So I finished Aggretsuko, it was nice so I made lazy sketches

My favorite was season 3, and my least might be season 4 but probs because my tiny brain doesn’t understand much about business stuffs and tax frauds

It’s funny because 3 years ago I made a fanart and shared a few thoughts on the show's first 2 seasons, one of which was that I wasn’t sure how I felt about Haida and oh boy oh boy

Let's say that my favorite scene from S4 was when Retsuko slapped him for being such a possessive creep with her

Speaking of, I want to point how thrilled Haida is whenever Retsuko compliments him, like he even keeps count of it because of how little she ever does, actually Is,, Is that supposed to be cute ? I can't keep track of how many times she roasts his sorry ass, and bitch just confirms that she rarely ever says anything nice to him

But on a positive note, I really really appreciate the diversity in terms of women characters, they're all very unique and feel real, I love them all (except Fenneko, wtf Fenneko)

I feel like it was a missed opportunity to not include Himuro in S5. They only mentioned him once which is kind of crazy considering how much of an impact he had on Haida.

I think it'd be interesting if Himuro had to use a cane after breaking his leg. He wouldn't be able to work out like he used to which would depress him. So he'd try really hard to get a new job to distract himself and get his energy out that way.

Another interesting idea is Himuro becoming Jiro's political accountant. Not exactly CEO status but it's a high paying job in a field he's skilled at. And it'd create funny drama!

So what did you think of that last season of Aggretetsuko?

It’s been a while since I watched it, but I do have my raw thoughts about it I sent to Rexx. (Warning I get a bit ranty so if you liked S5 maybe don’t read it haha)

In summary, I was never a huge fan of Retsuko/Haida but respect the show wanting the relationship (just not how they handled it). I still like Shikabane. Fenneko deserved better. Someone pointed out how Tadano basically drives a bunch of people who were using the cyber cafe into homelessness so thanks best boy (srsly I thought with him complaining about his massive house it was hinting to them setting up the campaign there).

The only opinion I’m changing from that initial DM is that maybe for the marriage it was going for “oh hey we don’t need a big fancy wedding to show we’re in love” which would subvert Retsuko’s goal of getting married with a wedding, but I feel like it still wasn’t touched upon too deeply considering all the previous motifs of weddings in the show.

I mean I get the message older generation vs the modern society young people want to curate. But they tried to pack in so much in so little time.

Tldr still probably a better outcome for Retsuko than ending up on a island, befriending a alcoholic horse and getting beaten to death with a microphone by a teen with 8th grader syndrome 👍
