ZAMBOANGA CITY – The local police's anti-illegal drugs unit arrested four newly-identified drug personalities in separate law enforcement operations in this southern port city, an official said Tuesday. Maj. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified those arrested as Norsan Hairal, 46; Alfasser Salim, 18; Mudzna Abduhamid, 44 and Zunnuh Almidzri Dacumus, 44. Galvez said the anti-drug operatives seized from the possessions of Hairal and Salim some PHP12,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when they were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:20 p.m. Monday in Barangay Arena Blanco, this city. Abduhamid and Dacumus, meanwhile, were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 7:50 p.m. Monday along Gov. Ramos Avenue, Barangay Santa Maria here, police said. The two suspects yielded some PHP60,000 worth of suspected shabu, a coin purse, and PHP200 marked money. Galvez said the four suspects are now detained at the Police Stations 10 and 11 of the Zamboanga City Police Office pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. She added that all the police units in the region have been ordered to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. (PNA)
