Your finger twitched where it rested at the pocket of your shorts, where the plastic keycard you’d never returned to Chan was really tempting you. After the captain had left you in the workshop, you’d dropped into your cabin to finally take off your waist pack. You propped your new sunglasses that Felix bought you on your windowsill, as well as the little boat you’d purchased.
So now you were left with the question of what to do. If you couldn’t leave the ship but you had free time before launch, you wanted something to distract you from how you couldn’t visit the beach. It absolutely made sense to try out the keycard on Minho’s new cabin and ask him what went down with Jisung.
Or, you realized, there was nothing stopping you from going straight to the source.
Besides, if you riled up Minho right now, who knew what sordid, impassioned garbage that would start. If you weren’t supposed to fool around now that you were partners, you decidedly did not feel like teasing him.
So now that left Jisung. You grabbed a couple magnet clips to hold your souvenirs down before they got flung during takeoff. Below, the waves lapped at the slipdock, making you more than a little sore that you wouldn’t be able to even touch the water. Instead of lingering on it, though, you instead slipped back out of your cabin and into the maintenance access between the workshop and the galley where Jisung’s cabin was located. You were thrilled to find it was locked. There was an opportunity to try the keycard after all. You beeped it against the knob’s keypad, just as you had with the brig to retrieve Minho earlier, and held your breath.
The door unlocked. You practically jumped, giddy to learn this when you poked your head in the door, fully expecting to find Jisung brooding at his desk. Instead, it was empty. The cabin was empty, devoid of the pilot entirely. You did a double take, now fully stepping inside and locking the door behind you. Jisung’s cabin was even more quaint during a proper day cycle, with his little knick-knacks and photos illuminated in the warm light of the setting sun. His parents, apparently, were working as private tour guides, at least according to their pictures.
A shiver ran up your spine and you realized there was a faint breeze in the empty cabin. You searched for the source of it, noting that the exhaust vent was closed, when you caught sight of the culprit.
Of course.
The access hatch was barely open, so much so that you nearly missed it.
You opened the small door and hopped down onto the metal walkway, searching up and down the passage to figure out where Jisung may have snuck off to. A faint light tinted the end of the passage, and you walked down to the hatch that led to the cargo hold. You peeked through first, looking to see if you were walking in on anything you shouldn’t be before you climbed down. The cargo hold was undisturbed, but it was oddly loud in here, considering the doors should be sealed.
You surveyed the cargo hold, looking for what could be causing the outside noise of the port to be streaming in, when the obvious answer revealed itself.
No shit, the sub-hatch door Jeongin had snuck through earlier was propped open, one measly pry bar guarding the door. Curiosity bit at you. You gently pushed the door open and set it ajar on the pry bar again before you looked around the Ambler, when you spied a pair of legs swinging over the edge of the slipdock under the nose of the ship. These clearly belonged to Jisung, you noticed, when you quietly crept closer. The pilot was sitting on the lip of the slipdock, a fishing pole in his hands and a charge clip smoking on his lip.
You were tempted to surprise him, but you were a little distracted. This looked very relaxing after a long day. Rather, you decided to plainly walk up behind him, letting him feel your presence. He raised an eyebrow when he heard your footfalls before he turned to confirm it was you sitting down next to him. You were both silent while Jisung fished and smoked, but it was clear there was a conversation that needed to happen. Minho was furious when he arrived with Jisung back at the ship. You needed to know why.
“So,” you sighed, “I hear I’m supposed to be mad at you.” The waves sounded calming against the concrete of the dock.
Jisung gave a miniscule nod. Reaching the end of his clip, he pocketed it. “You’re gonna be,” he confirmed. “You ready?”
“Not really,” you admitted. “How was jail?”
The pilot shrugged. “It was jail. Pleasant, all things considered. I got you something.”
You looked on curiously when Jisung dug something out of the pocket of his linen shirt, now unbuttoned and relaxed open. He held out a closed hand to you and you extended your upturned palm to him, where he dropped a Phaborian mating pendant, the touristy kind that Hyunjin had mentioned. The paint didn’t feel as delicately ridged as the one you’d spent all day resolving. Looking at this one more closely, it depicted the port city of the Hatchery, with the market in plain view.
But, of course, this caught you off guard. This was a mating pendant.
It took a solid moment or two for Jisung to notice you ogling the pendant, as well as him. He took a beat to decipher your expression before it dawned on him. His eyes widened with a laugh.
“It’s not romantic or anything!” he immediately reassured you. “I mean, I like you, but it’s only been, like, a few days? A week? I just didn’t know if you had a chance to grab a souvenir.”
Your tense shoulders relaxed. “That’s so sweet, Jisung,” you acknowledged, fully genuine. “It was cool that this was my first port of call. I only wish I could’ve stopped by the beach.”
Jisung gawked at you. “This whole day and you didn’t go to the beach?!”
“Well, yeah!” you defended. “I was busy!”
“Fuck busy,” Jisung shook his head. “Come on, we still have plenty of time.” He scrambled up to his feet while he wound up his reel and pulled you up alongside him, already dragging you in the direction of one of the little patches of shore between each slipdock. You maybe had a second to tuck the pendant into the pocket of your shorts. The pilot paused to pop open the sub-hatch cargo door and toss in his fishing rod before resuming his mission, grinning while he rushed you.
“Jisung!” you laughed, “it’s really fine!”
It wasn’t, but it was a little ridiculous to consider he’d go to this much effort. Any effort, really, felt like a bit much.
And Jisung ignored this, obviously, pulling you along and leading you down to the sand. It was approaching golden hour, and Jisung easily yanked you down beside him on the sand where he began to pull at your boot laces. You screamed out another laugh and tried to shove him off.
“Jisung!” you repeated. “What’s the hurry?!”
“If you’re gonna take a moment, you gotta have time,” explained Jisung, as if it were clear already.
Fair enough, you figured. You bowled over Jisung and got his shoes off as well, before you noticed he already got your socks off. The top layer of sand was hot between your toes, but underneath that was cool. You observed the sensation of the fine granules, glittering in the sun, how they felt under your fingertips and how it was just a little different from under your legs or feet. Needless to say, you’d never been to a beach. You’d never felt “real” sand. But now you needed to feel ocean water.
Jisung watched you jump up to your feet and sprint to the shore, barely taking the time to register how freezing it was now that the day was ending. And you didn’t stop at just submerging your ankles. You ran in until you started meeting the traction of the water on top of the sand. This felt amazing.
From the sand, Jisung was caught between being supportive and worrying. “You’ll catch a cold if you’re not careful!” he whined.
“That’s too bad!” you teased back, yelling over the surf. You waded further in, eager to see if you could get straight to paddling. This was exciting to a point that you didn’t even catch Jisung running out to where you were already up to your waist, until you were already being hauled back to shallower waters. You flailed in Jisung’s grip around your midsection, despite his struggling laughs.
“You’re gonna drown, you lunatic,” Jisung wheezed, before tossing you into the ankle-deep waves.
