Chapter 4
Tumblr media
hi, chat!
The chapter image kind of snuck up on me and I didn't snag a picture in time, so I took a screenshot of a playthrough and edited it 😬
This post is going to be much shorter than the last, hallelujah!
Tumblr media
Hey, Mewtwo! What's up... Youtwo?
Yeah idk
Tumblr media
Okay so based on past observations, it seems that dialogue text refers to him as "Lumineontwo" but not his name tag. I still have no idea why this would be the case. Any thoughts?
Tumblr media
You know, I just realized... The fact that Magby - a baby Pokémon incapable of breeding - is the father to a grown-up Clefable brings up... waaaay too many uncomfortable questions. Unless Clefable is adopted? But even then... Yeah, I got nothing.
Tumblr media
HE ANGY!! >:l
My god, I could have not picked a better replacement for Loudred 😂
Tumblr media
Just throwing this in here to show that the randomizer doesn't even touch the sentry minigame. Which, like with the art, I totally get. That would get way too messy.
Back in the day, I used to be able to identify most footprints before the timer lost any bars. I've grown a little rusty since then; I lost my two strikes this time.
Tumblr media
But I still did a "perfect" job, so we got the usual rewards from Tropius: a Joy Seed, a Ginseng, and a Life Seed. That surprised me a little, as I expected the items to be randomized.
Tumblr media
The next day, I noticed the Outlaw Board is still unavailable. I guess maybe those jobs are too difficult to randomize? I'm fine with that since trying to do five jobs in Everlasting Bolt-hole was... yikes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The recycling shop in the soon-to-be Spinda Rotom cafe will be run by Aerodactyl and Crawdaunt! That's... something!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m still begging someone to make art of this. Seriously, I will pay you. Like $5. (I’m thinking of a sketch.) DM me on my main if you’re interested.
While prepping for the day, we ran into Team AWD! Or as I like to call them, Team Tropical:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*gasps* Tropius leads a double life?! How scandalous!!
Thankfully, the stretched sssss makes it obvious who’s who. Also Lanturn’s icon is so cute what the heck.
I remembered picking up a Seed Flare TM a while back and seeing that Teresa can learn it. It only has 5 PP but it’s pretty strong and does damage all around the user. So, goodbye, Switcheroo!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the TM didn’t break either! Another mod added to the randomizer, I presume. It was a pleasant surprise nonetheless!
Remember that weird Crucial Estate dungeon that popped up out of the blue? Well, I decided to go in and check it out. Intuition told me to check the mission objectives and see if I could garner any insight.
Tumblr media
Ohhhhhhh... that makes sense.
The enemies were pretty strong- they easily had over 80 HP. I gave it a few attempts but it was basically a coin flip whether I survived the first floor or not. A challenge for another day, I suppose.
Tumblr media
Bonus: Turns out Run Away is useful for something after all!
Tumblr media
After one of my resets, I noticed the bedroom changed from Whimsical Furnace...? I have no idea why 🤷‍♀️
I don’t have much to share about the jobs that took me several tries to do but I did have one moment that nearly gave me a heart attack:
Tumblr media
See that explosion trap in the upper left? See how it’s placed right next to the Kecleon Shop?
Yeah so I stepped on the trap, blew up two of his items, and started panicking because I assumed Kecleon would call me a thief (consumption without payment, after all) and start beating us up. I tentatively took us down that corridor and... nothing. What you can’t see in that image is my face of utter relief 😅
Oh and Andrea learned Smokescreen! It was a tough choice, but I ditched Mirror Move since it hasn’t been super useful thus far. The Whiffer status is SUPER OP though, so I have a feeling it’ll save our butts in the future.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading 😊 I heard you ordered the Chapter 5: (Insert nonsensical title here) post, so that’s coming right up! (Might take me a bit though.)

A Snapseed-esque photo toolkit inside the Google+ mobile app would instantly put it on par with Facebook and Instagram's mobile photo-editing capabilities, though the Google+ mobile photo community is nowhere near as vibrant as Instagram's. Both Facebook and Instagram are notorious for compressing user photos to save server space, though Facebook has more recently added high-resolution uploads to its website. Google has already done a nice job providing a safe place for Flickr refugees and other photo enthusiasts by providing high-resolution image uploads and editing features like crop, sharpen, text, and a variety of photo filters inside Google+. The portion of Nik Software that worked on Snapseed, which includes the company's San Diego outpost, will relocate to Google headquarters in Mountain View to work directly on Google+, sources say. Snapseed is no Instagram in terms of popularity, but the two apps' use of filters and various means of manipulating images serve a similar purpose. "We want to help our users create photos they absolutely love, and in our experience Nik does this better than anyone," Google+ boss Vic Gundotra wrote in a blog post. Snapseed integration would instantly put Google+ on par with Facebook and Instagram's editing capabilities

Nik Software also sells Snapseed for Mac and Windows, and the company is apparently working on an Android app as well. The $4.99 app won Apple's coveted iPad App Of The Year award in 2011 for its inventive multitouch photo editing interface, and gained over nine million users during its first year on sale. Sources close to the deal tell The Verge that while Nik Software produces all sorts of apps for photographers like Color Efex Pro and Dfine for Mac and Windows, iOS app Snapseed was the golden egg in the acquisition. Google has agreed to acquire Nik Software, the German developer of photography app Snapseed, for an undisclosed amount.

Visual Basic Editor Excel For Mac 2016
Tumblr media
Active1 year, 9 months ago
The importance of the Visual Basic Editor and the lack of resources covering the VBE in detail are the main reasons why I decided to write this Excel tutorial. In this post, I cover the following topics. Sep 26, 2018  The VBA implementation in Mac Excel 2016 in **not** fully compatible with the previous versions of VBA: TOS+ is a very powerful workbook that uses a lot of VBA.
I recently installed Excel 2016 for mac and when I launched the VBA editor the text was placed in a vertical way (line without any width) as shown in the following image. Any workaround for this?

The questions plaguing users of Microsoft Excel—JavaScript support, slow Mac development cycles, the lack of Easter eggs—all apparently come down to one thing: prioritizing developer resources.
The Microsoft team took to the pages of Reddit on Wednesday in an ”Ask Me Anything” session to answer questions about the future of Microsoft’s 28-year-old spreadsheet program. Best code editor for mac. One of the sticking points: Visual Basic for Applications, a language that Microsoft added in 1993 to allow users to define their own functions. Is it time for VBA to go?
Yes.. and no, Microsoft’s team replied. “We love VBA, and we plan to keep it around for the foreseeable future,” “Dan,” one of the members of the team, responded. “As we add new features to Windows Desktop and Mac versions of Excel (where VBA is supported), we’ll continue to add (an) object model for those features, so you have programmable access to all of the capabilities of the application.”
Why this matters: Legacy code can be a nightmare for developers, but it’s even worse when a generation of programmers depends on a particular toolset or API. Microsoft Office arguably remained stale for decades, with incremental changes. Microsoft’s having to make some tough choices about what to retain and what to jettison, even as its developer resources are being asked to support a growing number of platforms.

Microsoft is beginning to add support for JavaScript APIs, which will continually improve with monthly updates, the team added. “(W)e are actively working on dramatically extending that (JavaScript) API set to be in line with the existing VBA/COM object model,” “Dan” added. “The good news here is that the new APIs will work regardless of the Excel endpoint/device, which will mean that solutions will be much more universal than they are today.”

Microsoft Excel For Mac
The problem, the Excel team said, is that Microsoft now has to support several platforms—Windows desktop, Windows mobile, Mac, iOS, Android, and the Web, among others—which implicitly prevents each platform from getting “caught up” with the others. Excel for the Mac, for example, has seriously lagged behind the PC, and even the most recent Excel 2016 for Mac processes calculations using just one core of a multicore machine.
Like most of its apps and services, Microsoft uses its UserVoice platform to measure user demand, or at least the volume of complaints; for Excel feedback, you should use the Excel site. “We’re already tracking this request on on Excel’s UserVoice here,” the team wrote of the calculation restriction. “Restricting calc to a single core isn’t great for performance and we know that, so it’s safe to say this is on our radar.”
However, it looks like one irritation will remain in place: Excel’s annoying tendency to treat leading zeroes—such as on a tracking or billing number, like “00015632”—as excess that should be chopped off. The default “trick,” the team recommends, is to put an apostrophe in front of the first zero, as a tip that the number should be read as text.
The Excel team also offered one tip: yes, you can open multiple copies of Excel at once, so that you can keep a particular portion of one spreadsheet open in one window, while working in a related version in another. You’ll just need Excel 2013 and above to do it, which some frustrated users of earlier versions didn’t know. Just go to View > New Window and open the file.
Oh, and don’t go hunting for Easter eggs in the latest versions of Excel, like the flight simulator built into Excel 97. “Now it’s an Office policy not to include Easter eggs (for a bunch of reasons),” “Dan” wrote. “It’s a bummer sometimes, but we still do get to have fun on April 1 sometimes.”

