden’s answers the phone hoping it’s not something like “Emmet put a kid in the hospital.”
--He changes his mind. He would have rather “Emmet put a kid in the hospital.” to “Ingo’s been getting bullied, Emmet’s ‘fights’ were all him defending Ingo, and their teacher has been emotionally and verbally abusing them”
Drayden goes home early and the twins find out when he arrives that evening, yanks them into a bear hug, and apologises for not listening when they tried to tell them about their teacher.
VERSION 3
The Uncles have to go to a Gym Leaders meeting and drag the boys along
-Normally this would mean a Day Out, but the twins are grounded
--They’re going to sit in an office during the meeting and work on all the homework their teacher says is missing
The meeting is at Mistralton Gym and to their surprise their classmate Skyla is there
-They try to hide, but Skyla sees them and is very confused at first
--Skyla never bullied them, but she stared at them and wrote stuff down a lot, so they both thought she was planning something
---Which she was, but not how they thought
----Skyla was A Girl on A Mission, and had been planning to follow the boys home to give their Adults the notebook
At Lunch Skyla approaches them, and pulls a notebook out of her bag
-She went to visit her grandpa straight from school, and in her school bag was her Notebook
--She tells them point blank to his face that she’s their classmate and their teacher is bad, with all the authority a nine-year-old can command
---Then she hands him the notebook with I heard her phone you once and she lied. Emmet isn’t fighting the other kids for no reason, only when they bully Ingo!”
----Clay: “What.”
The notebook is very detailed
-Every incident is dated and timed with things like “____ did this, and Mrs. Beckham yelled at Emmet for it even though he was across the room”, “____ stole Ingo’s homework and copied it so Mrs. Beckham gave Ingo a 0 Ingo for cheating off him” and “____ punched Ingo at lunch and stole his sandwich, so Emmet pushed him over and took it back. Then Mrs. Beckham yelled at Emmet for taking ___’s food and made him give him his lunch as a sorry.”
-There’s even a section in the back where she’s written down each homework assignment the class got, put a checkmark if she saw the boys hand it in, and marked whether or not the teacher graded it/gave it back.
“Mrs. Beckham is a liar!” Skyla insists furiously, and Clay and Drayden both practically see an echo of a tearful Ingo saying the same thing, several times
-Skyla used Tattletale! It’s Super Effective!
Meanwhile Ingo and Emmet stare at her in horror
-Mrs. Beckham has, at this point, convinced Ingo at least, that it’s his own fault
--The other kids wouldn’t bully Ingo if he’d stop being so disruptive [loud], distracting [weird], and rude [he’s not!]
---If Ingo weren’t getting bullied, Emmet wouldn’t be getting into fights
----If Emmet weren’t getting in fights, Uncle Drayden and Uncle Clay wouldn’t be so upset all the time
Clay and Drayen turn to look at the boys, and the moment the twins notice, Ingo runs off, panicked, and Emmet starts to cry
-The whole thing has been super stressful for both of the boys.
Drayden scoops the crying Emmet into a his arms and they go looking for Ingo
-Drayden doesn’t notice that he starts humming ‘When Truth and Ideals Clashed’, but he does, it’s instinct at his point to hum that song when he has an upset twin in his arms
--Emmet is 9, he has been in a super stressful situation for months, dealing with abuse at school and his Uncles being constantly disappointed with him at home, and was just crying heavily
---It’s been exhausting
----And now it’s finally revealed, he’s being hugged and hearing his uncle hum a song that’s always comforted him
-----By the time they find Ingo, Emmet is asleep in Drayden’s arms
Ingo crammed himself into a very tiny, dark place to hide
-Small enough for a child to get in, too small for either Drayden or Clay to reach him
--Like under a small stairwell or under a storage shelf
Once Drayden and Clay finally track him down, they have a hell of a time coaxing him out
-They start talking, trying to convince him they’re not angry that he was being bullied
--It’s hard to convince a child you’re not angry when you’re getting angrier the more they speak [just not angry at them]
---“I’ve been trying to be good, I swear! I stopped being loud, I stopped being weird. I don’t know what else I’m doing that makes them mad at me, but I’ll stop! Promise!”
---“I told Emmet to just leave them alone, so he’d stop getting in trouble. If I ignore them and he ignores them they’ll stop, right?”
---“It’s my fault. Mrs. Beckham was wrong about the steam engine and I said so and now she hates us.”
----The more Ingo talks from inside his hiding spot, the angrier Drayden and Clay get about the whole thing
--Finally Skyla finds them and climbs in with Ingo, and gently prods him out, where instantly he’s scooped into Clay’s arms.
---That’s when he realises they really aren’t mad at him and starts to cry himself.