You landed on your ass with a splash, only somewhat buoyed by the sparse inches of water below you.
“Let me!” you gleefully challenged him, “then the guys will have even more reason to be pissed at you!”
Jisung didn’t have time to be offended before you grabbed him by the ankles and pulled him down, too.
The pilot smirked and shook his head. “You’re insane,” he affectionately remarked.
“You like that about me,” you refuted, shrugging and catching your breath.
“What if I do?” he chuckled.
That familiar silence slid in between you again, watching the water pool up to your hips as the waves lazily rolled in. Your knee was brushing against his where you sat together.
“The guys like you, too,” Jisung added.
“Right,” you rolled your eyes, “even Chan?”
“Especially Chan,” Jisung doubled down. “He’s just a dick, that’s all.”
“Uh huh,” you deadpanned, clearly doubtful. “He better wise up, then. I’m not a huge fan of dicks.”
You caught Jisung’s eye and flashed him a knowing look. He’d been a little bit of a dick, too, lately, but it’s not like he nearly got you killed like Chan did. Jisung quickly averted his gaze, maybe a bit guilty. Maybe he knew. Maybe he was just as bad at expressing himself as Chan, just without the personal risk that apparently involved.
Minho came to mind in that moment. Did he actually like you? Or were you just a plaything that he turned into a sidekick?
“Seungmin likes you, too,” Jisung added. He almost sounded annoyed about it.
You attempted a cool scoff. “What if he does?” you asked. “What about it?”
“It’s just that he’s an all or nothing type of guy,” he explained. “That’s all.”
“What about you?” you teased. “Are you an all or nothing type of guy?”
“Uh,” Jisung awkwardly laughed, eyes downcast. “I’m more of an or nothing guy these days.”
“But you like me,” you determined, saying it less like the question it should’ve been and more like a fact.
Jisung looked at you again, but this time like he was really looking at you. “I mean,” he began, “obviously? You’re the coolest person I’ve met in a long time. I like how you dropped everything and came along with our band of traveling idiots.”
It was your turn to look away, attempting to stave off any fluttering butterflies in your stomach. “I dunno,” you humbly replied, “I think I’m just lucky I chose your ship.”
“I think we’re lucky,” Jisung gently refuted. Cheesy. Acceptable. He swooped in, chastely kissing your cheek.
When you returned the gesture, you found that his ears had turned bright red.
This felt different from fooling around.
Jisung turned to face you more then, lingering until you did the same before he tentatively kissed you.
This felt very different from fooling around.
You and Jisung were just friends, but it was surprising to feel this close with someone, let alone in the span of a handful of days. Maybe you’d just never let anyone in before. Jisung’s eyes peeked open in surprise when he felt you lean in, meeting his push. He was delicate with you for a second, savoring this kiss on the beach with you for a couple breaths.
He almost looked as though you’d awoken a sleepwalker when you backed up an inch, easing your lips off his.
“Aren’t I supposed to be mad at you?” you asked, more than a little lightheaded. You were dizzy by now.
“I’m not ready yet,” Jisung shook his head. “I have one more thing to tell you; it’s what got me locked up for a minute today. I have a lead on a gig.”
You backed up even more now. “You do?”
Jisung nodded. “Yeah. You’re the first person I wanted to pitch it to.”
“What is it?” you warily asked. Just knowing what it was meant that you were at risk of telling Minho, honestly.
The way the pilot sighed made you think that he might have known that, too. “Sunrise Casino at Sentury Station,” he began to explain, “it’s under new management, and they apparently stowed some goods somewhere inside. I’ve been hearing word about it but I wanted to find my guy and get the details direct. His sources say it’s a security deposit box full of royal heirlooms from Victory Meridian, including an entire tiara from Clessoria.”
A giant pit formed in your stomach, and even more with the last detail, but you didn't have a chance to act on it right away. Jisung looked at the timer he apparently had on his communicator.
“We gotta get heading back,” he lamented. “Was this still a good time?”
“Yeah,” you mustered, and regretfully earnest. The bittersweetness of leaving this behind, the beach and the moment, ached in your chest. You had a feeling he and Minho were right. It was sounding like you were going to be very mad at Jisung.
Your friend got up to his feet and grabbed his shoes before you followed and did the same with your boots and jogged after him. It was a wordless, short journey.
Only once you reached the pry bar in the sub-hatch door back at the ship did you stop Jisung. He wasn’t looking at you again.
“Jisung,” you gently, nervously implored, “what exactly did you trade for that lead?”
His initial response was a defeated scoff. “I didn't trade anything. But I made it look like I would and pissed off my contact in the process, ergo my ass ending up in jail. Are you ready to be mad at me?”
An exhausted sigh fell out of you. Feelings were the worst. “Yes,” you meagerly nodded.
He winced reluctantly. “We’re friends, right?”
“Jisung!” you all but shouted, trying to get it over with.
Finally, predictably, Jisung pulled your ring out of the pocket of his shorts.
You gasped.
He sighed.
Yeah, that would definitely get him a good lead on Clessorian Ore.
You didn't yell, you didn't cuss, but Jisung flinched regardless when you silently snatched the ring out of his palm and threw open the sub-hatch door.
Thankfully, Jisung didn't run after you. He didn't call after you. He simply let you storm off, just like you needed.
And it would've been great, walking off that instant detonation of anger and emotions, except Chan was at the top of the stairs.
“Where the fuck have you been?!” he shouted, crazed and concerned. Both of you were still dripping wet.
Especially Chan, Jisung had said.
And you had to give Jisung some credit, because Chan let you storm past him and up the stairs, giving you a clear shot all the way to your cabin where you yanked the door shut behind you. You made peace with not watching the launch, instead opting to sort yourself out for a little bit. There was far too much on your mind. You were agitated, grabbing another magnetic clip for your windowsill and stubbornly determined to be pissed off while you displayed the pendant Jisung got you. The ring, however, was thrown into your bedside drawer and slammed shut with gusto.
This was fucking garbage. Jisung stole from you and very well could’ve lost your loot. This was reprehensible on multiple fronts. No honor among thieves was a well known myth, and besides, Jisung was more than a thief.
He was your friend.
Asshole.
That nagging, penetrating urge to tell someone was eating at you, maybe have a sounding board or a crumb of comfort, but you weren’t sure who to lean on. You could always vent to Felix, you figured. He was an easy option, and he was obviously close with Jisung, based on how the pilot had been the one able to calm him down the other day when everything went down with Changbin. Of course, there was always a chance he was too busy recuperating after his misadventures.
Or, you realized, there was Hyunjin. Hyunjin knew everything, you’d already been told. He could tell you if Jisung was more shady than he let on, or even if there was any credence to Jisung’s tip he’d won back at the market.
And then there was Minho. He was obvious, too. He'd want to know about the lead at Sentury. And he was the one to shake Jisung down in the first place. He’d be a great option, honestly. You even knew your keycard would work already. You just had to pick.