Webs.com review
New Post has been published on https://britishdigitalmarketingnews.com/webs-com-review/
Webs.com review
Launched as Freewebs.com back in 2001, Webs.com is a simple drag-and-drop website builder, now owned by the printing and marketing giant, Vistaprint.
If you’re familiar with Vistaprint, you might know the company already has a website builder on its own site (we review it here), but this is entirely separate from Webs.com. Pricing, features, editor and everything else are all very different.
Webs.com presents its service better than most, with pages displaying all of its templates, a video explaining the editor, details on the features available and the process of building your website. It’s all very clear and straightforward.
A free plan enables trying out the service basics for yourself with no risk. Free websites are feature-limited (up to five pages only, no mobile site, no web store) and include Webs branding, but there’s enough functionality to give you an idea of how Webs.com works.
The $5.99 (£4.61) a month (paid two-yearly) Starter plan drops the Webs branding and gives you a free domain name and a mobile website (a parallel site rather than a strictly responsive theme), but limits storage to 1GB and offers support via email only.
The $12.99 (£9.99) a month Business plan gets you 5GB storage, premium themes and three custom email addresses. You can sell up to 20 items in your web store, and there’s live chat support if you need it.
Spending a monthly $22.99 (£17.68) on the top-of-the-range Pro plan allows unlimited storage and web store items, supports 25 custom email addresses, throws in search engine submission and ‘SEO Booster’ tools, and adds telephone support.
The lack of true responsive themes is the major issue here, especially as the free plan doesn’t have any mobile support at all, but on balance Webs.com offers what looks like a reasonable set of features for a fair price.
Getting started
Signing up with web services can often be a hassle, but Webs.com streamlines the process so much that you’ll barely notice it happening.
Tap the Sign-Up button, for instance, and you’re prompted to enter your email address and choose a password. But the very same page also tries to ease you into the web design process by prompting you to pick a site title, and choose a template from the selection available.
The template designs look reasonable at first, until you notice that the best ones are only available with the Business and Pro plans, while the free and Starter plans only get you around 40 more basic examples (check the full set here, the starred themes are premium-only.)
The templates are presented a little oddly, too, forcing you through endless horizontal scrolling to view the full set. That might be fine on a tablet where you can swipe right, but it’s not a smart use of screen space on a desktop. Still, we made our choice in a very few seconds, and moved on to the next stage.
Webs.com allows you to use a free subdomain (myname.webs.com) or a domain you own already. The company can also register a domain for you, but with the website quoting prices ‘from $19.95’ (£15.34) for a dot com, it’s probably better to look elsewhere (someone like name.com will register dot com domains from around £10 ($13) a year, and regular sales mean it’s often less.)
Finally, confirm your choice of Webs.com plan, the website opens your template in its editor, and displays a tutorial video which walks you through all the operational basics in three minutes.
Editor
The Webs.com editor gets off to a disappointing start with its bare-bones templates. We had chosen an example with three attractive pictures and a text box on the front page, for instance, but on launch the editor displayed a single empty image box, leaving us to select the rest.
The default layout is a simple empty page, but there are other basic structures to choose from, combining your choice of a website banner with a left and right-hand sidebar.
A dock at the bottom of the page provides a decent set of widgets, covering text, images, layout (columns, tables), photo galleries, slideshows, video, audio, Twitter feeds, Facebook comments and Like boxes, PayPal buttons and more.
There are no visual previews for any of these, a problem with some of the more complex groups of widgets (Timeline, Features, Services, Team.) A Contact widget had a vague icon with a few lines on it, for instance, so we had to drag and drop it onto a page to see what it did. That’s a nuisance, although the widget did at least turn out to be very capable, a block of elements including a map, text address, phone numbers, email and social media links.
Understanding what you can do with a page element also takes more work than usual. The best editors display a toolbar close to the element whenever you hover your mouse over it; Webs displays only a few, requires a left-click to display more, and even then, most of those options are displayed in a distant toolbar at the top of the screen. You’ll quickly learn where to look, but the interface never feels quite as comfortable as it should.
The editor has some technical issues, too. We left our test site open until its session timed out, for instance, expecting the editor to ask us to log in again. But it apparently didn’t notice, instead displaying oddball errors for even simple tasks, such as replacing an image. This can be fixed by backing out of the editor and logging in again, but newbies may not realize that, and it’s easy to see how someone could spend an age trying to solve these strange issues.
There are some neat touches, such as the ability to add multiple new form data types to the Contact Form. But for every one of those, we came up with problems and issues. Like the horribly basic Twitter feed widget, for instance, which in the editor is a left-aligned box which can’t be centered or significantly repositioned. Oh, and who had the bizarre idea of using a standard Search icon for the Preview function?
Media
Webs.com has several media-related widgets, but they’re spread a little awkwardly between two areas of the editor dock. The ‘Popular’ section has Image and ‘Image & Text’ elements, while a separate Media section has Slideshow, Video, Audio and Icon options.
The Image widget doesn’t have an integrated editor, but it covers the core basics with resize, crop, zoom and rotate tools. You can store commonly-used images (up to a total of 500MB) in a server-based My Images library, and an integrated stock image library gives you access to multiple high-quality images for free.
Videos aren’t available with the free Webs.com plan, and the standard video widget only supports YouTube links. But you can host small videos on your own site, and support for custom embed codes could allow you to insert videos from many other providers.
While most website builder Audio tools essentially just embed the player from a third-party service like SoundCloud, the Webs.com offering aims to play MP3 files hosted on your own website. That could be more convenient, but we tried it with a couple of MP3s and it just didn’t work. The player displayed a duration of zero seconds for our choices, and maybe investigating different encoders would fix the problem (although both our MP3s played locally), but this shouldn’t be an issue Webs.com customers have to worry about.
The Photo Gallery widget allows importing images from your local system or any previously uploaded images, although annoyingly it doesn’t give you access to the stock image library.
Once we had uploaded our Gallery images, though, we found it very configurable. Images can be reordered by dragging and dropping from within the editor, and you’re able to adjust settings like the photos per row, the crop style, hover action, title and caption rules (when they appear, when they don’t), while an optional Lightbox switch enables displaying all your pictures as a full-screen slideshow.
Alternatively, you can just use a regular Slideshow widget. It’s not quite as much fun as the Gallery, but you still get to define the player background, color, the length of time to play each slide, any transition, and more.
Blog and e-commerce
Webs.com doesn’t have a blog widget, instead requiring you add a blog at the page level. That’s not difficult to do (click Pages, Add A New Page, choose Blog), but it’s a little inflexible, as blog pages can’t be customized and tweaked in the same way as the rest of your site.
When you create a new post, for instance, you must use a simple stripped-back editor which has only a tiny fraction of the features of the main page builder. This supports formatted text, images, audio and video files, but there’s no direct support for adding a photo gallery, map, or any of the other features (although an unusual feature to edit the HTML source might allow you to insert other page objects.)
Formatting issues aside, the rest of the blog performs reasonably well. The editor allows you to assign up to three categories to a post, they can be scheduled to publish at some point in the future, you’re able to make posts viewable to groups of users depending on their role on the site (Members, Moderators, Administrators, more), and a very simple built-in comments system enables users to say what they think of each post.
The Webs.com web store is basic, but delivers most og the core features we would expect. Your products can have multiple images attached, you’re able to define product variations like size and color, and the catalog may be organized into categories to help customers find the goods they’re interested in. Payments may be taken via cards (using Stripe) or PayPal, and inventory control helps to monitor and manage your stock levels.
Specialist platforms such as Shopify give you many more settings and extension options, but the Webs.com solution isn’t bad, and if you can live with the 20-product limit, the $12.99 (£9.99) a month Business plan could be very good value.
Support
Whether you’re at the Webs.com dashboard, editor, page manager or anywhere else, the Support button is always visible, apparently as an easy and convenient way to get help on your current task.
The Support interface looks good. It uses a drop-down window, rather than taking you away to another page; a search engine helps you find articles, and read their content; and there are links to video tutorials and other support routes.
Unfortunately, while the presentation is good, the support site is let down by the content. Top of the Popular Topics list is a video tutorial designed to help first-time users, for instance, but clicking this took us to a “the page you were looking for doesn’t exist” error message. This wasn’t a one-off mistake, as we noticed the same problem with every embedded link we tried. Webs.com clearly needs to spend more time checking and maintaining the site.
Other articles referred to features which no longer seemed to exist, such as the ability to add a video gallery. This seems to be another indicator that the help database hasn’t been updated for some time.
It’s not all bad, and in simple situations, we found the system worked very well. If you don’t understand why there’s no Blog widget, for instance, typing Blog in the search box immediately displays an article explaining how to add it from the New Pages menu. The support interface is good, but the content desperately needs an upgrade.
If you can’t find what you need on the database, you’re also able to contact the Webs.com support team via live chat, email or telephone, depending on your plan. We’ve seen a lot of online customer reviews complaining about the level of support they’ve received, but if nothing else, the Webs.com 30-day money-back guarantee gives you plenty of time to try the service before you buy.
Final verdict
Webs.com has a few interesting and worthwhile features, but they’re outnumbered by all the hassles and problems. Ignore it, until Vistaprint spends the money to give it a massive overhaul, or closes it down.

