Losing my FUCKING mind that buffys immediate reaction to angel saying he needs to leave for a few months is "but its my birthday" like dear god she is a KID she is a TEENAGER she's about to go through this horribly traumatic experience with angelus that hangs over her for years and she's still so young that her first response to this happening is that it's unfair bc it's her birthday bc she's a KID OTL

Many weird and noteworthy things about season 1 / early season 2 of buffy but by far the funniest is how baitly they seemed to be setting up willow and xander to be an actual couple. I feel like if you had no prior knowledge of btvs and just watched season 1 it would seem really obvious that they were going to do the classic teen movie cliche of xander having a crush on the cool girl but eventually realising that the right person for him was Right Under His Nose All Along, and then you jump forward four seasons and willow is gay and has a girlfriend and xander's getting engaged to an initially one-off character from season 3 and the two of them have this extremely deep sibling-like relationship which is constantly reiterated to be the most platonic thing ever. They were the great American straightbait and they mean everything to me

personally I find the critical/public response to arcane very funny. i don’t think i’ve ever seen another case where a show becomes popular and the immediate response is to warn everyone who enjoys it that they should under no circumstances get into the source material

My #1 post of 2022
you know what after all the years of people mistakenly giving tim burton credit for henry selick’s work, seeing selick being called a “visionary director” in the wendell & wild teaser feels unbelievably fucking vindicating
