a/n: sorry for the long post im on mobile so i cant use the keep reading cut whixh i think is annoying af. feedback and reblogs would be greatly appreciated! idk when ch2 will up. next week most likely. i put all of my energy into this first chapter so i still need to plot the next one and outline it and what not.
***
Thor felt love for his wife Jane and his friends but nothing compared to the little bundle of joy that he held in his arms. When Jane first told him she was pregnant, he was absolutely thrilled and now their daughter was finally here. She was perfect. Absolutely perfect. She took after Thor with his eyes and curly blonde hair but had her mother’s nose, lips and chin.
Fresh tears trickled down Thor’s cheeks as he admired his new daughter that was wrapped in a blanket.
“So beautiful.” Thor praised. His infant daughter grabbed one of his fingers, making him smile.
“You’re never going to give her back are you?” Jane asked as she saw how in love Thor was with their child.
“Never.”
Jane rolled her eyes. “May I remind you that I did all the work?”
“Okay, you can name her but that’s the best I can do.” Thor teased.
“I always liked the name Hannah.”
Thor smiled down at his daughter. “Hannah, daughter of Thor. I like the sound of that.”
***
“What do you think you’re doing?” Thor chuckled as he watched his little girl attempt to climb onto the throne.
She grunted, pushing herself up but to no avail. “Trying to sit on my throne.” she pouted.
“Your throne?” Thor questioned.
“Well someday it will be.”
Thor laughed, picking up his little toddler in his arms. “Yes, one day, little one. You are destined for greatness and someday you shall be the queen of Asgard. But for now, you’re my little princess.” He gently kissed her cheek.
“Dad! Not in front of Uncle Loki!”
He looked up to see his brother approaching them. “Don’t worry, I didn’t see anything.” He smirked, holding his palms up.
Hannah wiggled out of her father’s arms to run after her uncle. She hugged his legs before he picked her up and wrapped her arms around his neck. “How about we do some training today little one?” Loki asked.
“Okay.” Hannah smirked as she held up one of his daggers.
“You little sneak!”
They both laughed.
Thor stared at them. “You teaching my daughter to pickpocket?!”
Loki shrugged, trying to look innocent. “Figured I should teach her what I know.”
“She’s only five! Too young for daggers!”
Hannah rolled her eyes. “Told you he’d get mad when he found out.”
“Well you’re the one who picked in front of him.”
“You taught me.”
“Touche.”
“I don’t like my daughter playing with weapons.” Thor said sternly.
“Brother, hear me out….”
“Okay, I’m waiting.” Thor crossed his arms.
Loki cleared his throat but no words came out. Thor raised a brow.
“Never thought you’d let me get this far.” Loki admitted.
“Dad, he’s teaching me to defend myself.” Hannah spoke.
“Yes, what she said.” Loki agreed, nodding.
“Hannah darling, you’re only five.” Thor defended. “What do you need to defend yourself from?”
She rolled her eyes. “I’m a highly sophisticated five year old.”
“She’s not wrong.” Loki shrugged.
Thor sighed, seeing he was outnumbered. Looks like his daughter inherited her mother’s stubbornness. “Tell me you’re being careful.”
She nodded. “Haven’t even scratched myself yet, Father.”
“You should see her in action. She’s a feisty one!” Loki smiled at her proudly.
Thor sighed again. “I’d rather not.”
“So can we train Uncle Loki? Please?” Hannah batted her eyes and there was no way Loki could say no.
“Course. That is if your father is okay with it.”
They both looked up at Thor. “Pout your lips, he can’t resist when I do it.” she whispered to him.
Loki pouted his lower lip making Thor chuckle. “Alright. Just be careful. I mean it.”
“Thanks Daddy! I promise!”
***
That evening Hannah was in her bedroom with her mother Jane who was braiding her hair as she told of her adventures with Uncle Loki.
“Knives huh?” Jane asked.
She nodded. “You should have seen me, Mom! Uncle Loki said I was really good for my age!”
“Uncle Loki.” Jane sighed, still not his biggest fan. “I don’t like the idea of you playing with sharp objects honey.”
“Daddy said the same thing but he let me.”
Jane sighed again, padding her shoulders. “All done, sweetie.” They looked in her mirror, Hannah admiring her new French braid. “I love it, Mommy! Thank you!” She stood up to hug her and kiss her cheek, making Jane laugh.
“You’re welcome, sweetie.”
“You’re not gonna let me stop training with Uncle Loki are you?” She pouted. “We have a lot of fun.”
“You’re guilt tripping me aren’t you?” Jane asked.