PoPxo.com: Capturing Opportunities from Online Women
Tumblr media
It would have scared anybody to risk starting a blog website only for women but not for Priyanka Gill and Namrata Bostrom. Not only this put constraint on the number of readers but the content could have also raised several ethical questions among the readers. However, the portal proved to be one of the most popular blogs read by women across the world. It’s true that a few years back, all the women related articles were mainly available in the form of magazines and not all women were willing to buy them every month. PoPxo.com changed the whole culture where they created an online magazine like the blog for women’s which can be accessed anywhere and at any time. The Alexa ranking state that the website has approximately 3.5 billion users with 110,000 visitors on the website every day. Also, Google Trend shows a promising upward trend for the company with maximum users in the cities of Gurgaon, Noida, New Delhi, Mumbai and Indore.
Tumblr media
So, Why and How PoPxo.com Started?
The co-founder Priyanka Gill belongs to Delhi and is now settled in London, UK. PoPxo was born as eStylista in 2006 when in a very short span of time, it became quite famous. It grew out with lessons and tips into PoPxo. Priyanka Gill, on one hand, has a flair for fashion while Namrata Bostrom, co-founder has an appetite for management and marketing. The team of these two strong ladies led to step by step maturity of PoPxo and making it a common name among urban Indian girls and women. PoPxo has an amazing pool of simple yet attractive articles, videos and how-to-do blogs. The content is curated considering the inclination of readership and no segment of women is left behind.
PoPxo.com’s Work and Plans:
Currently, PoPxo has a team of more than 50 people which started with a set of 10 young girls. It is safe to say that PoPxo is a community for women to post and share their thoughts without any hesitation and judgements, to put up their questions and get answers, and to know about several things which are mostly related to girls only. PoPxo is an inspiration for South-Asian women either be it fashion, food, culture, beauty, health, philanthropy or even the latest trends. The list is everlasting.
PoPxo is one of the fastest growing sites in India. PoPxo recently claimed that it has nine million monthly page views and in which three million are unique visitors. Currently, PoPxo has access over three cities; London, New Delhi and Mumbai. The site has itself a unique theory to work upon uniqueness and is very loyal and genuine to their audience. PoPxo tries to reach their audience by covering all essentials and very elementary stuff. Any girl and women can easily relate to each and every content provided on the site.
They have all in one site either it is reading the section, video section, shopping section or a chat section. The layout is very quick and attractive. All the concepts revolve around the basic need and curricular activities of girls and women like makeup tutorial, cooking, shopping challenges, and giving tip about what to wear to a party, wedding, and the beauty product usages. Getting the latest tips on the current trend, fashion hack and solving day to day situations or what not, everything is wrap-up in a single packet. PoPxo is the new wave and a hope for the Indian girls and women.
PoPxo.com Strategy and Funding:
As explained hitherto, PoPxo’s strategy is clear from the beginning- “Reach out to maximum urban girls and women aged 15-35 years through the medium that they use the most”.
Their product is content and they have distributed it towards different channels- desktop, mobile app and social media channels. PoPxo connects women to different brands and in the way also monetizes the reach. Their major income source is advertisement and promotions. As per their own claims, they have now more than 1.5million loyal readers per month.
For generating revenue PoPxo remains on domestic advertising and sponsorship program. At present they have the tie-up with various brands like Whisper, TrulyMadly, Vero Moda, TIGI BedHead, Wills Lifestyle, Caratlane, Westside, Chumbak,  Motorola, Tanishq, Van Heusen, Myntra, Swarovski and Lakme. They have also tied-up with prominent bloggers to generate an immense level of engagement and social media.
Let’s take a look at their entire benchmark, according to PoPxo.com they have 1050 original content producer, 1.3 billion monthly content impressions, 141 million monthly content engagements, 100 million video views and 8 million new users post engagement. The number looks quite promising and are sure to take it to another upward ride.
Funding:
PoPxo has observed 4 rounds of funding till now in which 16 investors are involved and the latest funding took place in April 2017 with an amount of $3.1M (Series B). the funding was led by IDG Ventures India and Kalaari Capital with a participation from GREE Ventures Japan, the Philippines based Summit Media, Gurpreet Singh and Atul Goyal. This new investment is expected to support its operations, technology and readers’reach.
PoPxo.com’s Competitors:
Since the past few years, a women-driven content platform has gained tremendous growth. In the Indian market, some women centric internet based portals are- SheThePeople, MissMalini and Femina. To compete in the competition, PoPxo.com has also launched Hindi content as they discovered that the content categories are moving parallelly in India and they have readers for both Hindi and English. The editors are doing a great job preparing the stories and information and catering it to the audience. But the watchable part of the competition is who’s gonna give the flip, it’s a social media content platform, a tough competition between the content and ranking. And the interesting part is the audience gets the best among their race.
Future Goals & Expectations:
PoPxo is all set to take off so high and set a new count. PoPxo has introduced Plixxo, an influencer marketing app. It has been assumed that the Plixxo might be a game changer not for only the influencer community but for brands also. Their object is to set all the profiles and stats in one place. It is also a tool for the business generation where they can select brand campaigns and also get paid.
Plixxo is a platform for both female and as well for male also combining Bloggers, YouTubers, Instagram and Twitter covering all like fashion, beauty, travel, food, tech, decor and more. It aims to reach 10000 influencers in next 6 months. It will engage the community in a structure, apparent manner assuring the brand campaign hook its ROI aim.
The journey of PoPxo and Plixxo will lead both to the next level. India is going to be witnessed the real trend of two strong social media powerhouse coming together on a single platform.

