Not much to say just same old, same old. But that is still pretty good. Booking the METs and the hours. My plan is to try the mountain tomorrow.

The first time I did it was stupid, inept and maybe a bit dangerous. It was a hot day and I was not in great shape. (Good, just not great) My heart rate was over 170 the whole time. (yikes) It also marked the first time I thought to write about the experience which I posted on a website that was "free" with my ISP subscription. Also rather inept, but you learn things.

That first ascent was slow and required frequent stops to breathe and cool down. Since then I have still never done it without at least a couple stops. There is a lovely lookout point about halfway up which is worth driving to for selfies. In good weather there are always cyclists pretending its the Alpe de Huez.

It takes me over an hour of solid climbing at a very stupid pace of between 9 to 12 kph. The slope varies but I am not sure of the true values. My old bike computer displayed what it thought it was and occasionally showed 12%. I think a max of 10% is more fair.

I hope it works out. The ride down is much faster. I have hit 100 kph, but prefer to stay under 70kph as that is terrifying enough.