“Maybe.” Hannah looked away innocently.
“Well I guess you should know how to protect yourself.” she said.
“Thank you, Mommy.” Hannah kissed her cheek again.
“This is my dagger.” She grabbed her weapon from her dresser and showed it to her. “Isn’t it beautiful?”
“Also dangerous.” said Jane, holding it in her hand. It was rather stunning. A black hilt decorated with green jewels. Swirls were carved in the blade.
“Uncle Loki gave it to me.” Hannah smiled proudly.
“The things he teaches you.” she sighed.
“You teach me things too, Mommy.”
“Like what?” she smiled.
“Well I know how to be nice and kind to everyone and you just taught me how to French Braid. Uncle Loki is teaching me self defense. Father teaches me about strength, loyal and honor.”
Jane smiled down at her, proud of what the woman her daughter was growing into. “We just want you to be safe is all.” She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
“I know, Mommy. Like I told, Daddy, haven’t even scratched myself yet.”
Jane stroked her cheek fondly and kissed her temple. “It’s getting late, honey, let’s go to bed.”
“Okay, Mommy.”
***
Jane walked in the empty corridor, her daughter now asleep for the night. She had a few words to say to her Uncle Loki.
She knocked on his door and he answered. “Fancy seeing you here, Lady Jane.”
Jane rolled her eyes at the nickname. “I want to talk.”
Loki stepped aside to let her in. “I know we’re family now but that doesn’t mean I have forgotten about what you did in New York.”
This time Loki rolled his eyes. “Heaven's sake that was a lifetime ago.”
“Still, it happened.”
Loki didn’t respond.
“But I’m gonna put up with you because I see how much my daughter loves you. She admires you and she spent twenty minutes excitingly telling me about your training.” Her voice was laced with venom at the last word. “I don’t think it’s exactly appropriate giving five year olds sharp objects.”
Loki forced a dry laugh. “Thor said that to me as well and I understand but I also think you two underestimate her. She is more capable than you know. I am training her so she can be great.”
Jane sighed. “She can be great doing other things than fighting.”
“I’m not teaching her to fight. I’m teaching her self defense. There is a difference.”
Jane narrowed her eyes at him. “Whatever you call it, I want her to safe. Train her better, train her harder. Train her to where she can defeat even you.”
An uncomfortable silence settled between the two adults. “I will, I promise.” Loki swore. “I care about her more than you know as if she were my own. I would never do anything to put her in arms way. I would never make her do anything I wouldn’t think she was capable of.”
Jane stared at him, surprised by how genuine he sounded. He was telling the truth. “Just keep her safe.”
“Yes, Lady Jane. You have my word.”
Jane smirked. “Enough with this Lady Jane crap. It’s weird.”
Loki bowed making her roll her eyes. “I’m going to bed, goodnight.”
****
Thor never liked the idea of his daughter playing with weapons but he found himself watching from nearby as she and Loki train in the throne room. He cheered when she sent Loki to the floor, a knife at his neck. He had to admit she was rather good.
Loki chuckled. “Better. Much better.”
Hannah smirked. “Don’t worry I wouldn’t have actually stab you.”
“Thanks.”
She offered her hand and he took it but he pulled her into a headlock, forcing her to her knee with his foot.
“How many times do I have to tell you not to let your guard down?”
She grunted. “Damn it.”
He let go and flipped his dagger. “Letting your guard down can have deadly consequences. Never forget that.” He let her go and she cursed to herself. “Think that’s enough training for today.” It’s been years since his encounter with Jane but he has never forgotten the promise he made to her to making Hannah better than him in training.
Hannah scolded herself as she left the throne room, catching her dad in the hall. “Hey, Dad. What are you doing in here?”
Thor was caught off guard. “What? Oh, I was just uh, inspecting these columns.” He patted the one next to him. “Yup. Still sturdy.”
Hannah saw right through his lie. “You were watching me and Uncle Loki weren’t you?”
“No.” he scoffed, avoiding eye contact, crossing his arms.
“You’re so full of it.” she smirked as she and him went down the hall.
“You are pretty good, by the way.” Thor spoke, his arm around her.
“Thanks, Dad.”
She was twelve now and has become a rather excellent fighter but Uncle Loki still wasn’t entirely please. He was hard on her. All she wanted to do was please him but nothing seemed good enough.
She and her father stood out on the balcony, overlooking Asgard in all its glory. It was beautiful and she never got tired of it.
“Dad?”
“Yes, love?”
“When can I visit Earth? Mom is from there and you told me of all your adventures you had. Seems only fair I can come too.”