❝He Loves me not❞ || Diluc x Reader
Tumblr media
✧A/N: NOW THIS IS A HEAVY ONE BABES, I wanted to try something different since I mostly write lovey dovey or smutty stuff. This time I wanted to try making something more on the angsty side. Read the warnings first before proceeding !
Oh! Also, this is part of a Diluc Series I'm cooking up 👀, they are all one shots tho, none of them connect to one another. So expect more Diluc stuff from me !
✧Warning/s: Toxic Marriage, Cheating, Argument gone physical, Smut
✧Synopsis: In a modern AU wherein Diluc and you have an arranged marriage  and though at first you don't have high hopes of this union, you still gave it a chance… oh how regretful you are for such a choice.
✧Word Count: 2.9k words
Minors kindly don't interact!
He was never yours to begin with. From the moment you saw the way he looked at her…you knew you had already lost.
It was your engagement party and you have invited all of your loved ones to celebrate. Both Diluc and you are currently busy attending and chatting with the guests. Everyone kept complimenting you on how much you're practically glowing that night, that it must be good karma considering how good your life has been going so far. And you couldn't agree more, everything seems so right…so perfect.
Despite how transactional your engagement with Diluc was, this man has somehow crept into your heart. He was quite intimidating at first yet somehow you knew there was a hint of softness in him. His face would hold indifference yet his touch was warm and gentle. And for that you do not regret saying yes to meeting him.
You excuse yourself from the group of guests and want to see your soon to be husband. You couldn't seem to find him from the sea of people..strange considering that his red hair always makes him stand out. By the corner you see Rosaria and Kaeya enjoying some drinks and snacks while they converse with one another. You approach them to ask Kaeya where his brother could be.
“Hey Kae, have you seen Diluc anywhere? I can't seem to find him?” Kaeya quirks his eyebrow and puts the wine glass down his lips. “I believe he went that way, by the garden. I saw him going there with Jean.” Jean? Who in Celestia was Jean? Probably one of his relatives you thought. You thanked Kaeya and exited the banquet hall.
The garden was a little wide but it was easy enough to find your way. You ended up a little deeper into the garden and started hearing faint voices, one of which you could recognize. You don't know why, but your gut feeling told you to keep your mouth shut and approach them quietly. As you approached nearer you peaked at the two people that were hiding behind some grass walls.
Your heart sank at the sight.
Diluc had one of his arms wrapped around the woman's waist and his other hand found itself on her cheek, tenderly caressing her. His eyes…it's as if he was worshiping the very ground she walked in. And the woman…Jean, looked back at him with the same affections as she smiled at him warmly.
You retreat back to hiding behind the grass walls, yet not leaving just yet. “You're here.” Diluc spoke gently, a hint of joy in his tone. Jean gave a gentle laugh. “Yes I am, in the flesh. and I intend to stay here a little longer.” Although you cannot see what they are doing, you are most definitely sure they just share a kiss after that. Your whole body starts to shake and your eyes are getting blurry from the tears that are threatening to fall down. In that moment you can't seem to speak nor move, you felt powerless, alone and…vulnerable.
You felt betrayed and yet did nothing about it…months later you were then wed.
…He didn't even call your name during the wedding night. You know damn well that as he was thrusting himself inside you and kissing you passionately on the lips it wasn't you on his mind…it was her. Those sweet pet names he was giving you? That's all for her. And still you pretended as if you knew nothing of his crimes. As you both reached your climax tears were falling down your eyes. But these weren't because of pure bliss, but it was due to your husband calling out another woman's name silently under his breath while still burried inside you.
“Oh Jean..”
–––––––––
Fixing yourself in front of your vanity, you applied some gloss on your lips before giving it a pop to really apply the product evenly. You were almost completely dressed up for the party and were satisfied with how you looked in front of the mirror. You gave a satisfied nod to yourself before grabbing the clutch on your bed and heading to the door.
You grabbed your pair of black heels that were inside the shoe cabinet and  bent a bit to wear them ,behind you you could hear footsteps. “And where do you think you're going at this time and hour?” You didn't have to turn around to know who spoke.
“Just going to a birthday celebration, remember my friend Yelan? It's her 29th birthday.” “And where is this party located exactly?” You finished buckling the straps on your heels and stood up properly. “Just at her home, we wanted some space for ourselves and she's going to bring out her best alcohol.” You answered every question he had, but your tone sounded as if you didn't have any time for him. That irritated the red head a bit.
You turn around to face your husband, he was still in his work clothes, The sleeves of his button up were folded up and a few buttons were undone, and his red hair was down. His arms were crossed and he had his default resting bitch face. “Will be home by 10pm, don't worry I won't be drinking too much.” really though, It was unnecessary to tell him all this. In the end he doesn't care where you go, who you go with, or even what time you'll arrive home. It's always been that way.
He stopped loving you the day she entered back into his life.
“I’ll be heading off now, don't overwork.”
–––––––––
Driving slowly before coming to a full stop as you arrived at Yelans house. Her house was gorgeous, very modern and yet simplistic, just the way she likes it. You parked your car just outside her house and went for the entrance to ring her doorbell. Yelan shouted “Coming!” from a distance before rushing to open the door for you. “Ah here you are, just in time.” She gave you a quick hug before welcoming her to her home.
Thing is, no one was inside the house other than you and Yelan. She just wanted a simple birthday with her best friend, throwing some grand birthday wasn't really her thing to begin with. And you're more than happy to entertain her. “Gods glad you came! And here I thought I would celebrate this precious day all alone.” She jokingly said as we walked to her mini bar.
You hopped on to a seat as Yelan went behind the counter to make some drinks. “We both know I would definitely be coming today. It's your birthday after all! Besides, there's not much to do in that house anyways. As much as possible I’d like to get out when given the opportunity.” You rested your cheek on your palm.
Yelan gives a worried look before sighing. “Is he still hooked on…her?” She pushes a drink towards me. I scoffed and took a sip. “Yeah, he is.” Yelan rolled her eyes at that before leaving the counter and sitting beside you. “He left a few weeks ago, saying it was for business purposes…But after his trip I cleaned his bag for his laundry and found some dirty panties in one of the pockets. And obviously this isn't some souvenir he got in some stall.” You took a swing of your drink and finished the whole glass. Yelan sees this and a concerned look is on her face. You wiped any excess alcohol on the corner of your lips and continued.
“The bastard is getting sloppy.” A grim look was on your face as you're telling Yelan all this. Yelan looks at you, dead serious in the eyes. “Y/N, we both know you deserve better than this.” You look at your best friend with somber eyes. "I know, but I just—" "Ah ah stop talking for a moment." Yelan interrupts.
"I know you love him...but don't you think perhaps it's time to face the fact that Diluc doesn't love you? Because if he did, the moment he saw that woman at your engagement party he would be running straight at you, showing to everyone and to her especially that he was already spoken for."
You grip on the glass tighter. Perhaps it's not love that's keeping you in this marriage. Sure you used to love him...but all that love went down the drain the night of your honeymoon. Maybe it's guilt, guilt at the very fact that you allowed for things to get this bad. That when you had the opportunity to stop this torture sooner— you just didn't.