A selection of video and photo monitors for 2018
Video editors and photographers need high quality monitors to clearly visualize their work, but that does not mean they need to spend a fortune on their next monitor. Here are some monitors you should probably check.
The best advice when buying a monitor is… don’t buy from catalog. In fact, no matter how much you read reviews and check online videos, you should always try to see the real monitor before buying it. If a monitor is an essential element of your work, you’ll be starting at it for many hours, so having a monitor that you feel comfortable with is the first step. It’s not just the colour, brightness, detail, it’s everything else, from the way the display can be tilted, turned around, to the interface and controls.
Resolution continues to be an essential element when choosing a monitor, but when buying a monitor it is important to know if the system it is going to be used with can cope with higher resolutions. While having more desktop space is always a good thing, there has to be a compromise between that and the power the computer/graphics card has. The Philips 328P6AUBREB mentioned in a previous article is an example of compromise, has it has a resolution of 2560×1440 on a 32 inch screen, when most guides will suggest that a 32 inch screen should have 3840×2160, or 4K UHD. Both are 16:9, which is somehow the most common aspect ratio, but there is a difference. It’s up to you to decide EXACTLY your needs.
Whatever you do, buying the biggest size you can use on your desktop is a good solution. When it comes to size, unless you need a monitor you can easily take with you, 27-inch monitors seem to be the smallest acceptable, according to some. 27-inch with a resolution of 2560×1440 (WQHD) are, apparently, the “norm”. You’ll also find some 24-inch monitors with the same resolution – and others, like the 32-inch from Philips – but usually screen size and resolution go hand-in-hand, meaning a 27-inch is 2560×1440, a 30 or 32-inch is 3840×2160 or, in extreme cases, the DCI 4K, that’s 4096×2160.
In terms of panels, IPS, which stands for In-Plane Switching,  is considered the way to go. It comes in different flavours and under different names, but as long as the panel is IPS, color reproduction will be good enough for professional work. Colour being an essential aspect, the color gamut covered is also a key element to check. Most monitors will claim they offer at least 99% SRGB colour gamut, which is fine for a lot of work, but look for 99% Adobe RGB or beyond if available. Monitors supporting wide gamut RGB cost more.
This guide does not pretend to be exhaustive, more a compilation of suggestions that may help you find a solution if you’re after your first monitor or, like me, you’re looking for a replacement to a dying monitor.
NEC MultiSync PA243W for $949
NEC recently updated the PA242W, one of its “most popular professional wide color gamut desktop displays,” according to Art Marshall, Senior Product Manager for Desktop Displays at NEC Display Solutions. The new monitor, reference PA243W, offers “new cutting-edge features have been added to provide improved color coverage to meet the color-critical needs of the print production, digital photography, photo editing, and video production markets, among others.”
The MultiSync PA243W has a 24.1″ IPS panel with LED backlight with a great viewing angle and anti-glare matte finish. Its premium color accuracy is ideal for color-critical workflows and in photography, video, printing and other professional environments. It increases Rec. 2020 coverage and boosts color accuracy to an impressive 99.6 percent of Adobe RGB, according to NEC. One note: this is a 24-inch 1920 x 1200 monitor, offering a 16:10 aspect ratio.
This model offers multiple connections for any application: a fast USB 3.1 hub featuring DisplaySync Pro KVM switch for managing multiple computers, plus DisplayPort, DVI-D, VGA and HDMI. With a 31 percent slimmer design than the previous model as well as integrated speakers and a new Low Blue Light setting.
The PA243W-BK with a black cabinet is available at a minimum advertised price of $949, and a white cabinet (PA243W) is also available. In addition, both colors are available bundled with NEC’s award-winning SpectraViewII color calibration software and sensors as PA243W-SV (white) and PA243W-BK-SV (black) at a price of $1,199.
ViewSonic VP2785-4K for $989
Color accuracy, with 99 percent Adobe RBG and 98 percent DCI-P3 colors, brightness, chromaticity and tone  stabilized in mere minutes are some of the features of the new 27-inch 4K UHD (3840×2160) monitor from ViewSonic.
Built to deliver, says the company,  unmatched color accuracy for professional color-critical applications, the ViewSonic VP2785-4K ensures vibrant and intense color reproduction, making this monitor the perfect display solution for photographers, video and content producers and editors.
With a built-in backlight sensor, the VP2785-4K can stabilize color in just three minutes, maintaining Adobe RGB and sRGB brightness stability for longer periods of time. Instead of the typical 30 plus minutes for a monitor to stabilize its brightness, chromaticity, and tone characteristics, the VP2785-4K has shortened the warm-up time to mere minutes.
From Broadcast and Cinema Presets for EBU, Rec.709, SMPTE-C and DCI with ready color spaces and gamma values, as well as Film Mode for smoother video playback, the VP2785-4K also supports HDR10 (High Dynamic Range) content decoding and playback. Skilled creative professionals will appreciate the built-in ambient light sensor, presence sensor, and KVM switch, which provide superior screen performance.
“The ViewSonic VP2785-4K was built for the professional photographer, content creator, videographer, graphic artist, or anyone that deals with color critical applications,” said Kenneth Mau, senior product marketing manager at ViewSonic Americas. “With the VP2785-4K, we offer color uniformity and accuracy. From a 10-bit panel, 14-bit LUT and 6 Axis color adjustability, connectivity options, a frameless design and newly designed ergonomic stand, this monitor delivers color coverage and output performance. The VP2785-4K is ideal for MacBook work stations or environments that need reliable color representation and image performance that is compatible with Type-C connectivity and 4K content.”
Philips 328P6AUBREB for $499
The 32-inch 2560×1440 monitor from Philips may not suite those aspiring for 4K, but is, nonetheless, an option to consider if you want to have more working space but do not have a computer ready to go all the way to higher resolutions. The compromise of WQHD on a 32-inch display may not be for everybody, but photographers or even videographers not working on 4K might consider this, also because of its price.
According to Philips, with 99% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB (CIE 1973), the 328P6AUBREB offers professional colour standards and 2560 x 1440 pixels deliver crystal-clear images and makes graphics come alive. Thanks to IPS technology, the monitor can be viewed from an angle of 178° without losing any of the colour accuracy or consistent brightness that professional applications demand.
Follow the link for more information about the Philips 328P6AUBREB.
Acer ProDesigner PE320QK for $1199
Introduced this month in the United States, the Acer ProDesigner PE320QK is a 31.5-inch monitor offering 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) visuals, precise color reproduction and an adjustable shading hood to meet the needs of photographers, video editors and graphic designers.
“Engineered for professionals who require the most exacting quality standards, our latest ProDesigner monitor offers the most accurate color available today,” said Ronald Lau, director – stationary computing. “We’re confident animators, film producers and other creative experts will be delighted with the performance the Acer ProDesigner PE320QK affords.”
The Acer ProDesigner PE320QK touts a color depth of 1.07 billion colors. Boasting Delta E<1 color accuracy, the smallest color difference the eye can see, this premium monitor enables graphics professionals to fine-tune images with optimal precision. It covers 130 percent of the sRGB color standard for storing, producing and presenting a wide range of hues. Video editors, animators and directors will appreciate that it covers 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space, the standard format for HDTVs. It ensures every hue is authentically represented, critical during post-production work and color-critical projects. Boasting 6-axis color adjustment, it lets pros obtain the exact shade they prefer by providing the ability to adjust hue and saturation, while super sharpness technology optimizes the quality of even low resolution images by slightly enhancing the edges.
An adjustable three-sided shading hood with anti-glare material reduces screen glare from ambient light, so subtleties of color can be viewed. To suit the needs of the moment, the side panels can be swiveled wider or narrower, while the upper panel can be removed.
The Acer ProDesigner PE320QK has two 2W speakers and comes with a powerful USB-C port delivering ultra-fast data and high-res video transfer with just one port. Boasting an output of 85W, it can easily charge smartphones and other devices. Estimated selling prices begin at $1199.
BenQ PD2710QC for $599
The first BenQ  monitor with USB-C Docking Station is also a solution for professionals, as it offers 100% sRGB and Rec.709 color spaces and a wide viewing angle. The BenQ PD2710QC is Technicolor Color Certified, ensuring consistent and accurate colors for an impressive color performance, says the company.
The BenQ Designer Monitor PD2710QC is a 27″ 2K QHD (2560×1440) monitor, the first from the company to offer a range of connectivity options without having the inconvenience of cables and a separate docking station. With Darkroom, CAD/CAM and Animation display modes, the monitor can be adjusted to your specific needs.  In Animation mode, the brightness on dark areas of the image is enhanced without over-exposing bright image areas, with 10 levels of display brightness available so you can see every detail clearly in any ambient lighting. Darkroom mode adjusts the brightness and contrast of images giving clarity and sharpness to details, creating the optimal setting for work in darker post-processing environments.
The monitor supports Eye-care technology and the screen can be shared through desktop partition. With BenQ’s proprietary Display Pilot software it is possible to split your screen into multiple windows.
HP DreamColor for $559 or $3999
Introduced at NAB 2017, the HP DreamColor Z31x Studio and HP DreamColor Z24x G2 displays offer artists, photographers and filmmakers the right monitors to do what they do best – create – without having to worry about lackluster display performance. They come in two packages.
The DreamColor HP Z24x G2 is HP’s most affordable DreamColor display and an example that you don’t need to pay thousands of dollars to get a monitor that delivers the color accuracy and consistency that has become synonymous with the HP DreamColor brand. HP says that this display allows every artist to have a professional color accurate display on their desks.
The 24-inch IPS panel offers a 1920 x 1200 resolution (16:10 aspect ratio), wide viewing angle, 8-bit+FRC colour depth and a colour gamut covering 100% sRGB, 100% BT.709, 99% Adobe RGB and 96% DCI-P3.     Pure, consistent color accuracy from design to production with color calibration on the amazingly affordable display are promised, and calibration software for both Windows and macOS supporting both the X-Rite i1Display Pro and the Klein Instruments K10-A colorimeters. The price is $559.
The HP DreamColor Z31x Studio , which aims for the other end of the scale, is not yet available, so it may be difficult to get it in time for Christmas. The 31-inch IPS panel features DCI 4K, that’s 4096 x 2160 resolution, while offering true 10-bit colour depth and a colour gamut covering 100% sRGB, 100% BT.709, 100% Adobe RGB, 99% DCI-P3 and 80% BT.2020.
“From the purest black to the most vivid rainbow of colors, our new DreamColor display for Cinema sets the gold standard for color accuracy and ease-of-use at a disruptive price point to outshine the competition,” said Josh Peterson, vice president of product management Z Workstations, HP Inc. “The new DreamColor Z Displays will be a gamechanger for studios and digital creatives who rely on color-critical accuracy and extreme performance.”
Offering precise image quality from any viewing angle, reliable and accurate color with an advanced built-in colorimeter capable of measuring and adjusting on-screen performance automatically or at scheduled intervals or on demand, and workflow accelerating features that allow users to create in Cinema 4K resolution, view in True 2K, and speed projects from concept to completion with onscreen markers and keyboard-based input switching between devices, the HP Z31x DreamColor Studio Display will cost, when available, somewhere close to $3999.

