Could you imagine if a conversation about public health could happen in like any context without the specter of The Fatties being brought up as a clearer and more present danger than whatever is the actual topic at hand.

#and you know it’s never something like ‘how do we develop a health and welness framework that actually works for large bodies’#it’s always ‘how can I continue berating and dehumanizing fat people about their weight’#and listen it’s not so much that my body size has no relationship to my overall health #but like no one’s ever actually died of fat #and even if a significant amount of people had that still wouldn’t be a moral issue to shame and abuse people about #however at the end of the day a vanishingly small amount of people jumping to shout ‘obesity’ in an unrelated public health discussion #actually gives a shit about changing public health putcomes or w/e #unless it’s eliminating people they don’t like looking at from dignified public existence