Thor sighed. “I thought about it. But I was going to wait till your older. Earth is...strange...dangerous. Here in Asgard, you’re safe.”
“But being safe all the time is boring.” Hannah complained. “I know how to defend myself. You saw. Please, Dad I really want to go.”
“Okay, let’s make a deal.” Thor said, Hannah hanging on his every word. “You can come along with me when you can defeat Loki in training.”
She scoffed. “That's not fair.”
“Never said it had to be fair. Or you can wait till you’re sixteen. Whichever comes first.”
Hannah groaned. “Fifteen?”
“Fine.” Like she would ever beat her Uncle.
Her father rested a hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry, love.”
He gently kissed her on her head before leaving.
Hannah sighed. She stood there for what felt like hours, watching the sky change. She rested her forearms on the balcony, looking down and something caught her eye. She noticed a young boy, her age maybe a little older. Three other boys were surrounding him. He looked uncomfortable, almost intimidated like he was prey and the boys were a pack of wolves.
Hannah almost ignored them but when she saw them shove the cornered boy to the ground, anger boiled inside of her. If there was one thing she hated was bullies.
“What are you gonna do about it, blind boy?” the middle boy mocked. “Gonna go cry to your parents? Oh right. They’re dead.”
“Don’t you know? Blind boys can’t cry.”
“Good one.” The boys bumped fists.
The cornered boy felt utterly helpless as he was backed against the wall. One of them raised their fists but before he could punch him, Hannah suddenly dropped down between them, grabbing hold of his fist.
“Whoa, what the fuck? Where did you come from?” They jumped back, startled.
“Asgard.” Hannah answered, flatly.
“Move out the way, this isn’t your business.”
“Dude, that’s Thor’s daughter.” one of the bullies realized.
“So? I’m not afraid of her.”
Hannah looked back at the boy behind her. “You okay?” she whispered.
He nodded.
The lead bully took advantage and swung at her but she grabbed his arm, surprising him. “Bitch, please.” she scoffed, rolling her eyes. She twisted his arm behind his back and stepped behind his knee, forcing him to the ground. He cried out in pain.
“Hurt this boy again and I’ll break your wrists? Got it?”
They nodded and she let go, shoving him with her foot. They scrambled away like cowards with tails under their legs. She had to admit it felt good finally using some of the techniques her uncle has tought her.
She turned to face him. “It’s okay, I won’t hurt you. What’s your name? I’m Hannah.”
“Zander.”
“Hey, Zander. Why were they teasing you?”
“I’m blind.”
“Oh.”
“Thanks for saving me. You didn’t have to.”
“I know.” She smiled. He smiled back. She couldn’t help but notice how cute he was. He had messy black hair and freckles dusted across his cheeks and nose. His lashes were a mile long. His eyes were a milky white but they almost glowed. He was rather skinny and wore ragged clothes.
“I was just about to go home and have dinner. Care to join?” She paused. “Maybe after a bath?”
“W-why are you being nice to me?” His voice was frail and it broke her heart.
“Because being mean doesn’t help anybody. C’mon.” She offered him her hand again and he hesitated. She was the only person he knew that showed him any kindness. Her hand felt soft and smooth as his fingers curled around her own, the boy realizing that she truly meant no harm. That moment he swore his loyalty to her. She saved his life and one day he swore to save hers.

BnHA Chapter 134: A Magnificent Debut
Previously on BnHA: Some yakuza dickwad shot Amajiki with a bullet that deactivated his quirk. Kirishima ran off after him and laid him out with a manly punch. The guy acted like a good defeated villain for about 30 seconds, and then shot himself up with some sort of quirk-enhancing drug. Then he sprouted a bunch of swords from his body and tried to stab Kirishima. Kirishima flashed back to his quirk-strengthening training, and a pep talk that Bakugou gave him about never backing down. Present-day Kirishima then proceeded to hulk out into a badass unbreakable rock man.