Live Streaming For Social Media and Marketing
Live streaming is not exactly brand new, but it is absolutely a big deal at the moment. What does all of this mean for the business’ networking and promotion?
Live Streaming For Social Media and Marketing
For companies to succeed, they have to be using every media and marketing tool available on them, and this includes live streaming. To be a true media octopus — and to receive a suitable ROI out of your streaming — why you are doing it and you want to understand what you are doing.
1. What’s Live Streaming?
A stream is a movie that you could record in broadcast, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer and your telephone in the same moment. With the ideal tech, anyone can get it done.
2. Can it be Livestreaming, Live-streaming, Or Live Cartoon?
It’s live streaming. It simply is. You are live streaming in case you live stream live flows and you’ll have streamed. That is the past participle, the noun, that the present participle, and the verb that you need to be using. Why? Because Google Trends says so; that is why.
A Google Trends evaluation of the usage of livestreaming, live-streaming, and live streaming since January 2012.
Results thing. This is because you don’t want folks to be adjusting your grammar — though it does help a company’ appearance of proficiency if they’re misusing words — but also because you will need to be using the appropriate phrases for SEO. If you are live streaming your small business and you repeatedly tell people that you are “livestreaming” or even “live-streaming” it, then it’s harder for visitors to locate your live stream, a movie of your live flow later, or a post about it on your site or elsewhere. The difference that could make to SEO is small, but SEO and advertising is all about getting the edge over others. These tiny errors can make all of the difference, thus be consistent — and correct!
3. How Do I Live Stream?
This is based on the service. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter all provide streaming solutions that are all incredibly user friendly.
4. How Do I Live Stream on YouTube?
There are two ways that you may live flow. However, for both, you will want to download a verified YouTube live streaming encoder. The first method is to utilize Stream. This is perfect if you would like to live flow then and there. Here is how it’s done:
Visit the Creator Studio, click on Live Streaming, then click Stream now.
Make an SEO-friendly title and compose a short SEO-friendly description at the Basic Info tab. Do not stuff your keywords in and make sure you put in a custom thumbnail.
Set the privacy listing to Public. Individuals can only see videos with access and Unlisted movies can only be observed by people who have a link to your stream.
Choose between Low Latency and Highest Quality. Both choices have upsides and drawbacks. The tradeoff is a video quality, although low latency means that the video is as near as possible to being live. Because it seems, highest quality is: the highest video quality possible. The tradeoff is that the movie could be delayed by many seconds. Depending on what you are doing, 1 option might be a option than the other.
Once the movie is live, utilize the live chat to talk to your audience. You could also discuss hyperlinks (whether that is to societal media, to your own site, or anyplace else) using the Share tools.
12 hours following your live flow is over, it is possible to turn the flow into a YouTube video. Utilize the YouTube Video Editor to edit it, however, bear in mind the YouTube enables you to do this if your movie is less than three hours long.
The second way is to produce a YouTube Event. This is best for streaming a thing as YouTube gives you control and the capability to stream events that are live in the same moment. Follow the following steps to begin:
Visit Creator Studio, click on Live Streaming and click Events.
As with all the Stream now option, fill in the Basic Info tab having an SEO-friendly title, a description and labels. Beyond this, make sure you take complete advantage of the choices Stream doesn’t and that Events gives you. For instance, make sure you bring a Start and End time.
Follow the Remainder of the same measures for Stream now.
Remember that in the event you want to flow multiple events concurrently, you’re going to require the resources. Three times the streaming usually means that you will require three times the bandwidth.
5. How Do I Live Stream on Facebook?
Facebook Live constitutes for it by being much, much simpler though they may have combined than YouTube:
Harness (or click if you are on a desktop) “What is in your mind?” At the surface of your news feed.
Choose “Live Video”.
Add a description.
That’s literally it.
As you don’t receive the same control or movie quality since you perform on YouTube, nor would you have the option to edit your flow once you have completed, the experience is far more instantaneous.
6. How Do I Live Stream on Twitter?
Periscope is Twitter support. You’ll need to download it from the App Store before you begin. After you have completed this, the process is simple:
Open up the Periscope program.
Choose your audience.
Compose a brief description.
Harness the Select icon.
Hey presto!
Much like Facebook, the live streaming agency of Twitter prides itself on its simplicity and immediacy.
7. Are There Any Additional Live Streaming Services?
There were! The industry is really young, although there was a plethora of streaming solutions and apps out there. Things change so fast that it’s hard to keep up. In 2015, Katch.me, Blab and also Meerkat were believed the most popular live streaming apps around. And now? They’re all dead. Apparently, 2016 wasn’t only a year for celebrity deaths. Katch.me expired at April, Blab expired at August and Meerkat expired at October. Twitch.tv is still hanging on in there and stays the go-to spot for live streaming computer matches. Amazon backs the company, therefore it has a good bit of clout for this. However, with many players deciding to reside flow on YouTube (PewDiePie in particular), it will be intriguing to see whether or not Twitch.tv survives 2017.
8. That Software, Service, or App is Ideal for Live Streaming My Business?
It depends on what you expect and would like from this adventure.
YouTube is mostly a movie platform and it’s the oldest live streaming service that is. What you get from YouTube are reliability and control. YouTube Events is probably the best location for it if you want to live flow a expert event that you’ve spent weeks planning.
Facebook continues to battle with YouTube for its esteemed title of biggest site in the world. But, Facebook certainly trounces YouTube when it has to do with simplicity and the immediacy of its own live streaming. If your company already has plenty of followers on Facebook (and when your Facebook page is currently getting a great deal of involvement), Facebook live streaming is perfect. As opposed to directing all of your Facebook followers you are able to certainly do it on Facebook. You won’t need as many options, however, the upside is it’s a lot simpler for the visitors to watch your stream.
Periscope, Twitter’s live streaming support, has something completely different to supply. Periscope users recommend streams may navigate streams and build a streaming network and YouTube enables users to construct community. For companies, if the time is spent in this social media and marketing platform, it might be enormous.
Twitch.tv is a streaming agency mainly for computer gaming. For most companies, there is not any advantage. However, if gambling is whatsoever relevant to your company, it’s probably the place. It’s certainly the place to go, if your organization is selling computer games.
9. Which Hardware is Ideal for Live Streaming?
Most smartphone cameras are great for a simple and fast stream. The iPhone 7, Google Pixel and also Samsung Galaxy S7 are especially perfect for filming. However, if you want to live flow a proper, organised event, it might be well worth investing in something a little more heavy duty.
10. Why Can My Live Stream So Slow, So Laggy, So Choppy, So… Crap?
You need strong bandwidth to live flow. The technology is still brand new. Remember what YouTube videos appeared in 2007? Where live streaming is 11, well, that is pretty much.
Recall this?
  11. What Could Live Cartoon Do For Firms?
YouTuber Craig Benzine once claimed that what created YouTube such a wonderful platform would be that it reduced that the “barrier for entrance” for founders. The exact same is true of streaming. In the past streaming has been something that may only happen on radio or TV. A TV show would have lots of cameras, a studio and a major budget. Anyone with a telephone can go every time they want. For smaller companies, this is huge news. A company could spend millions hoping to have out a movie message to their customers. Now, they are able to do it. However, it is worth being a tiny bit sceptical. After all, your crowd is only as large as the amount of people who follow your company on media that is social, so to compare live streaming to live TV marketing is a little disingenuous.
12. So Just What Can (or Should) You reside Stream?
There’s not any single response to this issue. Opinion is divided on whether it may be utilized to market a new product or whether or not live streaming works for boosting events. Tech journalist Johna Revesencio argues that it’s “a little both”. Then there’s the question of what exactly is a suitable point. Many churches in Scotland live streamed their Christmas solutions as a result of extreme weather conditions. This might seem like something that might attract the ire of critics, however it was instead picked up from the BBC. As live streaming becomes more prevalent, it’s unlikely that your company’ stream will get you coverage on the BBC. Currently, the notion is still fairly novel and companies are currently still experimenting. The problem, although the technology is still relatively fresh, is currently towing that line between looking like a fool and doing something revolutionary. That said, here’s a record of the things that we believe companies can (and should) live flow:
A “behind the scenes” tour of the office. Show customers how your product is made, where it’s made, and the individuals who make it since it’s made live.
Unexpected small business announcements at a minute’s notice. Blog post or A well-polished movie breaking down some announcement from the company has its place. However, so too does a impromptu live flow. Inform your customers the news there and then, before following this with something more polished.
A large company event. Blend the best sections of a announcement and a video that is polished using a stream. Your customers get to view all of the excitement of the event from the comfort of their own phones.
A “How to” or even a Q&A session. Our “Request Ninja” live streaming sessions Facebook are a terrific way for individuals to interact directly with many of our customers (and possible customers) simultaneously. The sessions have a construction, but they aren’t completely scripted. A live “How to” or even Q&A can help to give otherwise faceless organisations a friendly face to talk to in real time.
An interview with a business expert or an external expert. Show your audience that your industry is a community and that you are tapped to that neighborhood with an interview from someone beyond your company. You’re able to interview someone from inside the company, naturally, but the point is that (although the meeting should have structure) you permit a conversation to happen which your live stream audiences can followalong with Answer make sure you call and engage your audience and remarks.
13. Why Are Marketing Compatible and Social Media in This Situation? Or Is It Just a Gimmick?
Live streaming is exactly what you make of it. Should you treat live streaming like a gimmick, it is going to look. If you use it for some function it won’t. Social media and marketing compatibility is dependent upon the company doing the marketing. This can be accurate for streaming, tweeting, or even every other sort of social media outreach. To use an illustration, memes are a social media and marketing phenomenon that companies have employed with mixed results. At best, a corporation really can tap into its customers’ sense of humor. The meme gets shared thousands of times and the provider gets lots of free media. After footballer, Luis Suarez, little yet another player during the 2014 World Cup, company after company created meme after meme to capitalise on the function. At worst, your company winds up looking completely out of touch — and the exact same is true of streaming. Brands Saying Bae is a Twitter handle entirely dedicated to outing companies who have attempted to leap on the societal media fad so as to appear cool, hip, or (God forbid) “lit fam”.
It hurts to look right at it.
14. The Long Has Live Streaming Are You Around?
Live streaming feels fresh since Facebook and Twitter only properly captured onto the idea from late 2015. 2016 was the year that the had been services kicked off. It was late 2016 if Twitter first introduced 360-degree live streaming. With each of these recent developments, it might surprise some people to detect that reside streaming first debuted on YouTube way back in 2011. As 2017, companies and YouTubers alike continue to utilize YouTube Live to flow anything of. In other words, live streaming is not fresh — or it’s not as fresh as you might think. What’s new, however, is the surge in popularity. This was helped by Facebook and Twitter’s belated rollout in their own live streaming solutions and the apparently unstoppable rise of mobile internet usage, which now accounts for over half of all internet usage. As a mainstream item streaming has finally removed with internet now the main type of usage and catching on that anybody can do. Whereas in 2011 it had been for vloggers along with a couple of companies, live streaming is open to everybody. The good thing is that this means companies can (and if) capitalise on live streaming’s popularity, however, the good thing is that there’s not any actual precedent for the best way to do so.
15. What Is 360-Degree Live Streaming?
It’s live streaming… however at 360 degrees. It seems pretty exciting. You are able to show a person a spectacle that they may explore themselves at 360 degrees. Imagine the possibilities; imagine all you can do with this technology. But can you imagine any possibilities? Is there anything that you can do using this technology? YouTuber Derek Muller is not so sure. In a 360-degree video which he uploaded to YouTube, he argued that “360 is only likely to be a fad” by pointing out that the whole point of movie making is that you just show people precisely what you would like them to watch. With movie, you no longer have that control. It goes contrary to the manner marketing — and artwork in general — was absorbed for thousands of years, even though this might seem good. A book contains the sentences a TV ad comprises the info it wants prospective customers to view, however, movie comprises a great number of unique things to watch. 360 levels can’t be processed by people . Instead, they are made to focus on one thing at a time. This is the way our eyes work. It’s very important to understand the possible consequences of 360-degree live streaming, although this all will seem quite philosophical. Not every client is going to be looking at the same time at exactly the thing.
16. What Makes a Popular Live Stream? Who Are The Live Streaming Pioneers?
The Facebook flow of 2016 wasn’t from a politician, a company, or any sort of celebrity. The most-viewed Facebook live flow of 2016 has been a girl looking on a Chewbacca mask. What on Earth are companies intended to make of this? The real takeaway is that, as live streaming stays a medium, the viewed streams are not likely to reveal a lot of pattern. A good comparison is made to get by the early days of YouTube. In 2010, the most-viewed YouTube movie of all time has been a small child (called Charlie) biting the other child on the finger. However, as of 2017, the huge majority of those YouTube movies of all time are music videos. In other words, as the YouTube platform evolved, so did its own articles. It has taken of the place to watch music videos, MTV’s location. So will live streaming proceed the same way? And what would this mean for companies? The best response to the former would be “maybe”. The response to the latter would be to earn a music video. It seems challenging, but it’s exactly that type of viral articles that obtained over 7.5 million people watching and engaging with Channel 4’s advert for the 2016 Paralympic Games. Then again, perhaps not. Creating some sort of comedy sketch, or a music video, may be an appropriate way for some manufacturers to go viral, however, it’s certainly not appropriate for all brands. A music video doesn’t guarantee you views. Correlation is not causation, although sure, the YouTube movies that are hottest are music movies and lots of music movies have views whatsoever. A music video live flow for the company is as crazy a notion as it seems, and kudos if you pull it off, but it’s a strategy that depends on sheer chance, and trust, confidence to go viral. Of course, even if it does go viral, how is it for the correct reasons or is it since Brands Saying Bae thought the idea was so absurd that it deserved some mention?
17. When Should I Live Stream?
Whenever you said you’d like. The trick to a terrific streaming session would be like the secret to YouTube articles: regularity. Do it in the same time daily, week, fortnight, month, or if, if you want to live flow more than once. The thing that is main is that people understand when to listen. If it’s a one-off event that you streaming, encourage it. Alongside advertising for the event, market it actually.
18. Can I Promote My Live Stream?
You need to encourage your flow the way. Beyond this different streaming technologies have different boosting features. YouTube, by way of instance, has a whole assortment of features that allow its users to market their live streams. Other live streaming technologies will have their own features, however YouTube, being the video sharing site, will likely have the most. For Twitter and Facebook, the best method to advertise your flow is about if your stream is through Tweets and articles. Promotional photos and videos wouldn’t hurt.
19. What’s the Future of Live Streaming?
In the event the failure of Meerkat, Blab and Katch.me (and the success of live streaming a Chewbacca mask) informs us anything, it’s that predicting the future is hard. For now, companies should focus on what streaming can do in the short term to help them. The term is much too difficult to see. The horizon is obscured by unsuccessful startups and strangely popular live streams of at once or (even more eccentric) of a puddle in Newcastle.
The Upcoming large live stream?
The real goal must be to focus on the current situation. Live “How to” manuals, live “Q&A” sessions, live interviews and intimate announcements; this substance is working for companies right now. Still, let’s make two predictions that are major concerning live streaming and go out on a limb here: it will grow popular and it will grow more legitimate. The gain in popularity is based on the press coverage it’s getting, as well as the potential that the technology has. The rise in validity relies on the upswing of politicians utilizing streaming. In reality, Paul Ryan, the Republican Speaker of the House, is attempting to prohibit politicians. Should Ryan be prosperous, you could argue that live streaming will be viewed as a method for politicians to talk for their constituents. However, a more likely situation is that politicians will fight back. Indeed, they already are, claiming the ban could be “unconstitutional”. The simple fact that there are politicians live streaming to believe the necessity to apply this ban goes to show how popular the technology has become. Ryan’s attempt might simply be his method of reacting to the Democrats’ gun protest. However there’s a trend. The technology appears all the more serious and significant with politicians reside for their own followers. In 2011, a landmark Commons vote at the UK let MPs to Tweet inside the Commons Chamber. In 2017, the concept of politicians Tweeting is just as natural to us as the notion of politicians. Live streaming appears set to proceed the same manner. It’s already entered to the world of politics and it has already allowed politicians to be more transparent (or, at least, to seem like that). So it will be with companies, therefore it is with politicians. It’s no coincidence that the age of politicians and businesses utilizing social media is also the age of a businessman getting the most powerful politician from the free world through consistent (albeit erratic) Tweeting. It was Stephen Fry who said that marketing technology and networking is like a mirror. In case an idiot reverted into it, then you can not expect an Apostle to stare out. While he was talking nearly seven decades back, his thoughts on social media technologies (which in the time could have been restricted to Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube plus a couple of tablets) still use now. As a social media and marketing phenomenonstreaming is exactly what companies create of it. There are not any tendencies, there are no winners, and there aren’t any hard and fast rules. There are a couple of ideas on the works, but it only requires a couple of geniuses to alter the way we look at it. If there’s 1 thing that companies ought to know about streaming, above all else, it’s that we don’t yet understand. A good deal is known by us, and we ought to educate ourselves but we have to let live streaming to evolve and to evolve with it.
If you would like social media and marketing and advertising services from the most effective digital marketing company in britain, look no more!