And now that you're married to him, you thought that you might as well finish what you've started...even though it hurts.
“...Thanks Yelan, you're really helping me through this." You gave her a quick hug. "Well anyways enough about my fucked up life, lets talk about you, yeah?” Yelan wiggled her index finger in front of you. “Oh no no no don't you dare change the subject. I'm all ears right now.”
“What? No! It's your birthday for celestia's sake, I'm not spending your precious day complaining about my marriage!” Yelan places her hand on top of yours. “My dear, I love nothing more than shit talking, so…” She grabs her drink and raises it in front of me.
“Drink up.”
–––––––––
Time seems to be flying fast as you hadn't realized it was already late at night. Not only that but you drank way past your limit, it would be dangerous to be out and about on the road, so Yelan insisted you'd stay for the night. Not having much of a choice you flopped on the bed and immediately dozed off to sleep.  By the time you woke up it was already 8 in the morning, you groaned as you stretched and sat up from the bed, rays of sunlight finding their way past the curtains.
You feel the hangover settle in, fortunately it's not that unbearable. You walked down the stairs and to the kitchen there you found breakfast was already made for you and a sticky note just near it.
‘Gonna go out for a run! Here's some breakfast and a pain reliever, if it's really unbearable don't hesitate to stay a little longer ;D’
- Yelan
You chuckled reading this before eating the breakfast infront of you. After doing so you freshened up a bit in the bathroom and cleaned up the room you just stayed in. You don't want to be inconsiderate and leave any traces of mess, especially since you're just a guest. After doing everything necessary you locked the door behind you and went to your car. You just remembered you promised Diluc that you'd be home by 10…Ah whatever, he doesn't give a damn anyways. You're even sure that by now he's still rested nicely in his bed.
While on the road you reflect back to what Yelan said...she's right. That night could have been different, instead of heading back home earlier to cry myself to sleep, I could've celebrated my engagement party to the fullest. Nothing but smiles and joy, with Diluc beside me...proud to be called husband and wife soon...
But that's all a fairy tail. Such delusions are far from the truth and as you reach closer to home you know exactly what you have to do.
Driving back home there wasn't any traffic on sight. Though, considering that it's a Sunday morning, most people are still in their beds resting.
After parking your car inside the garage you made your way inside your home. You threw your clutch on the couch and made your way to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. But waiting there was your husband as he was eyeing you dangerously. “What happened to being at home at 10?” He takes a sip of his coffee and looks straight at you.
You're in disbelief at his attitude, why should he even give a damn about where you've been. You divert your eyes to one of the cabinets to get a glass. “Yeah about that, I got a little too carried away with the drinks. I couldn't drive properly so I stayed there at Yelans for the night.” You poured yourself a glass of water while still avoiding eye contact. Diluc doesn't seem to like this. “Can you please look at me while talking?”
You let out a frustrated inhale and just finished your glass of water to just leave, this morning you seem to have little to no patience for Diluc. You start to walk off but Diluc gets up from his chair and follows behind you. “Hey what's going on? Talk to me!” You continue to walk up the stairs ignoring your husband. He grabs your arm and stops you before you could enter the bedroom. “What the hell is your problem? Why aren't you answering me–!” “YOU ARE THE DAMN PROBLEM ‘LUC!”
You finally blew up. After months, even years of holding it in, you finally blew up on his face. You rip your arm off from his grip. “Don't you dare pretend you don't know. Because I know we both fucking know what’s wrong.” Only the sound of heavy breathing can be heard, both of you stood there silently as you spoke in almost a whisper.
“I can't do this anymore, Luc. It fucking hurts and I can’t stand seeing your selfish lying face–!” “Then why?” Diluc interjects, he looks at you coldly. “Then why did you stay? Why didn't you say anything? If it hurts so fucking much then why did you let all of this happen–!” “Dont you fucking DARE make me the villain here, Ragnvindr!”
You point a finger towards Diluc, there was no more holding back at this point. “I have foolishly led myself to believe that I might even have a sliver of chance in your heart, but it's clear now that you're only thinking about that whore of a woman!”
“DON’T YOU DARE CALL HER THAT” “WELL AM I FUCKING WRONG? THAT'S WHAT SHE IS IN OUR MARRIAGE, RIGHT? JUST SOME DIRTY SECRET YOU HIDE.” Diluc’s hand suddenly wraps around your throat, pinning you to the wall. His grip is merciless while his eyes only bore rage. He wants to be fucking angry well two can play that game.
“Ohh what's wrong? I thought we were talking this out. Did I hit a nerve?~” You were mocking him, an almost maniac smile was on your face as you're laughing at him. His attempts to shield his woman were ridiculous, he's going so low to the point of physically hurting you. Both of your eyes never left one another, as if challenging the other to look away, but neither of you faltered.
Your grin at him, enjoying the very fact that this time the roles were reversed, this time he was the one who was agitated.
"I'm done playing pretend, so why don't you do the same." Despite how hard it was to speak, you still had some bite in you.
A vein could practically pop from Dilucs head from how angry he is, he looks at you with pure hatred– as if you are the most vile thing he has ever seen. He inches closer at you, doing his best to intimidate you more. Both of you could practically feel each other's breath– it’s hot and heavy. There were no words being exchanged yet Diluc’s eyes somehow found themselves down to your lips, they were red and plump.
You were about to agitate him a little more when suddenly his lips crashed onto yours harshly. Without thinking you accepted the kiss, his hand was still on your throat but you wouldn't have his hand in any other place. His free hand wandered down to your ass and gave it a firm squeeze, pulling you closer to him.
–––––––––
Clothes were scattered all over the floor, hands were wandering and groping everywhere. There were no signs of stopping or slowing down. At one point you found yourself on top of Diluc, straddling him and taking control instead. “Nice view, is this what she saw 2 weeks ago, hm?” You mock him, his hands are then on your hips as he forces you to push yourself deeper into him. “Shut your mouth and just keep moving.” You only go faster and deeper, Diluc groans beneath you.
While riding him you're playing with yourself to help you reach your climax faster. Diluc watches the view before him, and as much as he wants to deny it but you look fucking hot right now. All angry yet horny at the same time.
You comb some hair out of your face and look down at Diluc, you can see that he's close, but so were you. As you quicken your pace  you grab a hold of his face and force him to look at you “When you fucking cum I want you to scream my name, for once in your damn life call out the name of the woman that made you feel good.”
Diluc scoffs at this, “In your fucking dreams.” You hum in disappointment and slow down your pace. “If you don't, then I'm leaving you here with your cock still hard.” The red head groaned at this and grips on his hips a little tighter. “Fuck– fine fine!” You smile down at him. “That's better~” Quickening your pace, both of you continue to moan and pant out in pleasure, removing every single edge and hatred from 2 hours ago.
