god, i just finished astarion's companion quest and i'm on cloud fucking nine. "killed" cazador like 2 rounds into the fight by hurling his evil nerd ass off the edge of his stupid drama pillar with wyll's eldritch blast. then convinced astarion that he could be better than what cazador tried to make of him so he stopped the ritual, stabbed cazador to death, and freed all the spawn. karlach said she was so proud of astarion that she could "smooch that pointy little face" of his. then back at camp, astarion expressed his heartfelt thanks to my paladin, who he has been clashing with for this ENTIRE playthrough, for seeing the good in him even though he's resisted it so often.

i'm fucking swimming in validation right now. i don't think i'll stop smiling for the next hour.