Adobe Project Nimbus Leaked: This is ‘Lightroom in the Cloud’ http://ift.tt/2uuGtym
At its MAX conference in 2016, Adobe teased Project Nimbus, a new cloud-based Lightroom-style photo editor that distils complex photo editing features into simpler tools. An internal version of Project Nimbus leaked this week, giving us a peek at what Adobe is working on.
The French website MacGeneration reports that an “Internal Only” version of Project Nimbus was apparently accidentally made available to a number of Creative Cloud subscribers.
The error was quickly fixed, and Adobe acknowledged the glitch, saying: “That morning, we shared Project Nimbus by mistake with a small group of Creative Cloud customers.”
The idea of Project Nimbus is that it’s a photo editor in which your photos and edits are stored in the cloud, allowing you to easily go back and forth between desktop and mobile devices while reviewing and editing your photos. It’s a cloud-native, RAW-capable, non-destructive, photo editor and organizer that focuses on a clean user experience.
Based on the leaked software, it seems that Adobe is planning to give each Nimbus user 1TB of cloud storage, a huge jump from the 20GB currently offered to Creative Cloud users.
Nimbus will be able to automatically recognize what photos contain, allowing you to search through photos with automatically generated keywords/tags. This can also make it easy to label and organize for photographers working in fields such as stock photography. Want to find photos of water or trees? Just search for those terms.
A search for “water”
A search for “tree.”
And Nimbus is much simpler than Lightroom. Instead of multiple modules, tools, and features, photo editing is done in a single view that has some of the most used features and options available in the side panel. This interface is more similar to Lightroom for iPad than Lightroom for Desktop.
A closer look at the editing sliders. Labels in French.
Adobe has said that a beta version of Nimbus will be released sometime in 2017, so we’ll likely be seeing a much clearer picture of what the software can do soon. Stay tuned.