“Oh god I’m close!” Your thrusts are getting sloppier by the second, desperate for that release. On the other hand Diluc is panting beneath you as he looks at how you're taking him in so well. “Y/N I’m close too– Shit!” You grip onto his bare shoulders as you're about to cum. “Oh god I’m coming !” Shutting your eyes as you release, Diluc gives a strong thrust upwards as he releases his load inside of you.
–––––––––
It was already 3 in the morning as you got up from the bed. Diluc was still fast asleep, but this was the perfect moment to start packing up your necessary things and head out to the door. You’ll file for a divorce later, but for now…
You look down at the red head as he is sleeping peacefully. You remove the ring off your finger, the ring that felt so heavy and ingrained into your skin. You can finally lift that weight.
You head to the bathroom and get ready to leave.

Talk to us about Kaito in Harmony and Wrathful.
I genuinely cannot remember what I've posted and what I've simply ranted aggressively about in friends' dms so I guess I have no choice but to share every single thought I have about Kaito oh nooooo
In case anyone is new here and doesn't know how I work
You are not going to see an unbiased character analysis
You're about to see an unhinged rant about how goddamn obsessed I am with this character and why I love him!
Starting with Harmony!
As always, I love Kaito in this route. I think what made it so painful for me on a first playthrough was seeing so clearly all the little ways he pushed into becoming the villain when all he really needed was time to grieve. The other kids' absurdly insensitive speech that never fails to piss me off about how they couldn't stay sad and how they had keep going or Miu would've died for nothing really just served to solidify for him that no one cared about Miu after all. It always stood out to me that immediately following that scene he says "if none of us are to blame, and she's not to blame, then why's she the one that had to go?" He didn't start out blaming the others for what happened, and he was more sad than he was angry. But then the fiasco with Renamon and the library happened. They put the idea of revenge in his head. It was the illusions that turned him angry and spiteful. This one's more personal interpretation but I don't think his friends forgiving and siding with the monster that just did all that to him helped a lot with all the feelings of being alone and uncared for. Like genuinely based on the correct affinity option with him earlier he just wanted some time and space to himself to process his feelings and if he'd gotten it he probably would've been fine, it was other outside forces who made him fixate on how awful the world is.
At least for me, it was hard to really be upset with him when he was just,,,a grieving child being manipulated after losing his entire reason for living. I was just depressed the whole time.
On a first playthrough I incorrectly claimed that you don't learn anything new about him in Harmony because he acted too predictably. I would like to punch past me in the face for being so incorrect. I mean I was totally right about him acting super predictably but not about you not learning anything about him.
First, I like that learning about the sibs' past explains why he's so overprotective of Miu, why he's so distrustful, and why he thinks he has to do everything alone and can't rely on anyone's help. None of his overreactions really feel like overreactions after that imo. It's all like..."oooooh that's why he did that okay."
I like that you get to hear the other kids' thoughts about him. Cuz most of the time, Kaito doesn't really have an obvious important role in the group, y'know? He's not one of the older kids, he's not one of the younger kids, he's not a leader, he's not a caretaker, he's nobody's best friend, he doesn't exactly lighten the mood, he's just...there. But then the others talk about him and it's like oh, he's reliable, he's strong, he's sweet, he's someone to look up to, he's the kinda person who makes you feel more confident when they're around, he's someone willing to say and do the things no one else will. He does help, and they do all care a lot about him.
Mostly I think it's interesting to compare him at his absolute worst with the other characters at their worst. The other characters themselves worried that he would end up just like Shuuji because of his anger, but he never did. In fact he never even came close. He explicitly says that he blames himself and not Dracmon for being too weak to save Miu. He doesn't force but instead asks Dracmon to do the whole fusion thing. He may have been enough of a dick to make such a messed up request but by god at least it was a request. He never turns on his partner or hurts him, and he makes it very clear that he does care about him. So like him at his worst is still comparatively not as bad. From there admittedly he does really go off the rails for a bit with all the attempted murder and whatnot which I will circle back around to, but then afterwards he just? Stops? Like again compare that to Aoi being given a chance to chill tf out but instead doubling down on the murder, he actually does come to his senses and try to help. This is the part where I clarify I'm not saying any of this to be mean to Shuuji or Aoi I just mean I think it says a lot about Kaito that compared to the older kids at their worst, he at his worst isn't that bad. Like he was ultimately still someone who loved his partner and chose to listen to his friends.
Also here is a good part to copy paste something that IS from a rant in a friend's dms
the fact that right before dying Kaito isn't even like don't hurt my friends he's like I can't let Dracmon suffer for my mistakes anymore is so *head in hands* he really does love Dracmon as much as Dracmon loves him even if he was too blinded by rage and grief to realize it sooner
This route is solely responsible for how mentally ill I am about those two. The brothers ever.
I know another thing I've said before is that one of my absolute favorite things about Kaito as a character is that he has no problems acknowledging when he's wrong and owning up to his own mistakes, and this route really really shows that. Like I said before him very explicitly not blaming Dracmon for anything is very near and dear to my heart, and I do think it says a lot that him getting angry with the other kids for not saving Miu is a) the only time you ever really see him blaming someone else for his problems b) something that he doesn't even think at first and c) something he doesn't still believe in the end. It is simply not in his nature to place blame on other people, but is in his nature to admit when he screws up. The fact that again he's able to do that at his lowest point is just uuuuuuuugh I love him so much. World's goodest boy.
Circling back to the murdery doo. Maybe I'm just biased but once again I ain't even mad that he got to that point like his sister JUST died I think he's allowed to be as insane as he wants. Any normal person would lose it over having their sibling taken from them in such a gruesome way, but considering how she was like,,,his entire reason for being and the center of his whole world, honestly did he not deserve to exact vengeance on the universe at that point? He literally had nothing left to lose. Especially after the way the other kids treated him like deadass if someone had said all that shit to me after my brother died you can bet I woulda killed them right then and there I'm telling you Kaito is a MUCH better person than I am, he consistently lasts so much longer before hitting a breaking point than I ever could. He could've been so mcuh worse and I still woulda supported him like yeah go baby go get their asses make them all suffer <3 The fact that he WASN'T worse makes him unbearably endearing and adorable to me. My pookie.
I also. Have so many questions about him going around just fist fighting a bunch of Kemonogami himself. Dracmon wasn't even helping he was just 👊 it kinda makes Takuma thinking a Gotsumon would kill him in the early chapters seem like some real pussy shit ksjdkdnd
When he's not being a total loser, Kaito is actually like,,,kinda cool.
This isn't about Kaito but since I'm already talking Harmony can I take a moment to say how hilarious Piedmon is to me in this route? Obsessed with how at the end he's like oh no this wasn't part of some master plan I was legitimately okay with dying and just destroying the world with you but thanks for wimping out and giving me my consciousness back <3 He legit put his whole ass life in the hands of a pissed off child and that's SO funny to me. Like he and Kaito were legitimately in the same "I just wanna blow up the world no matter the cost" boat so it's kinda fitting that they were at least temporarily partners XD
Sometimes you gotta share a braincell with a murder clown
Anyways, Wrathful now
God Kaito is cute in this route.
