miss nico robin the 2nd in charge of baroque works who only knows how to use and be used by others for personal gain!!

showing up on the merry not to really threaten them directly but to impose on them the danger by toying with the lot of them

she holds so much power over them in this scene too like where she's physically placed. the taking of luffy's hat. the surprise appearance. robin's a real threat to them.

but rereading it, at the same time, you know she never was. because at the end of the day, robin is gentle. she has no need to keep crocodile safe, but at the same time she has no need to suggest the straw hats go elsewhere.

why else would she offer them a literal shortcut? it's not even like it'd help get reach her own goals faster either.

it's a glimpse at the person she grows into after the strawhats, after enies lobby, after the timeskip. it's meeting them that plants the seed and tbh i think it starts here.