ON1 Photo RAW 2018 coming soon
ON1 Photo RAW 2018, which will work with both Mac and Windows with a single purchase and includes activation on up to five computers, is getting better for each new release, not just more stable, but also expanding its set of features.
The free beta version that ON1 promises to release Friday October 6th, will give those interested the chance to try the program. The plugin that is moving into the realm of full program for RAW and photo editing, is even more ambitious in this release, suggesting itself as your editor of choice not only for photo editing but also when it comes to special effects and presets. In fact, there seems to be a “war of presets” going on, and everyone – or almost everyone – is expanding the collections of presets present in the multiple programs available and fighting for a place on our desktops.
It’s not hard to be amazed looking at the videos used by ON1 to show features of the software, and the live presentation today was not different from previous ones, but one can feel the presenters are more secure, as everything seems to point that the program is on the right path. ON1 Photo RAW may not be free of bugs, but the size of the endeavor is huge, and whoever has followed the path up to here understands that ON1 has taken the program a long way. The variety of options present, the “magic” that seems to be associated with some functions, make each video, either of presentation or explaining a feature a “wow” moment that makes you want to open your computer and play with the tools.
This new version brings the essential tools and features needed in a photography workflow and the special features already present, but goes beyond that, introducing some of the suggestions made by users in the ON1 Photo RAW Project forum. Photographers will now have an integrated tool with accelerated photo management, precise photo development, hundreds of customizable photo effects, fast and beautiful HDR, pano stitching, masking and blending adjustments, layers, and much more – in one app.
From the beginning the ON1 community has driven the development of ON1 Photo RAW based on what’s most important to them. Almost every feature and improvement made to the app in version 2018 is a direct result of community input through the ON1 Photo RAW Project. “We are very excited to make the Photo RAW 2018 Beta freely available to the worldwide photography community this Friday. Over the next few weeks we will solicit user feedback and put the finishing touches on the app for an end of October release,” said Dan Harlacher, Director of Product Management. This type of transparency is what customers can continue to expect from the ON1 team. This process has solidified ON1 Photo RAW as the app designed by photographers for photographers.
ON1 Photo RAW 2018 will be updated and enhanced in many areas. Key new features will include the following:
ON1 HDR – Create stunning HDR photos that merge all tonality from a bracket of photos in a fraction of the time (test results have shown up to seven times faster than other HDR apps).  Automatically aligns photos and removes ghosting from motion between exposures. Includes full non-destructive editing with natural results and can be turned up to 11 for a surreal look.
Pano Stitching  – Combine multiple photos into a single panoramic or matrix photo. Automatically aligns photos, even if they are not shot on a tripod, and blends them together seamlessly. An option to embed panoramic metadata for Facebook panning is also available.
Global Mask Editing Tools – These include new mask Density and Feather sliders to allow for changing the density or opacity of masks as well as blur masks for softening.
Luminosity Mask Updates – Adjust the levels of a mask to increase the contrast or brightness as well as set a tonal window to only affect a certain zone.  These updates allow users to target just the area they want, based on the photo.
Color Range Masks – Create a mask from a color range selection.
Blur and Chisel Mask Tools – In ON1 Effects, the Blur and Chisel mask tools are now included. The blur tool is perfect for softening or feathering a mask selectively. The Chisel tool lets the user push or pull the edge selectively, to remove halos. All of these new masking options are re-editable and non-destructive.
Versions — Versions are virtual copies of the same photo. Each version created can include non-destructive settings, including crop, retouching and adjustments. Versions work just like any other photo without taking up more space on your computer.
Updated UI — Clean and modern UI where your photo is the center of attention. Custom name filters and layers to easier keep track of work. Also select your own UI accent color.
Paint with Color Brush — Painting with color can be a solid color, perfect for skin smoothing and making annotation layers, or paint with just the color and leave the underlying luminosity in place to change the color of objects like eyes.
Selectively Add or Remove Noise — Brush away noise in areas like skies or add noise for an artistic effect.
ON1 Photo for Mobile — Take the best shots with you on the go with the free ON1 Photo for Mobile app. It’s a great way to share portfolios. It can also sync new photos taken on phones back to the desktop so those photos are ready for editing.
Additional Camera & Lens Support — Added support for the Nikon D850, Olympus EM-10 III and Panasonic DMC-G85, plus a ton of new lenses.
ON1 continues to make it clear that their software differentiates itself from other apps by allowing photographers to both browse and catalog their photos from the very beginning of their workflow. This hybrid system provides one of the fastest ways to manage and organize photos. The ultra fast photo browser is perfect for quickly viewing and culling through photos without having to wait on an import process. Once the culling process is complete, the ability to create and catalog those photos is the next step in most common workflows.
There is plenty more available within the apps non-destructive workflow in terms of photo development. These features include re-editable adjustments such as exposure, contrast, color, shadows, highlights, lens correction, and transform tools. The hundreds of unique photo effects are also perfect for finishing off your photos to add that extra punch. Photographers have complete control of how each effect is applied using masking brushes, gradients masks, and local adjustments. Each effect is also completely customizable to save any look as a custom preset.
Photo editing technologies such as live blending options, apply to, smart layers, smart photos, and mask refinement tools also make ON1 Photo RAW 2018 a more advanced pixel editor without having to launch a separate app. The ability to combine photos together with layers, masks, and selectively apply filters and effects to raw photos gives users a big advantage.
Although the name might make you think this is just a RAW editor, ON1 Photo RAW 2018 isn’t just for raw files. Supported file formats include JPEG, TIF, PSD, PSB, PNG, and DNG are supported and benefit from the speed, performance, and abundance of editing tools in the app. Photo RAW 2018 also continues to work seamlessly within current photography workflows. The app integrates as a plug-in for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and further builds its case as a complete standalone photo editor. Version 2018 also integrates with the major cloud services to allow for uploading, managing and editing photos across multiple computers. This also allows users to sync photos and their edits across multiple computers or in a studio setting.
ON1 Photo RAW 2018 will be available for download as a free public beta on October 6th from the ON1 website. Previous owners of any ON1 app (or ON1 plug-in) can upgrade for just $79.99, regularly $99.99. Those who don’t own an ON1 app can pre-order for $119.99. For a limited time, ON1 Photo RAW 2018 will be bundled with some  bonus materials which include: Three ON1 Photo RAW 2018 Courses by Product Director Dan Harlacher, and all of their 2017 and 2018 Loyalty Rewards. A single purchase of ON1 Photo RAW 2018 will work with both Mac and Windows and include activation on up to five computers. The full release of ON1 Photo RAW 2018 is currently scheduled for the end of October. ON1 will also be releasing another update to the previous version, ON1 Photo RAW 2017, later this year. This update will include support for new cameras and lenses along with bug fixes.
The new version brings, no doubt, a series of interesting features requested by users, but it will be also interesting to see how users who bought ON1 Photo RAW 2017, and have lived through the multiple problems of bugs in this version – and the previous ones – accept that there is no free upgrade for them – apparently – unless they are part of the Plus Pro subscription model that ON1 implemented. Besides, the announced update for ON1 Photo RAW 2017, later this year, will seemingly include only support for new cameras and lenses along with bug fixes.
Preparing all this, Craig Keudell, President and Founder of ON1 wrote an open letter to users, which was published on his Facebook page September 21. I urge you to go there and read it, as it may help to explain a bit more about ON1 and the projects the company has for the future.  Then, take a decision. If you have not, try the ON1 Photo RAW software, either the available trial of the 2017 version or the soon available beta of 2018,  first…