He's so so so so so cute.
World's cutest boy.
I'm not gonna go into detail cuz I'm certain I've said it before but he's so goddamn sweet and empathetic in this route. Him being so worried about Aoi because he knows how he'd feel if Miu died instead of Saki is so ToT </3 We love a boy who would actually treat someone how he'd want to be treated
I've definitely said it before but I'm so insane about Wrathful being the first time Kaito really acknowledges that he's self-aware of his poor communication skills. Him blaming himself for making Aoi worse because he accidentally made her sad when he was trying to cheer her up. Him choosing NOT to go after her alone because he knew he'd make it worse. Normally he's good at acting unfazed and like he doesn't care how people interpret him, but now that he's accidentally hurt someone he actually shows how bothered he is by his inability to correctly say what he means. It's not that he doesn't know that he's like this, or that he's mean on purpose, he's just reeeeeaaaally bad with words :(
I do kinda love how in Harmony Saki mentions that she actually appreciated his willingness to say what no one else will, and in Wrathful he's the one to be like look guys I don't like it either but we have to consider that we might have to kill our friend. He was the one who wanted to save Aoi the most! Even Miu gave up on her before he did! But he was still willing to face the facts and even offer to kill her himself if no one else could do it. Like do you understand how insane it is that a 14 year old child was willing to make the decision to end someone's life alone so no one but him would have to live with that haunting them. I mean the others didn't let him go through it alone and I love them for that but CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE WAS WILLING TO BEAR THAT BURDEN FOR THEM DESPITE, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, BEING THE ONE WHO WANTED TO SAVE AOI THE MOST.
THIS FERAL GREMLIN CAN FIT SO MUCH LOVE IN HIM
Speaking of fitting so much love in him, him being so unexpectedly gentle when Aoi and Labramon were dying was *bangs my head into the wall* I can't stand him.
Kissing his forehead as we speak.
Also also speaking of that whole scene in general can we talk about how insane he is for tanking a hit from a mega when Piedmon attacked Miu? He AND the Professor both should be DEAD from pulling that kinda crap all the time ToT
Ummm I love that the botched dinner scene shows him being a) very silly and b) more polite than Takuma. What a bastard older sibling move it was tryna make Miu eat the food he didn't want 😂😂😂 He's so fucking funny. The politeness going completely out the window the second there's no need to keep up the act god bless. Menace to society fr fr.
Idk Harmony Kaito doing exactly what Kaito himself admits he would do in Wrathful is so <3 world's most self-aware boy
Vs Wrathful Kaito doing exactly what Saki said she liked about him in Harmony ;u; If she was there she would've been proud. Actually come to think of it she also said she appreciated the way he'd always put himself between them and the enemy so in Harmony he literally,,,died doing the OTHER thing she said she liked about him.
Did not expect to name drop Saki so many times in this but she's surprisingly a professional Kaito appreciator.
ALSO CIRCLING BACK TO ME LOVING KAITO FOR ALWAYS ADMITTING WHEN HE'S WRONG, I LOVE HIM BEING THE ONE TO TELL SOMEONE ELSE THAT THEY'RE ALLOWED TO MESS UP TOO. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH IT HURTS.
WRAHTUFL KAITO SAYING HE MESSES UP A LOT BUT IT'S OKAY BC HIS FRIENDS ALWAYS SET HIM STRAIGHT VS HARMONY KAITO BEIN A LIL EVIL BUT CALMING DOWN ONCE HIS FRIENDS SET HIM STRAIGHT <3
He is nothing if not consistent. World's 👏 most 👏 self 👏 aware 👏 boy.
Oh and ofc I can't go without saying Kaito's conversation with Miu in Wrathful about beating a cop up ✨️gently✨️ is peak Kaito humor. He was so cool for that btw man acab. Miu sounding so tired like he does this shit all the time 😭😭😭
Just had the very funny mental of image of a conversation like,,, "Are you amab or afab?" "Acab."
It is always morally correct to harm the police <3
Anyway uhhh in summation
I support Kaito’s rights but I also support Kaito's wrongs and I think he's the cutest boy in the whole wide world :)

"Clam it!! I'm late!!" Yeosang cusses as he swims as fast as his fins could take him.
He slept through the morning after staying up all night with Marina. He was late to work and he wasn't sure how the king would take it.
Yeosang enters the castle and asks a staff member where the king was. But from the fear of their expression as they stared at the figure behind Yeosang, he gulped having a pretty good feeling who was behind him.
"Yeosang, you're late this morning," Seonghwa says sternly as Yeosang turns around and bows to him.
"Your majesty, I deeply apologize for my mistake! I'll see to it that it won't happen again!!"
"Rise."
Yeosang stops bowing and looks up at the disappointed king in front of him.
"Did you oversleep? What happened?" Seonghwa asks him raising his brow.
I was up on the beach all night with the most beautiful human girl ever. I didn't want to leave her and...she didn't want to leave me.
Yeosang cleared his clammy throat and tried to look brave, "Right. I um, you see, last night, I was up taking care of...my friend! Who got sooo drunk last night, he crashed at my place it wasn't pleasant. Haha, one too many tuna coladas in the club! I was so tired I overslept which, is bad on me because one should never sleep on a king. Hehehe..."
Seonghwa looks at Yeosang with a serious expression. Yeosang gulped knowing he'd go to hell for lying to a king.
"Alright, seeing as you took care of someone out of a good deed. I'll let it slide. But next time, don't be late. I won't tolerate it."
"Yes, your majesty." Yeosang bowed feeling relieved he fell for his lie.
"However, I must give you a small punishment as I did have a hard time without you this morning."
Yeosang looks back up at him in worry again.
"W-what would that be, your majesty?"
"Acrostic poem using my name," Seonghwa says with a smirk.
Yeosang groans, "Ugh! What again?! I-I mean, Yes, your majesty."
"Seong."
"Seonghwa is such a great and understanding king!"
"Hwa."
"Hwaiting!~ on the throne!~"
Seonghwa laughs finding the poem cute and Yeosang looks away cringing at his poem choice.
"Hahaha, you're so good at those! I feel better now, thanks Yeosang." Seonghwa says patting Yeosang's shoulder.
"Hehet! Y-you're welcome."
Before Seonghwa could swim off, Yeosang stopped him as he had a question in his mind. They decide to go somewhere to have the conversation in private so they swim to the castle sea garden where there's no one around.
"What is it, Yeosang?"
Yeosang takes a seat on the stone bench there, "Your majesty, um...what do you think about...humans? In general."
The king sighs and puts his hands behind his back, looking at the beautiful bright coral and sea plants around them, "I've never met one before and I never want to. I don't trust them. After all, they do eat seafood, what more our people? Merpeople? That's why I ban merfolk from going up to shore to see them. I do this for their safety."
He then turns and looks at Yeosang, raising a brow, "Why do you ask me this?"
Yeosang gives a nervous smile, "Hehe no reason! Just wondering! Erm but if you met one and they're nice and...you fell in love with them...then would you pull the ban?"