Today on BnHA: Kirishima wraps up his fight and, spoiler alert, wins. Everyone congratulates him and it even ends up making the news. Meanwhile, Fat Gum relays the news about the quirk-suppressing and enhancing drugs to Nighteye. Several days later, Kirishima is called back in to his internship along with Deku, Tsuyu, and Ochako. All of them meet up at Nighteye’s office, along with the Big Three, Fat Gum, Ryuukyuu, and even Aizawa and Gran Torino. Nighteye informs them all that he’s gathered them to discuss the Eight Precepts.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 164 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
Kirishima Eijirou has turned into a weird sort of dinosaur looking dude made out of rock
and he’s running toward knifey stabby man, whose swords are now all broken, as you’ll recall
oh damn, knifey stabby man is making one last all-in play here
Tumblr media
that’s enough swords to build the goddamn iron throne
Kirishima is taking the entire blow head-on because there are still people behind him and people in the shops around them
he’s so fucking heroic you guys
he’s thinking to himself that he’ll use brute force to overwhelm him. heeeeey. exactly like All Might said, huh
Tumblr media
I was just starting to think to myself that I was getting a bit tired of Kirishima just turning into a rock dude and doing muscly rock dude things, and then this fucking happens and I’m like, “but damned if it isn’t satisfying to see Kirishima punch this guy so hard he goes flying off his feet, though”
and then I also remember that my all-time favorite moment in this series is not when Bakugou fought Deku the second time, or when All Might hugged Deku on the beach, or even when All Might hugged Bakugou, but rather when Kouta punched Deku in the nuts that one time
so idk. maybe at the end of the day I’m pretty simple-minded after all
that said, this guy had better be down for real this time
Tumblr media
that was pretty manly, dude
one of the bystanders is like, “he’s so young... but such fury...” lmao. yes. look how furious
Tumblr media
furious like a damn puppy
knifey stabby has started crying again
he’s fucking asking Kirishima to let him go. um, no lol
what the fuck Kirishima
Tumblr media
“sorry I can’t do that because you shot my friend and tried to kill me after you just pulled this exact same stunt two minutes ago. but I will still be empathetic towards you because I’M LITERALLY THE NICEST PERSON”
seriously Kiri, Red Riot isn’t gonna cut it any more. time to change that hero name to Mister Nice Guy
and then when you get really pissed off, you can be all, “THAT DOES IT!!! NO MORE MISTER NICE GUY.” get it. I think it’s a good idea that could really catch on
now what is this son of a bitch up to
Tumblr media
are you gonna launch yourself into the air or something. don’t do that, actually. Kirishima’s not that mobile. although it has been a while since we last saw FG so maybe he could show up and catch you
oh look. he is launching yourself into the air
Kirishima’s cursing himself for just standing there and letting him escape again. yeah, you dumb, boy
knifey stabby is gleefully whooping about how Kirishima is way too naive and trusting, and that he’s gonna get away! for sure! no way he’s getting caught!! famous last words, what do you mean, what are those
lol
Tumblr media
as many times as this series has pulled the rug out from under me, it’s nice to still be able to call it every once in a while
FG’s capturing the guy with his quirk and reminding Kirishima that while villains may have any number of goals, the heroes’ goals are always the same: capture the villains without any victims
hey, that sounds familiar. basically just another way of saying “win and rescue”, isn’t it? All Might really was right
anyway here’s FG’s quirk
Tumblr media
at first I read this as “5000 goopy” and I was like, “what an odd unit of measurement”
Kiri’s standing there excitedly and thinking “wow! FG beat him instantly!” but really all he did was stand there and absorb him into his goop
now a nice Kansai accented man is thanking Kiri and says he did amazing, and that he didn’t fail to notice how Kiri was purposely keeping knifey stabby focused on him so that he wouldn’t attack the others
what a nice thing to say in front of Kiri’s mentor!
LOOK AT THIS WHOLESOME CONTENT
Tumblr media
[HAIR RUFFLES!!!!]
now we’re back by the takoyaki place and Kiri is apparently telling FG and Amajiki about the quirk-enhancing drug
FG seems to know a lot about this. he says the short duration indicates the drug is an Asian knockoff. apparently there are African ones that last up to 1-2 hours
how much do you want to bet that Overhaul kept all the long-lasting ones for his best guys
(ETA: sweet jesus imagine if he had. we would still be in that basement to this day)
one of the cops is running over to FG
looks like they found the “bullet” that ricocheted off of Kirishima’s hardened forehead earlier and are going to check it out
Kiri’s asking Amajiki if he’s okay, and Amajiki is hiding himself under his costume hood
he’s embarrassed not just because his quirk stopped working, but because his kouhai had to cover for him. d’aww
he says Kirishima is the same type as Mirio. “another of those that shines bright like the sun”
Kiri says Amajiki shines just as much!
