" You have the deal Hemmings. " the businessman shook his hand as they nodded to eachother.

" Double profits for both of us, it is a deal not to be wasted away. " Luke smirked a little before his client signed the papers.

Luke Robert Hemmings, a single Wall Street executive. One of the best in his age, he just finished persuading one of the lead global investors into a multi million dollar merger for the company he was assigned to.

" But Luke that's christmas eve ! No one's gonna be there for a meeting, everyone will be all camped inside. With christmas carols and hot mug of cocoa— " Luke glared at his boss, like he was the one who owns the company as he waved his hand dismissively.

" Croix, do you want the deal or not ? And besides it's the morning after. We have to act fast, today he might have agreed to sign, the next day he might have changed his mind. Don't be contented to a pre signed contract. " Luke sighed as he patted his boss's shoulder.

" Alright. Then I have to cancel my plans with my daughter then. " Luke furrowed his eyebrows at this.

He wasn't keen on relationship matters with his 'work mates' he better keep it hidden under the rug. It was all work to him, giving sympathy to the old man wasn't his job because he wasn't a companion to start with.

" You can go home after the meeting. Until then tell your daughter that it's important. " He said before smiling a little, the old man nodded sighing.

" Don't you have someone to be with this holiday ? " Luke chuckled softly, shaking his head.

" I don't do holidays Arthur. "

" Hemmings, good to see you ! " Michael Clifford had his asshole smirk plastered in his face.

" Clifford, I could say the same. " Luke rolled his eyes, he was with his secretary revising and adding more details into the contract.

Michael had his toothy grin as he entered the elevator. One of the executives of the other company, Luke's competitor. The elevator was filled with men dressed in their tailored suits, some women in their professional attires.

" Mr. Hemmings I forgot to mention about a call. " Cynthia spoke in a hush voice, he regarded for her to continue.

" Ms. Arondale called from New Jersey. " Michael glanced at Luke he knew who she was, as if on cue he chuckled softly.

" Arondale ? What did she say ? " he adjusted his collar, his breathing hitched for a minute or two. Before composing himself a he gave Cynthia a bored look.

" ' I'm in New Jersey, hope to see you around mister business man ' " Cynthia stated from her sticky note. The elevator dinged and everyone got out from the tenth floor.

" Helena Arondale, sounds quite familiar isn't she ? " Michael had his annoying grin which Luke disregarded.

All too familiar, he thought looking at himself through the reflective gold walls of the elevator he smirked at Michael.

" How did Banner took in your offer, Clifford ? Give me figures. " Luke played his game very well.

Piss him off, he'll triple it back and Michael was oblivious when he does this. Instead of not responding to Luke he did. And with pride and determination.

" 10, 25, 6 " Michael said with a knowing look from Luke he chuckled softly before shaking his head. Puzzled at the blonde's reaction he raised an eyebrow.

The elevator doors opened, they're in the ground floor. It was already filled with the christmas decors and carols . People in suits coming in and out, secretaries holding cups of coffees, or busy with their phones. Luke smirked at Michael as he let Cynthia come out first. He had his hand on the other man's shoulder brushing off the imaginary dust from his emerald coat.

" Better luck next time Clifford. " before he can even react Luke was already walking beside Cynthia, leaving Michael with his mouth a gape.

" Oh and Merry Christmas. " Luke had his winning grin before he looked at Cynthia.

" Disregard the call. " knowing the tone of his voice, she nodded before throwing the sticky note on the near by bin.

Luke was alone in his condominium the night before Christmas. A bottle of wine, a pack of peanuts and some sappy christmas movie was being shown on the tv. It was cold and his fuckbuddy Roe went to her father in Chicago, so he's basically alone in Christmas eve.

Walking on the desserted snowy streets of New York City, he had his coat, and gloves to cover his hands . Seeing there were no opened restaurants he settled for a convenience store, taking some chips and frozen meat cuts, when he was next in line when a man suddenly placed his hand on the metal counter.

" I won the fucking lottery dude, 2,6,16, 14. " the guy on the counter looked at the paper, squinting his eyes on it.

" Jack you can't be serious you used pencil here. " Luke sighed in boredom as he watched the scene unfold infront of him.

" A— Alex right ? Dude I fucking won, I even got the receipt. " The guy in the hoodie waved at the guy.

" It's in pencil Jack. I suggest you get the fuck out. " Alex said sternly before giving the paper back on the guy.

" Ale— "

" That will be 10.50 dollars sir. " Alex the cashier guy disregarded the man, he clenched his fist and jaw before they even react he had Alex locked in his arms.

" I fucking told you I won the lottery. " Jack hissed as he pointed the gun on Alex's head. Luke was in panic, his blue eyes widen.

" Anybody who fucking dares to move I'll fucking shoot ! " Jack announced, before he pushed Alex on the cashier back again letting him go as he pointed the gun.

" Get my fucking money you Bastard ! " he shouted as his eyes glanced at Alex and Luke who was staring at him in fear. Alex was suddenly covered his face in, shaking in fear.

" Get the fucking money ! " Jack shouted as he pointed the gun.

" I don't have the money ! " Alex screamed in terror still shaking. Luke stared at him before he put his hands down.

" You fucking dare move tree I shoot your fucking brains out ! " Jack had his eyes and gun on Luke.

He breathed heavily as he composed himself in a manner Jack would relax.

" How much is it ? I'm willing to pay just don't hurt anyone in here. " Luke said calmly masking his fear, as he took his wallet from his pocket.

" 500 dollars ! " Jack shouted his eyes still on Luke as he looked at his wallet.

" Al—Alright I'll buy your ticket. " Jack suddenly bursted out laughing, the people stared at him.

" I like you Luke, very good at negotiating. " Luke was taken back staring at Jack surprisingly.

" Come on man, let's talk about business. " Jack slinged his arm on Luke, he was comparably tall.