Seonghwa's eyes widen, "Yeosang you didn't-"
"No! Of course not, your majesty! Hehehe this is just a hypothetical situation! From your point of view!"
Seonghwa sighs and thinks for a minute. He then shakes his head, "No, I wouldn't. One person doesn't justify a whole population. I must still take precautions. Regardless of love or hate. And although this is a hypothetical situation, it's just impossible for a merperson to fall for a human or vise versa. It just simply isn't done, Yeosang. Just like the ban...it's not allowed."
Yeosang frowns feeling his sad heart after hearing the King's words. He knows that Seonghwa's ban is just for precautions because he cares about his people he wants to protect them. But Yeosang doesn't agree with his reasoning. About the impossibility of a human and a merfolk to fall in love. Yeosang fell for Marina and yet this ban is still going on. The ban never stopped him.
"Is that all you wish to ask me?" Seonghwa asks Yeosang and he nods, bowing his head.
"Then, good day, Yeosang," Seonghwa says to him before swimming back inside the castle.
"Good day...your majesty."
Yeosang sighs and swims back inside the castle, going back to work.
:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•
Water gets splashed between Yeosang and Mingi as they play on the shore of the beach. Yeosang splashes the fish with his fins and their laughter rings in the air.
"Mingi!! Cut it out!!" Yeosang laughs.
"Yeosang likes Marina! Yeosang likes Marina! Yeosang likes Marina!" Mingi teased and sang and avoided Yeosang's splashes.
"Shut up!!"
"No~ because it's true! And you two look cute together! I mean, a human and a merman, how cute!~"
Yeosang blushes hard and hugs his tail, "Ugh I hate you."
Yeosang knew how well Mingi knew him so of course, it wouldn't take long for the smart fish to find out about the merman's crush on the human. So even though Mingi teases Yeosang, he knew he was right.
As Mingi continued to tease his friend over his crush, three pirates came up to Yeosang from behind.
"Well! What do we have here boys?!"
Yeosang quickly looks behind him and fear fills his eyes as he sees the three pirates behind him. One, perhaps the captain as he wore a tricorn hat and a black coat, his hair white as the clouds in the sky. The second one, perhaps the first mate, hair black with a green streak in his bangs and a black eyepatch across his left eye. The third one, lilac hair and a smirk plastered across his face.
"Looks like a little merman, Captain Hongjoong!"
"Right you are San!"
"He's probably worth a lot of gold eh Captain?"
"Aye Wooyoung, a lot of gold. A lot." Captain Hongjoong says with a smirk while the other two pirates laughed.
Wooyoung and San took out a large net and threw it over a scared Yeosang, capturing him. The pirates laughed with joy at their catch of the day and made their way with the merman back to their ship.
Mingi had swum back underwater to escape the pirates but they had gotten his best friend. He knew he alone couldn't save Yeosang and he didn't think any fish could. Yeosang was stuck with sailors, pirates to be exact, the worst kind of humans a fish could be stuck with. Mingi knew if he was going to get help, he had to get help from a human and that human is Marina.
:~.•༄
Marina hums to herself as she waits in the cove on the sand for her merman. She giggles at the thought. Her merman. It was cute to think of Yeosang as hers since it is sort of true, Yeosang knows no other human but her. She's his only human in his life, and she's very happy about that.
If she didn't know any better, she'd say that after that night watching the biolume waves on the beach, she'd say that she's officially fallen for that fish boy. Marina knows their worlds are very different but that never brought them apart. Different worlds opened doors for learning which only brought them closer.
Marina swirls her finger around in the water, wondering what could be taking Yeosang so long. He's normally always here before her. Could the king be making him work some extra long tasks today?
Suddenly, she jumps startled when Mingi pops his head from the water.
"Oh! Mingi! You scared me! Haha."
The panicked expression on the fish's face made Marina feel worried on the inside.
"Yeosang was captured by pirates. You have to help save him! You're the only one who can do it!" Mingi tells her making Marina sit up on the sand with concern on her face.
"Pirates?! No wonder I saw a pirate ship not too long ago on the beach!!"
"We gotta hurry! Who knows what they'll do to Yeosang!"
Marina stands up, "Mingi, head to the boat dock on the beach! I'll meet you there!"
"Got it!" He says before going back underwater.
Marina runs as fast as her legs could carry her as she runs from the cove to the beach. Her heart pounding with fear for Yeosang and anger for the pirates that took him. Eventually, Marina makes it to the boat dock and Mingi is there in the water. The pirate ship had sailed into the ocean but they weren't that far from the beach.
Marina gets inside a rowboat and ties a rope to the front of the boat mast, dropping the end of it into the water.
"It'll be faster if we make this boat go together. Can you pull the boat while I'll use the ores?"
"Under the sea, they call me speedy sunfish Mingi! I'll swim as fast as my fins can carry me!" Mingi says and swims to the front of the boat putting the rope in his mouth.
With their teamwork, they got the little rowboat across the ocean and over to the massive pirate ship. Once they arrived at the bottom of the ship, Mingi let go of the rope in his mouth.
"Thanks, Mingi! I'll take it from here!" Marina says putting the ores back in the boat and getting out and onto the side ladder on the ship.
"Just be careful, Marina!"
"Thank you Mingi, I will!"
Meanwhile, on the deck, the pirates were too busy bullying the tied up merman on their ship.
"Hey!! Sing something!! Don't merfolk sing?! Or was that just the little mermaid?"
"Careful Jongho he might out sing you!" A tall brunette pirate laughs.
"Shut it Yunho! No one out sings me! And if this little merman does he'll regret it!" Jongho says looking at Yeosang with a glare.
Yeosang felt too many emotions inside of him, he felt fear, wondering what these pirates were capable of and planned on doing to him. He felt anger, anger that nobody ties him up and treats him rudely like this. And he also felt understanding, understanding the king even more for why he felt the way he did toward humans. He wanted to prevent exactly the kind of situation Yeosang was currently in.
"He's not talking! I say we make him talk by pounding him into a fish cake." San says with a smirk and cracks his knuckles.
Yeosang closes his eyes and looks away in fear, not wanting to look at them while they beat him.
"Stop right there pirates!! In the name of the queen!!!"
Yeosang opens his eyes and sees Marina on deck as she grabs a sword nearby her and she starts taking on the pirates. He felt relieved seeing her here to save him. His heart pounded in his chest as he saw how strong and brave she was for taking on the scary pirates.
Marina quickly comes over to Yeosang and cuts the rope off of his chest and around his wrists. They briefly hug for a bit before letting go.
"Yeosang, hop off this ship as fast as you can! I'll cover you!"
"Wait! Marina what about you?!"
She gives him a reassuring smile, "Don't worry I'll meet you down there just go!"
Yeosang nods and begins making his way off the ship and back into the sea. Marina continues her sword fight with all 5 pirates, letting her adrenaline take over.
The captain growls, "that's enough out of you!!"
