Navratra 2020 The week long festivities end with a plate of happiness that is a perfect way of summarising the Hindu day of ashtmi and navmi. The Navratri is an ode to the 9 avatars of Maa Durga and we sort of believe that life becomes all good when Ma appears:) And Kanjak is celebrated on either ashtami or navami (the eighth or ninth day) of Navratri. It's just another way of paying gratitude to the Supreme Goddess. The girls are welcomed into the house by first washing their feet and then tying moli (red thread) around their wrists. These girls are seated and given halwa, poori and chole (also known as 'bhog') along with all kinds of gifts: pencil boxes, hair clips, clothes etc A lot of beliefs say that the girls who haven’t hit the puberty are supposed to be worshipped because they are pure but our parents have always put us first and say ... no matter what age you are in, you will always be the Godess:) happy Kanjak people❤️ . . .
