i think it's really cool how in most fanart i can easily figure out who's dorcas and who's mary even though there's not any canon description of their physical appearance (that i know of) other than 'black'

#from what ive seen. dorcas is usually depicted with braids or locs while mary usually has her hair natural/in an afro #it reminds me of the 'giving james square glasses to differentiate him from harry' thing #also mary is usually more... soft for lack of a better word? like more cottagecore esque #while dorcas usually looks like she can kill me with a single glance (i'd let her)#so it affects their clothes/jewelry/mannerisms too #anyway what does everyone else think #like do y'all notice these things too? is it easy for y'all to tell them apart?