I’m starting to feel like Kirishima may literally be compelled to say something whenever someone around him starts badmouthing themselves. like, he physically can’t stand there and let them
while they bond, Fat Gum is thinking to himself that although he’s familiar with the quirk-boosting drugs, he’s never heard of a drug that makes quirks unusable. and he’s thinking to himself that this doesn’t look good
so they’re gonna take Amajiki to the hospital to get him checked out. good call. why haven’t they already done that, in fact. why were they just standing around talking for so long
“for starters, let’s head back to the office.” dude. I’m glad you’re being chill about this, I guess, but there’s like no urgency at all
BACK TO U.A. HOORAY
Kaminari is excitedly waving his phone in Kirishima’s face and announcing that Kiri made the news
meanwhile Bakugou is grinding his teeth but not actually saying anything. does that count as being supportive
(ETA: ooh I forgot he was in this one panel here. probably because he does absolutely nothing at all. but he really sells that background gag though)
Ochako and Tsuyu made the news too! niiiiiice
Iida is telling them that they’ve “rendered a splendid service”
BUT
Tumblr media
sometimes he reminds me of Percy from HP
now they’re talking about supplementary lessons and stuff. actually, yeah, I’m impressed Kiri is managing to juggle both the internship and his schoolwork. unlike the other interning students, he’s in the bottom 25% of the class. Ochako isn’t much better, but I’d bet her grades are more middling
apparently Sero was considering interning too (and he’d be great honestly), but he didn’t think he’d be able to handle it. I think he was ranked like 17th out of 20. I just posted that recap pretty recently
while everyone else sits there being excited about their internships, Deku is sitting there being moody af about his. and I can’t honestly blame him. All Might potentially dying, Nighteye believing Deku isn’t good enough and being determined to prove that Mirio is a better choice; and last but not least my poor sweet little jelly bean Eri whom I have not forgotten about and who is still in peril!! :|!
and Deku hasn’t forgotten about her either and says the thought of her is constantly present in his mind day in and day out
now it’s “several days later” and Kirishima and Deku are meeting up outside the dorms early in the morning and seem pleasantly surprised
Tumblr media
and the girls too! that’s nice
obviously this is the day of the big operation Nighteye was talking about that he had called in additional agencies to help with. and as we know, their agencies were coincidentally the ones he called
though it doesn’t seem like they’ve actually realized that yet lol
they’re remarking on how they’re all taking the same train even though Kiri’s agency is in Kansai. he says he was told the meeting place is somewhere different than usual
weird that Deku was told he didn’t need his costume though. were the others told the same?
(ETA: I keep forgetting there is a really easy way to verify this, which is just to look and see if they’re actually carrying the costume briefcases lol. and they are not)
also, are their senpais already at the agency? Mirio and the rest?
lmao
Tumblr media
how fucking slow are these kids
at this point if I were Deku I’d be half-suspecting some sort of weird surprise party lol
finally they’re turning the corner and there are Mirio, Hadou, and Amajiki
I wonder if Amajiki’s quirk is back yet??
OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
EVEN FUCKING AIZAWA IS THERE. and Gran too! AND IS THAT SOME SORT OF FUCKING COCKROACH MAN HOLY SHIT I JUST SUPPRESSED A SHUDDER
so Deku’s freaking out that two of his teachers are there, and he’s trying to figure out what’s going on
dude, you know what’s going on. even I remember, and it’s been more than a week since I read the chapter where Nighteye mentioned this whole thing
so now Nighteye has arrived and is calling the meeting to order
and the chapter is just ending there. lol. okay
 BONUS:
Tumblr media
I’m gonna be honest with you guys. I didn’t read this bonus page until literally the night before I posted this recap. it’s like that for all the bonus pages in this volume
and also, I’m not quite sure if this is the correct page for this chapter? but he is in the chapter, albeit just as a background character on that one page with Everybody
anyway. Centipeder. what can I say about him. he scares the living shit out of me. I’m so scared of centipedes. they’re so gross and they’re fucking sneaky and the few times I’ve seen them they were just chilling on the couch or even the bed without any warning omg. one time when I was in college there was a centipede hiding under the strap of my messenger bag and I didn’t notice until I’d already grabbed it and it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I would seriously take spiders over centipedes any fucking day
anyway. so here’s a centipede who’s six and a half feet tall. and they say he’s a hero and a gentlemen. sure. okay then. but I don’t trust him. pretty sure he is the U.A. traitor. even though he doesn’t actually work at U.A. he’s evil okay. just... I don’t want to look at him anymore lmao

Julie’s Love Yourself Concert Diary
Concert Date: September 29, 2018
Written: September 30, 2018
Warnings: I curse more than I should?
Words: 3,330ish-added a few  things at the last minute (phew!)
