#i don't have time to write a long response but this is the gist of it #i know i had a caption once calling edward neurotypical (derogatory) but that was a joke about the way he was pulling gordon's strings #they are ALL nd #that's an essay for another time #chatter #this is not joking even a little bit nor do i think it should be controversial #i think that's a huge draw for the series #like the connection between autistic kids tending to really like the model series is well-known #also autistics and railway culture in general (machinery! timetables!)#but i think there's even more to it than that #the dynamic between TFC/crews and the engines in particular #and the (albeit unintentional?) coded representation of other kinds of nd people
