(so here's that concept i was talking about)
Rusty's Roundup
A live-action cowboy show (similar to Dolly's Stampede) featuring lifelike "animatronic" animals acting out a Western drama on a grand stage. Guests enjoy a meal while they watch. There are smaller attractions within the building as well (mechanical bullriding, a bronco carousel, a non-alcoholic saloon, and a secondary stage where human country bands perform as opening acts to the main show, and a gift shop). The various staff dress like cowpokes, saloon barkeeps and showgirls, and the waitresses and waiters wear southwestern-patterned shirts and skirts and faux cowhide vests. Children are given their own cowboy hats and badges upon entry to match with Rusty.
Sheriff Rusty- a heroic farm dog and main character of the show. He protects the small town of "Tumbleweed Gulch" from bandits and rescues them from their own misadventures. He sings and plays guitar.
Deputy Dusty- an eager roadrunner and Rusty's right hand. His main running joke is that he can't slow down and usually runs into things. He's bright, peppy, and ready to tussle at a moment's notice.
Mama Mulberry- an old coyote grandmother. She often finds herself and her ward Huck in trouble with the bandits (usually a stolen pie or other such baked goods). Sings at the end of the show alongside the other animatronics.
Huck- a young coyote boy who often finds himself in trouble and is usually being saved by Rusty. Falls down a lot of wells and mineshafts. This doesn't seem to dull his spirit or his wish to be one of Rusty's deputies.
Jumpin' Jenny- a female mule, she's a side character in the show. She's usually just a reactionary character (jumping when she's scared being one of the running jokes), and she plays the fiddle at the end of the show.
Paso- a (jackrabbit? donkey? lizard? a combo of all 3??) bandit who regularly tries to steal from the town's goldmine and generally likes to cause havoc among the townsfolk. Main villain of the show, often seen in the town jail after his final standoff with Rusty at the end. Has a tendency to make trouble for the staff even before and after the show.
Betsy Belle (real name Mia Santos)- a human woman who plays the "damsel in distress" during the show, and is saved by Rusty before the end. She was originally just a waitress, but after an incident involving Paso, management decided she'd make a great addition to the cast. Paso has gained a habit of pestering (flirting with) her since then, and Mia is seemingly the only one who can keep him in line.
Noone getting stuffed inside robots here, but the animatronics were brought to life and given souls by the company owner through some shady rituals. Something about wanting them to be as lifelike as possible.