A/N:
[Update: Tumblr couldn’t upload all my photos that I spent awhile choosing and placing, so I’m going to have to pare it down. Sorry bbs! I opted to cut my personal & merch photos in favor of the boys]
So I have one thousand and one things I should be working on-for school, for work, for my eventual job hunt. But instead I am going to write about last night’s experience while it was still fresh in my mind. I was thinking of doing a song-by-song play-by-play, but you can look up the setlist on Wikipedia, so instead I am going to talk about the things that jumped out at me. WARNING: This is essentially one giant spoiler, so I will try to put a “Read More” cut, though it’s been being weird for me lately. So scroll carefully if you’re going to a later date and don’t want to know. All photos taken on my (now ancient) iPhone 6, so I tried to choose the best ones). Will edit as I see typos I made.
I’m a little nervous since I usually write fiction instead of sharing my personal experience. Anyway, full disclosure that this is just my perspective, and I’m (always) happy to discuss things (civilly) if you disagree with me.  <3  Photos and opinions are mine.- please don’t re-post anywhere else.
The Background/ Pulling a Namjoon and Leaving my Ticket at Home
Even though I was going to the Saturday show, I flew into LaGuardia using frequent flyer miles on Friday morning. I was staying with a friend in Queens, so I went straight to her apartment. I’m a grad student as most of you probably know at this point, so I spent most of Friday working on a paper that was due. I had two friends I met at last year’s concert going to the Friday concert, and they went for merch promptly at 9, but I had just arrived and had a deadline to meet for school.  Around 4:30PM, I decided that I was done for the day and opened Ticketmaster to print my ticket for the next day’s show. When I logged in, I saw the notice that the ticket had been mailed to me. I remembered having seen that when I bought the ticket in May, but in my defense I was jet-lagged and ill on that day. Furthermore, I moved to and from NYC in that time for a summer internship, and SO MUCH HAD HAPPENED. The tickets had been mailed while I was living here and I had never seen them, so somehow it slipped my mind. Obviously I lived too far away, but I didn’t know if I could express overnight them, but I think when I called Ticketmaster, the old ones were deactivated when the guy tried to send me the link.
Anyway, print at home was not an option, so I called Ticketmaster and in a panic explained my situation. They said it happened all the time and offered to send me a link. Luckily I kept the rep on the line, because it turned out that even they couldn’t email a link because of the anti-scalpers/fraud/whatever.
Then the rep said that I could show the credit card, but I had literally cut it up the week prior since the Vendor (e.g. the store that the card was through) had switched their card to a different bank (e.g. Visa to Mastercard), so I seemed shady af, even though I was telling the truth. He said as long as I had a login to a statement showing the transaction (I didn’t, since they had opted to close the account at an institutional level).  So I called my mom frantically, and luckily she is the hyper-organized type who keeps paper copies of everything and sent them to me. Seriously, Mom for the win!  I run to this print shop as it’s closing and print everything out.  I had the Ticketmaster receipt & order #, and two photo ID’s confirming my address. The guy said it should be fine, but I was on the verge of a mental breakdown. This was my one birthday gift and something I had been looking forward to for months. Anyway, my friend and I went out to a local bar near the Halsey (yes, the singer took her name from the station) stop on the L line, and I was super anti-social because I was so upset. I also burst a blood vessel in my eye  (it will heal, no worries) because of too much birthday partying the prior weekend, so I’m sure I was a (sour) sight to behold.
I slept poorly for obvious reasons, and left the apartment around 7AM, and arrived to Prudential center around 8:30ish. There were only a few people outside of will call, but the GA line was already wrapped around the building. I made small talk with people outside of the box office, and one woman told me she had gotten soundcheck both days. Seriously, what kind of karma do I need for that to happen to me? She and her friends had been camping out since Thursday, and they were SUPER organized: while she waited in line, one was at merch, and someone else was holding their GA site. I almost wondered if they were a fansite or something. ARMY are a truly organized bunch (except for me, clearly).
Anyway, after another half hour of pure anxiety, they opened up will call and I was panicking, but they were really helpful and gave me my ticket after I verified the order number, showed my id and confirmed some other personal data. I decided then and there that nothing else mattered and I was just happy to be there and be in.
Waiting in line/Logistics/Staff
I left the box office, and got into the GA line. It was probably around 9:15, and the line had already doubled-back on itself all the way around the building. The woman from earlier told me that her friend had got #1000 and was only 3 rows back, so I still had some hope. Basically, you line up to get your spot in line- though it’s kinda dumb that you have to line up twice, it makes security go faster and guarantees that there isn’t a huge surge/stronger people cutting  in line later.
