Angy about how we have known about Mitsuba and Shinoa knowing each other before the formation of the Shinoa squad ever since chapter 8 and still… a decade, 4 months and 5 days later the manga never ever touched this subject again…ever…

It's a little sexist to downgrade shinoa to a love interest bc that's what ppl tend to think that kagami does, if she was a boy having a crush on yuu no one would say a word, take mika as an example , i agree woth what you said, kagami makes everyone suffer from in love with the protagonist sydrome and let's not talk about guren
I do see where the other anonymous’s concern is though.
While writing a girl in love is not bad per se, the fact that he makes everything regarding Shinoa about that is more sexist than what you’re pointing.
We get to finally see Mahiru and Shinoa in the same panel and BAM suddenly it’s about Shinoa and her crush.
We get to see something regarding Shinoa’s demon but BAM it’s about Yuu again.
And again and again.
There has NOT been an instance where Shinoa gets to have a serious moment that doesn’t eventually bring up her “infatuation” with Yuu.
While the rest of characters also orbit around Yuu and Guren, at least:
-Kimizuki has his issue with his sister
-Yoichi has his revenge in mind, had to overcome his fears, etc
-Narumi wants to get his family back
They usually mention how Yuu helped them or how kind he is but AT LEAST their development and most important topic don’t necessarily revolve around Yuu.
But everything we ever hoped to learn about Shinoa eventually turned out to be about Yuu.
Her relationship with her family, her sister, her powers, her demon, EVERYTHING
EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND YUU
And I’m starting to think that Mitsuba is actually BLESSED that she’s not getting any dialogues because I’m at least 98% sure any chance of development she could have would have eventually become about Yuu.
AND DON’T GET ME WRONG: the same happens to Mika.
Everything is about Yuu.
But, and I’ve pointed this out before, Mikaela gets the same treatment female characters get because he was going to be one, as confirmed in the German Q&A, and I think that explains why he has that same problem. (That and there’s another reason, but I think this is also part of it.)
We can tell that Kimizuki and the rest of male characters do get some personal ambitions or development that isn’t 90% attached to Yuu.
But the girls+Mika??? Bitch where??
Heck, even Mitsuba’s sister doesn’t seem to be anything away from Kureto.
I get it: it’s a shonen manga, written by a man, what’s there to expect?
But I think I have the right to point these things.