----Drayden passes the still-asleep Emmet to Clay and grabs Ingo in a hug himself
Clay and Drayden leave the meeting early, citing Family Emergency, and take the physically and mentally exhausted twins back to their hotel room
-Step one is “the kids aren’t grounded anymore.” “Obviously not.”
-Step two is apologising to the boys for not listening when they said their teacher was lying, and for not intervening properly when they started to change the way they did.
--They should have looked closer
---They’re both kicking themselves that they let this happen
-Step three is they take the boys to Nimbasa City for the weekend as a start to making it up to them for what they’ve been through the past few months
-Step four is pull the boys out of school and press charges
The last two would have led to the boys transferring schools where they'd meet Elesa. Skyla would follow them to their new school in version 3, since Schuyler would have just found out that her teacher had been abusing two of her classmates and would tell her parents

Hi!
I had this idea for the imposter au for a while so here it is. Its essentially what i think the 'reveal' in the au could play out as.
I dont actually imagine that they get exposed publicly (im too soft and they would be devestated), but i do imagine the wrong people catch wind of them being rumoured to be pokemon and attempt to kidnap them. I imagine this group are interested in how alike pokemon and humans are and want to not so ethically test their limits.
Since theyre pokemon, moves probably work quicker on them so sleep powder or spore can take care of them.
Since i like picking on Ingo, he gets to be the one kidnapped! They dont expose him - that would make it easier to locate him since they would be looking for a human instead of a zoroark. Best let everyone look for a person that doesnt really exsist.
I imagine that Ingo and Emmet either heard rumours about them or encountered them before (maybe one of the reasons why theyre terrified of being exposed). So when he's told about Ingo's disappearance (maybe it was caught on tape) he flips out on Drayden and Elesa. Probably saying this only happened because they kept looking and telling everyone and now Ingo is in danger - do you not know what they do to pokemon like us?
They feel extreamly guilty and would try and help get ingo freed. I imagine that the league would be told theyre pokemon (So they know how to look for Ingo) and then they find him. Hes okay at the end of it but now the league knows and its awkward.
I think after the whole kidnapping they make sure it never gets out and while Ingo and Emmet are wary of Drayden and Elesa, they do reach a middle ground (since not everyone knows here). Plus that means they dont have to constantly hide around the league now that they know (After theyre comfortable). They still get to be the subway bosses and carry on as normal.
Sorry for the long post. I just had this in my head for a while.
Oo!! That is a fun idea!! Perhaps not what I’d consider canon to the main au, but still something worth thinking about!! Plus, it gives me some ideas about how to make it easier for the twins to get Back To Their Lives at the end of things. Anyways! Back to yours!
Maaaan, Emmett would be devastated!!! All alone, stressed out, paranoid and fearing for his safety- for Ingo’s safety!
He has no idea where his brother is, but he knows these people, and he knows he does not like them. Perhaps they’re the reason he and Ingo met in the first place! They wanted to experiment with Pokémon capable of changing their forms or something, I dunno.
Anyways! Drayden would be horrified. Elesa would be as well! They caused the rumours to start spreading, and now they have a terrified Emmett who looks half melted from stress crying and yelling at them that they took his brother and it’s your fault. Guilt for the both of them! And more knowledge about the two’s past than they’d ever wanted, when he calms down enough to breathe and explain what’s going on.
Perhaps the two met to talk about Ingo’s disappearance (and their suspicions), only to have Emmett barging in through the door and everything going to utter shit.
These poor excuses for people are a fairly small organisation. Run by a handful of scientists researching the relation between pokemon and humans (they were once one, after all), these scientists turned away from more conventional (and legal) methods in order to conduct their own unethical experiments. They hired a couple of grunts (who had connections) to collect Pokémon (and certain humans) for their research, and took a special interest in the two subway bosses with the little rumours being spread around.
And what luck! The rumours were true! A Pokémon, masquerading as a human! And succeeding, at that! It had even taught itself human language!!! What a discovery. What a marvel. And they want to understand every inch of it.
Perhaps they didn’t grab Emmett because they thought only one of the twins was a Pokémon? I mean, what are the odds that two wildly successful trainers are both Pokémon pretending to be humans? It sounds absurd. So they observed the two… and decided that the one who didn’t emote was clearly not human! Because obviously all humans emote!
This is merely an animal making an attempt at seeming human. They just want to understand why.
(Aka they’re complete dehumanising assholes)
As for the league, it probably starts with Skyla (because I am fond of Elesa and Skyla crushing on each other)- Elesa reaches out to her for help, and it spreads from there to a few other gym leaders and the league themselves. Drayden also pretty much definitely has his own connections with them. I don’t remember enough about them to speculate much, though!
But with so few people knowing it’s probably far easier to put them back where they belong, together. And they get to bring down those scientists and their associates! And, most importantly, rescue everyone who’d been taken by the organisation. (Probably not many- but most likely way more Pokémon than people).