I wore what I thought were my most comfortable shoes, but after standing on concrete for hours, I don’t think it makes a difference. People were so friendly though-  I never once felt awkward even though I was by myself. The same was true last year- the friends who had gone up for merch on Friday I met while in line at last years’ Wings concert. I chatted with people around me, drank the two bottles of water I had, and looked at my phone. Bring an umbrella for shade and sunscreen though-I didn’t and am rocking a nice farmers burn/tan today.  It wasn’t humid though, and it wasn’t raining, so it could have been so much worse.
Even though there were tons of people, everyone was well-behaved. I didn’t see any altercations, though as the day went on the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with crowd control.  I didn’t see too many people selling unofficial merch like last year, though I did buy a few necklaces (Joon and Chim, ofc).
After 3.5 hours, I finally got my wristband. They told us to be back by 2pm to line up for real, as they were going to try to open the doors at 3 instead of 3:30 (didn’t end up happening).
Merch
I then ran to merch, but there wasn’t much left. The fans/pickets were selling out as I got in line, and people were basically yelling “NOOOOOOOO” everytime the staff put up a “SOLD OUT” sticker. I bought what I could that was left, including a bracelet, which I’m actually in love with, the eco-tote (super overpriced tbh, $50 for a canvas bag), but the shopper bags were gone and I needed something to carry the box and batteries V3 ARMY Bomb I bought. I had one from last year that I also forgot, but I think the new version was cool because they are synced up with the music so you can change colors and patterns along with everyone else. Overall, it’s EXPEN$$$$IVE, but if anyone’s worth it, it’s Bangtan.
Newark
I was getting super tired after this, so I kinda passed on the photo studio table, big poster, and UNICEF stuff. I tried to go to Starbucks, but even though it was the middle of the day, I didn’t feel that safe, even though it was like 11:45 in the middle of the day. I’m a 27 year old who’s lived in Latin America (which is generally stereotyped for violence), solo traveled around the world, and I’m from the Rust Belt (aka home of true urban decay), but that part of Newark sketched me the heck out. Probably it would have been fine, but I opted for caution, and went to a Dunkin Donuts and empanada place right around the corner. The timing was actually good since we had to get back pretty quickly to line back up.
The second line was where the staff struggled, telling people to back up and get in order, but it seemed like staff were doing different things. Plus, if they wanted people to back up, they should have created room at the back first, before telling the front to basically “back that ass up” on the people behind them.
GA vs. Seated
I can say this- if you are short, you probably want a seat. Or if you have any kind of knee, back, or joint problems- I stood for approximately 14 straight hours on concrete yesterday. I am just under 5”5” but I was probably one of the taller people in the crowd, so I had a pretty good view. Even though they asked people to not take videos or record, you WILL be looking through a sea of cell phones. I could see pretty well, but sometimes when they were on the main stage I had a hard time seeing around other people’s arms.
Tumblr media
Last time I had P2 seated, and the view was wonderful. I went to the bathroom, charged my phone, and ate nachos (lol), so it was generally a more chill experience. I was still super close but up a little higher and could see absolutely everything. But last night I was SO close I could see Joon’s dimples irl, and got splashed by both Jungkook and J-Hope when they threw the water bottles.  Probably 100 people think this, but I’m also pretty sure Yoongi  (and maybeeee Jimin) saw me jumping and singing along like crazy since I was one of the taller people. At the very least, Yoongi keep looking in the general direction I was in. Ofc I looked gross af with my messed up eye and crazy hair, but what I loved about the concert is that I was 100% able to forget all the insecurities I carry around with me on a day to day basis and have an AMAZING time.
Of course the whole place is crazy high energy, but I feel like last night was INSANELY high. I’m not sure if it was the overall vibe or if that was the GA influencing my opinion.  It just depends on what kind of experience you want to have. Also, if you are claustrophobic, you should probably pass on GA. The guards kept forcing people to back up, at one point even coming in with a flashlight, and people would surge forward whenever a member came close. But someone said the night before was chill, so maybe it’s just luck of the draw.
The Show
The show was absolutely amazing. They opened with IDOL, which got people hyped from the get-go. Their dancing was ON POINT as always. People were chanting during the intro videos and chatting as it filled in, so it was a great vibe once again- just super happy feeling. The audio visual part was AMAZING, though I’m no pro, and I loved all of the concert outfits, especially Jimin’s super sparkly sweater. Lots of jumping, and lots of screams. I didn’t have earplugs and was fine, but if you’re sensitive to loud sounds I definitely recommend them. ISTG I remembered hearing a mashup of FIRE, but maybe not? Wikipedia seems to think not. But they played a few older ones too, which made me so soft and nostalgic.