He hits Marina at the back of her head making her go unconscious. The crew tosses her overboard and she goes into the ocean.
Mingi and Yeosang reunite and share a small hug, "Yeosang!! You're okay!! Where's Marina?!"
Yeosang lets go of Mingi and swims up to the surface. He sees the rowboat empty and the pirate ship beginning to sail away. He goes back in the water and his eyes widen as he sees Marina's body sink fast in the ocean.
He quickly swims over to her and catches her in his arms.
"Marina, no! Please...don't be dead."
"Yeosang?!" A familiar voice calls out to him.
Yeosang looks up and sees King Seonghwa swim up to him.
"What in Poseidon's name are you doing with a human?!?"
"King Seonghwa, please!! Help me save her! Look!"
Blood streams from Marina's head and Seonghwa takes a breath.
"Any minute and she is the shark's concern now. Not yours, not a merman's."
"No, your majesty! She is very much my concern!" Yeosang argues.
Seonghwa furrows his brows, "What could she have possibly done for you, Yeosang?!"
"She's changed my life. Yes, I've disobeyed your ban and I've broken the law and met with this human, but that was the best risk I've ever taken in my life! I've been open to a whole new world and I'm happy!! Yes, some humans are horrible and they care about nothing but themselves. I don't deny what you told me that day in the garden about that because pirates captured me and I could've died. But however, there are humans like this girl who does whatever it takes to protect the ones they care about and this girl did exactly that for me. She saved my life. I've been in love with this girl and I love her even more for what she did for me. So, I must save her. But with your help."
Seonghwa rubs his temples frustratedly after listening to Yeosang's explanation. A pretty good explanation at that. He sighs and looks between Yeosang and the human girl in his arms. This girl is in this state because she tried to do a good deed out of her own good heart to save one of his people. After all, Seonghwa was a king of righteousness and he truly believed in it. Maybe Yeosang is right...there are righteous humans after all.
Seonghwa sighs then put his hands on Marina's head. With his powers, he begins healing her. He lets go of her when he finishes and the blood stops running from her head. She's still unconscious but she was healed.
"She'll be fine now, but you must hurry and bring her back to shore."
Yeosang smiles and bows to him, "Thank you so much, your majesty!!"
"No...thank you, Yeosang," Seonghwa says with a smile before swimming away.
:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•༄:~.•
Marina immediately sits up as she coughs up water from her system. She feels gentle patting on her back to calm her coughs down. She turns and sees Yeosang sitting next to her, his familiar sweet smile on his lips.
He chuckles, "Do you snore when you sleep or something?"
"Hey! I do not!" She exclaims.
They laugh for a bit before pulling each other into a hug.
Yeosang rubs her back, "Thank you for saving me from those pirates. I'm sorry I couldn't fight back to save you from the pirates too. It's moments like those I wish I had legs like you. Legs so I could stand up and be a hero for you."
"Yeosang, you don't need legs to be my hero. You swam all the way to bring me back here to the beach. That's using your fins! That's just being you! So, thank you, My hero. And as for those pirates, I had to stop them. Nobody messes with the people I care about! And I'd do anything for you. You'd better believe I put up a good fight when you left!"
Yeosang lets out a light laugh and let's go from the hug to look at her. He puts his hand on her cheek and gently rubs it with his thumb. This girl is so amazing in every way. He loves her so much.
A familiar little sunfish pops his head up from the water and swims closer to the sand, "Woah! Sorry! Am I interrupting something?"
They both turn and see Mingi in the water next to them.
Yeosang blushes and immediately lets go of Marina's cheek, "What?! No! Of course not!"
Mingi chuckles, "okay!~ if you say so. But are you both alright?"
"Yes, we're okay! Thank you again for helping me get to the ship! Yeosang! You should've seen him. Mingi was pulling on the rowboat's rope and swimming very fast!"
"Hey! They don't call me speedy sunfish Mingi for nothing!" Mingi says with an overconfident smirk.
Yeosang rolls his eyes, "Nobody calls you that, you clownfish."
"Hey now! Don't kill the dream, fish boy!"
Marina laughs at the two's bickering again, "I'm so happy to be back together like this!"
"Me too! And now that we're all back together, Yeosang can finally confess what he's been wanting to tell you, Marina!" Mingi teases and Yeosang blushes madly.
"What the?! No, I do not!"
"Haha c'mon! Tell me!~"
"Yeah! Yeo! Tell her!"
Yeosang pulls his tail up to his chest and he hugs it, "Mingiii!! It's not easy to just say it."
Marina smiles and puts a hand on Yeosang's wrist, "if you can't say it then, express it."
Yeosang lets go of his tail and he bites his lip nervously. He knew what he wanted to express but he was nervous about Marina's reaction to it. He looks at her, her expression soft and patient as she waited for him.
He takes a breath then closes his eyes and leans into her lips, giving a kiss to Marina. He pulls from her lips feeling his face get red again. Marina puts her hand on his cheek and pulls him back to her lips and this time she initiates the second kiss. They smile in this one feeling overjoyed about how they feel for each other.
They pull from the kiss and Marina's smile never fades from her lips, "Aww, I'm glad you felt the same! Hehe!"
"Hehe! You too!"
Mingi claps his fins together for them, "Finally the ship has sailed!!! Ayeee, I told you Yeosang!!"
Yeosang hits the water with his tail, splashing Mingi. The sunfish quickly evades the splash and returns underwater while Marina laughs at the two of them.

Several months later, things have changed for the better since the beginning of our tale. King Seonghwa and the queen of the kingdom on the land met each other and decided to form an alliance. The first-ever alliance between the kingdom of the sea and the kingdom of the land. Sea trade became safer and greener and now merpeople and humans were free to meet each other.
This especially meant our two characters, Marina and Yeosang were now free to meet each other without having to break any more laws.
Marina sits in the sand, playing the small Kalimba instrument in her hands. Yeosang laid on his side on the sand, smiling and watching Marina lovingly as she played a pretty song. Both, happy they can love each other freely without keeping it a secret anymore.
Yeosang closes his eyes and listened to the sound of the ocean waves as they crashed upon the shore, giving it a background to the chiming tunes from the Kalimba his lover was playing. It was very pleasing to his ears.
She finishes the song and cheers her.
"That was beautiful! You should teach me!"
"Sure! Come here!" Marina says with a cheerful smile.
Yeosang smiles back and scoots over to her, taking the seat on the sand between her skirt. He rests against her chest and Marina wraps her arms around him, holding the instrument in front of him. She starts teaching him the tabs to the song she played.
After a while, Yeosang got the hang of the keys and was able to play the song just as Marina taught. He looked up at her and saw the proud smile on her lips. She leans down to sweetly kiss his lips upside down, giving him a warm hug afterward.
They watch and listen to the waves crash against the shore.
"Yeosang?" Marina speaks up in the silence.
"Hm?" Yeosang looks up and asks her.
"I'm glad I've met you."
A smile crosses Yeosang's face, "I'm glad I've met you too, my love."
