CHRISTMAS IS HERE -- bringing good cheer.

It is the most wonderful time of the year. The time of baking cookies and decorating the Christmas tree, of wrapping presents and spending time with your loved ones. This year, to invite the holiday spirit into the lovely little home we’ve built with each other here at adhonoremrp, we came up with a little special treat just for you. Our own OOC Secret Santa Event.

Since we all know that this time of year is very stressful for a lot of folks, we wanted to make sure that the event is non-mandatory. To sign up, you have until December 9th to message the main and let us know you’d like to join us in our celebration.

On December 10th, we sent all participants a message informing them of who their recipient will be. To put the secret in Secret Santa, it is imperative that you do not tell them before the big reveal.

This is where the fun starts. You now have two weeks time to prepare your gift - which can be whatever you like. Anything goes, be it an edit, a moodboard, a manip, a pinterest board or playlist, a sweet starter, filling an extra wanted wc, or anything else you can come up with. 

Starting on December 24th, you now get to decorate the dash with your lovely creations by posting them for the big reveal. It will give all of us a chance to maybe spend a few minutes of the holidays to really appreciate all the talented people we have here.

If at any point between sign up and gift reveal you feel like dropping out, just shoot the main a message, so we can prepare a little something for your recipient instead to make sure no one goes without a gift. You may but absolutely do not have to give us a reason for that decision and you will absolutely not be judged. This is supposed to be a fun time for everyone involved and not meant to put extra stress on you.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you and are already excited to see all the fun things you will come up with to make our first Christmas together here at adhonorem an extra special one.

things are a little busy behind the scenes at the moment, so we (admin jaime and admin kels) have made the decision to bring another admin on board!

we are super excited to announce that our beautiful mod mel, will be coming on board as an admin! we know she’ll be a massive asset (as if she isn’t already, she works so hard!) and you can reach out to her for anything you need regarding the roleplay.

please join us in giving her a big pat on the back and a round of cheers! we can’t believe it’s been over a year since we opened and we’re as strong and as active as ever. you are all so amazing and we’re so lucky to have such a great little community here! we love you all.

Christmas truly is the time of giving. So, while you give us fantastic posts and marvelous characters to ogle at every single day, we went ahead and got a little something something for you as well! We dolled up the main for the occasion in our beautiful new theme that comes with lots of fun little gadgets that we explained for you under the cut. Happy holidays!

HOVER NAV – The links aren’t quite where they used to be anymore. To get to them now, you simply have to hover over the header image for them to be revealed. Like magic, huh?

THE EVENT ICON – The first icon in the top right corner of our header is our new event icon. By clicking on it, you will get a quick overview over our current (or upcoming) event with a direct link to bring you straight to the event post.

THE CLIMATE ICON – With people from pretty much all over the world gathered here, it can be a bit of hassle to keep track of the British weather. To help with that a little, we gave you a convenient little button to click on to show you the general climate of whatever season we are currently in.

THE VISION ICON – We always try our best to make this place as accessible as possible for everyone involved. So while we were on the topic of changing themes, we also gave you a quick button to click if the light font on a dark background ever becomes a little too straining on the eyes. By clicking it, the whole theme will change into a light colorway for you to switch to. Clicking again or navigating to another page will revert it into our nice dark mode standard.

OOC CALENDER - The calander at the bottom of our sidebars has a few bright pink numbers to help keep track of any important dates. This month, we have quite a few, so hover over them for a quick reminder of what’s coming up!

hello lovely people! i have seen a few gif commissioners around lately and have interacted with a few personally and thought i’d just make a little post so that if anyone needs commissions, they have some amazing options!

#1 -- @katherine-mcnamara is one of my fav people ever and makes incredible gifs. absolute sweetheart. 10000/10 a++ #2 - @hannahcommissions is an absolute delight and has some opens slots currently!! also if you just feel the urge to buy someone a coffee on ko-fi, go love on her. she deserves it!!

and the following are restricted, but going to be accepted on a case by case basis so can be applied for still - (if in doubt, flick us a message or send an anon!)

this will be reviewed at a later date if our ratios change. we currently have a large number of all of these abilities and species, and they are rare in the wizarding world, so we’d like to keep them as special and unique as they are! any questions, you know where to find us!

The long wait is over. The stockings are filled, the presents are wrapped, and surely you all have been behaving extra well this year to get on Santa’s nice list. And even if you haven’t - it’s kinda too late for that now. Because it is GIFT TIME! All participants of the Secret Santa gift exchange are now officially welcome to go ahead and post their presents. FIGHT NIGHT will begin on OCTOBER 10th at 10pm EST

the fighters have been confirmed, the entertainment has been arranged, and now you just have to pay the cover charge at the door. we are on the way! once the bouncer has confirmed that everyone is in for the night, all wands are confiscated, and the fighters are ready to go, the event will begin! a list will be posted then informing you of the matches and in what order they will take place. for now, there is listed below all FIGHTERS and their ALIAS which they will be using for ‘legal’ purposes. additionally, all STAFFED positions for the evening. if for any reason something has been missed, please send a message to the main so that it can be updated as soon as possible.

what is fight night?

jackson flint and seraphina parkinson regularly host an underground fight club. fight night is one of their big tournament bouts.

how is fight club different from duelling?

the first rule of fight club is don’t talk about fight club. the second rule is no magic allowed. it is a hand to hand combat only tournament. wands are taken at the door.

is this legal?

no.

why is no one getting arrested?

seraphina’s brother is the head of the magical law enforcement department of the ministry.

who is invited?

anyone who wants to participate in fight night simply has to pay the bouncer a cover charge to enter. you could dare to sneak in at the risk of a few fists, though.

are there things to do if you aren’t fighting?

hell yes. there will be music, drinking, betting, and even more to come.

how do I sign up?

in character, they will be signing up and paying a fee with either jackson or seraphina. out of character, if you would like your character to be a FIGHTING participant in fight night, please send in to the main by OCTOBER 9th:

“The explosion at the Ministry and Gringotts rocked the entire magical community, and a time has marched on as clean up efforts have begun. While some are grieving and mourning their losses, others are throwing themselves into the efforts to clear and rebuild. For any Ministry officials working, temporary offices have been set up, and any requests for further accommodations can be placed with the Ministers directly line of communication for consideration.

While the explosion is still under investigation, Ministry officials are working tirelessly to find and provide every answer they can. The Ministry exploded in early August. As many threads are currently post explosion, the current date in game is late August. Please time your threads accordingly.

You are free to continue all threads set during the explosion, but ask that any starters you write moving forward are post explosion.

There will be a memorial event held for the injured, lives lost, and the brave souls who helped with the destruction. More details in the discord server.

HELP WANTED

the following jobs have been posted as wanted FIGHT NIGHT positions:

bartenders || will tend bar

servers || will serve drinks and food with trays & bus anything that needs cleaned

catering || will supply the food for the evening

bookmakers || will help keep track of the betting

on site healers (no wands) || will keep the fighters in shape, but no magic is allowed on site

round card bimbo || will count the rounds

musical act & dancers || will perform between rounds

bouncers || will keep the troublemakers in line and all wands out

in character, they will have been hired by seraphina parkinson or jackson flint for the night. they will be paid at the END of the event. all gambling for the night is being facilitated by under the arch and those involved will have therefore been in contact with george calloway. bartenders and wait staff for the event was arranged by malcolm greengrass and will have been staffed by him. if you would like to have your character filling any of these specific roles, send to the main by OCTOBER 9th:
