here’s phobos. the director. he totally stole his cape from an iterator. don’t worry they’re dead they can’t complain. they also can’t complain about the fact he tore apart their puppet to get at its machinery either! the antenna on his helmet is from said iterator btw

so uh. the nexus. colony of slugcats living within the collapsed facility of a long-dead iterator (well, as dead as iterators get, anyways). managed to reactivate a couple of systems, actually

they’re called the nexus because the iterator was named diverging nexus point. the records were a bit corrupted and all that and also slugcats don’t quite understand the full scope of what’s going on, of course, so they just managed to figure out the “nexus” part of the iterator’s name and then the director went “yeah okay that’s us now”

anyways the director misunderstands the great problem entirely and thinks he can totally become a god if he solves it.