We don’t often think about exhibition … until it goes wrong
One item of filmmaking and media production that people don’t often talk about a lot is the exhibition of the projects many of us work so hard to produce. I experienced a case really bad exhibition recently when I went to attend a Fathom Event at local Regal Cinema. Theatrical presentation is that one place we all strive for yet we have the least control when it comes to the presentation.
It’s an exciting opportunity to get to see ones work on the movie screen (especially when you don’t work in theatrical).
If you’re not familiar with Fathom Events they are “live event” type movie productions that are shown in theaters all around the country in a partnership amongst a number of theater chains. They show things like sporting events; operas are a common one you often see a preview for; there are special event movies and documentaries and a lot of concerts. I had the pleasure of editing a recent documentary on comedian Chonda Pierce which was shown as a Fathom event. There was a premier screening on April 25 as well as an encore presentation two weeks later. I was at NAB when the premiere happened so I was excited to get an encore on Tuesday May 9.

When talking about the exhibition one wants perfect screening conditions for the film that they have directed, edited, DPed etc. Hopefully that includes comfy seats, pleasant temperatures, optimal sound and good picture. It’s funny to talk about exhibition in this modern world because so much media is consumed on cell phones and touchscreen devices but I don’t think people think about the perfect viewing experience be it in a well-equipped home theater or an actual movie house. This particular screening began with no picture as in the screen was black and we could hear a rather muffled audio playing in the theater speaker. I knew when the promos were over and the movie began because I could hear the opening score but still no picture. I left the theater and asked first employee I saw to check the problem and restart the picture. She said that they would do just that. After a couple minutes the picture turned on but the sound was still terrible. After a several more minutes of not restarting the picture I went back out on the same poor soul that had to experienced my wrath to tell them that things were still screwed up.
Hey @RegalMovies your Hollywood 27 theater in Nashville has screwed up their Fathom event tonight. No picture then bad sound.

After another 10 or 15 minutes of the movie playing I could see someone up in the projection booth attempting to do something and something did happen. The production stopped. There were several attempts to restart as the Fathom Events promo began playing over and over but it still sounded terrible. After about 20 minutes of this the theatre management came in and announced that they would be unable to show the production because one of the amplifiers in the theater had been blown. Apparently they had shown a Bollywood movie in this smaller theater at some point prior and “those loud Bollywood movies” were never meant to be shown in a theater that size. The Bollywood movie was so loud it “blew the amp.” Why no one monitored that is beyond me but I guess with 27 screens you just program everything in and let it go.
Back behind that glass I could see someone actually trying to fix the screening.
I immediately wondered how many other movies they had shown in the theater with the blown amplifier since it sounded like this other screening was at least the day before. A Fathom Event plays off a file so I had assumed it would be easy enough to move the showing to another screen since the Theater has 27 of them. But according to management, complications around the business side of Fathom Events means they’re unable to ever move a Fathom Event from one screening room to another. I made several attempts to reach out to both Fathom Events and Regal Cinemas by their Twitter accounts letting them know what had happened but I got no response at all. To the credit of the theater they did offer full refunds (which of course they should’ve done since the Fathom Event tickets are nearly $20) as well as offering vouchers for any other movie any other time including special events and RPX screenings. The people running the theater, and it has to be very thankless job, were very sorry about what had happened but their hands really seem to be tied as far as having another screening. They were unsure if they would be able to make up this particular screening at a later time.
At least we weren’t the only ones having problems with this Fathom Event.
The problem with the audio was a very muffled sound with the music bed actually being listenable but the dialogue was very muted. If you listened really close you could kind of understand the dialog and I was amazed by the number of people in the theatre that seemed to want to watch the production even with the bad sound. I think that speaks a lot to the subject matter and fans of the artist as opposed to people just willing to watch bad exhibition.
Hey @fathomevents the @RegalMovies Hollywood 27 in Nashville screwed up the Fathom screening tonight. Thought you might like to know
— Scott Simmons (@editblog) May 10, 2017
As the editor I wanted the best screening conditions possible. I often think about poor directors and cinematographers in the modern era who do their best to attempt to bring beautiful, cinematic images to the screen only to have them viewed in suboptimal conditions. I once chatted with a friend who hated the movie There Will Be Blood and I couldn’t understand why he hated it so much. Come to find out he watched the entire 2 hour and 38 minute movie on his phone on an airplane. There’re a lot of movies I can think about that is not properly viewed on your phone on an airplane and There Will Be Blood is right at the top of the list.
But back to the screening in the theater; box office numbers seem to be up over the last few years even if tickets sales are trending down but theaters owners and exhibitors are becoming increasingly frustrated with Hollywood. There continues to be a push to lower the theatrical window or to even have movies released in the home at the same time they’re released in the theaters … but for a higher price. The consumer wants this but the theater owner does not. You can do this today if you’re will to pay up.
To continue to have success at the box office theater owners and exhibitors need to continue to offer up a premium experience to those of us willing to pay + or – $20 per person to go to the theater. A number of “innovations” have come along in recent years that helps with that: a premium viewing experience, dinner and booze, reserved seating and kicking out cell phone users are a good start. I think that most of us that go to the theater would be fine with phones being allowed as long as the movies are identified as such and we can avoid them at all costs. But beyond the viewing experience among those kinds of movie distractions it’s the filmmaker who cringes most at the idea of a jungle gym inside the theatre or talking when everyone else is trying to watch the movie.
There were a lot of $20 refunds and Regal passes given out after the screening. The theatre also let anyone at the Fathom event go see another movie that night and get free refills on their concessions. At least the inconvenienced crowd didn’t seem too upset at the inconvenience.
Back to the actual projection of the image to the screen. That is something the viewer can’t do anything about. We sit at the mercy of the theater management and some kind of almost-projectionist sitting in the booth manning a hard drive. Best we can do as theatrical consumers is complain loudly to the theatre when the exhibition goes wrong. Ask for refunds, call the theatre chain, hit them up on social media. And what the theatre chains can do is respond and reply and let the consumer know they are doing what they can do keep the customer returning to the movie house.
Also @fathomevents your survey monkey site won’t let me use the “other” option to express my frustration with this @RegalMovies screening
— Scott Simmons (@editblog) May 10, 2017
I tried to complain to Fathom via their Customer Experience Survey Monkey form that was advertised on-screen before the event began, but that was a bust both on mobile at the screening and on the desktop afterwards.
You know Fathom if you’re going to provide an Other category you should probably at least provide a button for Other so we could continue the survey after choosing Other … I mean … Other was my answer!
Regal doesn’t even have a category on their Send Us an Email contact form for projection and screening issues.
I never heard a reply back from either Regal Cinemas or Fathom Events after tweeting to them about the bad screening experience. Others have had similar experiences and from the several Fathom Events I’ve been to over the years it’s the ones with problems that stick out in my mind. Both Regal Cinemas and Fathom Events could take a page from some of these companies about how to handle customer service on Twitter. I guess I should have tweeted to Regal Problems instead but somehow I don’t think that’s an actual Regal Twitter account. I guess I’ll send this little rant over to them via their contact forms.
