- ARE YOU A BRAND? - IS YOUR COMPANY A BRAND? - ARE YOU YOUR COMPANY’S BRAND? - CAN YOU BE YOUR COMPANY’S BRAND STRATEGY? A couple of days ago, someone asked me for a profile. When I sent it to him, without reading the information I presented, his immediate response was “It’s not about you ooo, its about your company”. I responded with “If you read it, it’s about my company more than me.” Simply put, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from your competitors'. Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be. Who you are should be based to some extent on who your target customers want and need you to be. Your brand strategy is how, what, where, when and to whom you plan on communicating and delivering on your brand messages. What you advertise is part of your brand strategy. You as the individual is the added value brought to your company's products or services that makes up its brand. Defining your brand is like a journey of business self-discovery but it really still boils down to you! You need to be able to Integrate your brand with your personal values and the ambitions behind why you started in the first place. Create a "voice" for your company that reflects the brand promise you create and stay true to it. You can highlight your craft but protect your privacy at the same time. And if you don’t let the world know what you are made of, who will? PR - Public relations is a strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations/individuals and their publics Organizations/individuals who want to gain wide recognition often pay for PR Specialists. A public relations specialist is someone who creates and maintains a favourable public image for their employer or client. They write material for media releases, plan and direct public relations programs, and raise funds for their organizations. But this comes at a cost of course. Until you can afford one, what are you personally doing to help your self with your PR needs? You are your best PR. No one knows you more than you. No one can sell you more than you. Then we have the issue of, nobody knows me. How do I get out there? Until you throw a spot light on yourself, you won’t be seen. You can attract recognition without bragging.