More on the members during the concert
Kim Namjoon
Ok, this is so so so biased, let me start with that. If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you know how much I love this man. Seeing him smiling and happy was amazing. And they had a professional translator for this concert, so I felt like Joon was able to relax a little and enjoy himself instead of worrying about translating for everyone else.  He is just as tall and proportional as everyone says he is.  Everyone talks about how soft he is these days (and I love it), but he has undeniable charisma when he raps. Plus him in sunglasses, ddaeng. Seeing him so close was akin to something spiritual for me (I SAW THE DIMPLES WITH MY OWN EYES), as were people shouting along with him to “Love.” At the end, he commented how we were all sharing the same air, and hearing him think the way (I know at least some of ) us think was so heartwarming.
Tumblr media
Also during some of the videos, there were some NOT AT ALL subtle Minjoon moments.
Kim Seokjin
The crowd last night ADORED Jin and gave him all the attention he deserves to have all the time. People were chanting his name SO LOUDLY during instrumental breaks in Epiphany. His voice was phenomenal, particularly the high notes. it’s clear how hard he’s worked to make it sound so effortless.  I noticed that people weren’t moving as much during some of his notes and I can only think it’s because we were literally transfixed. It’s well established, but I don’t think this man has any bad angles. Even in the still pictures I took while dancing, he DOESN’T look awkward in any of them. #impossible.

Min Yoongi
Suga was clearly happy about something last night- he was SO cute and happy. Other ARMY on the train back to the city agreed with me. His rapping was fire (duh), but he was really smiley and took out his earpiece a number of times to hear us screaming. “Seesaw” starts with him laying on a couch and I can think of no better way to capture his true soul (lol). He was extra attentive to fans, and  I feel like what Tae mentioned in Burn the Stage, he was trying to memorize ARMY’s faces and live in the moment. I felt bad because there were clearly parts where he wanted us to sing along, but we couldn’t necessarily keep up with his tongue technology :P  But people definitely tried their best.

Jung Hoseok
Idk what I can say here that’s new. J-Hope is one of the most charismatic members on the stage. And there’s something in the American air that turns him into Jay Hope. Seriously, he’s hard to move your eyes away from. “Just Dance” was the first solo track if I remember correctly and he did not disappoint. His glasses at the end were adorable, and one of the other members called him a “happy grandfather” or something like that.  Seriously, if you’re still sleeping on Hobi, we can’t be friends.

Park Jimin
Jimin was ethereal as always, and the choreography for Serendipity was…..salacious, to say the least. Like if you thought the “Take Me Down” cover from last year’s Festa was too much, then idk what to tell you. Bring holy water or something. Despite  the free water that fans were providing to others (ARMY are seriously the best) there was a different kind of thirst occurring, if you smell what I’m stepping in. Jimin is pure charisma, like J-Hope. Obviously their styles are totally different, but when they move, you stop whatever you’re doing and watch. Again, I didn’t even see many ARMY bombs moving during Serendipity- I think we were too entranced. I personally thought that he killed his vocals and did great, but he seemed a little tired or like he was working hard at it. Jimin was also the one (at least that I saw from my angle) that got the closest to the fans, crouching down and leaning over the teleprompters/fans/lights/ whatever the black boxes were at the edge of the stage.
Tumblr media
Similar to Tae and Yoongi, I saw him looking at fans A LOT during the show. He was exactly how he seems in V Lives and cameras, and I’m fairly certain I would spontaneously combust if I ever ran into him irl (even if I didn’t know who he was)- he just radiates warmth and friendliness. Seriously, if I believed in magic, I feel like he would be able to influence people’s emotions.
Kim Taehyung
So many fic writers have this ultra primal (for lack of a better word?) for Tae, but all I see is a cute sweetheart. Obviously I’ve never seen someone create as much tension with their own arm as he does during Singularity, but when he’s not dancing, I just got a super innocent, cutesy vibe from him. His voice was so smooth last night. I mean, I knew, but now I KNOW.  He actually was shooting hearts at one fan (how lucky they are), and pretended to fall down when they shot him back! They were further back in P2 as well so he really does work hard at paying attention to everyone. He actually called over another member (maybe Yoongi or Jimin? I was too busy trying to remember how to breathe, to see whatever he was seeing).
Tumblr media
At the end he whipped a heart out of his beanie (how I pray to god someone got that moment on camera) a la Jin. He just seemed really comfortable in his own skin last night, and I was so grateful for it.
Jeon Jungkook
I had a hard time seeing most of his Euphoria performance as it was relatively early on and people were taking a shit ton of videos. He also stayed mostly on the main stage, rather than come out to the extension area near where I was. His abs are just as great in person, and the screams were (as is to be expected), absolutely deafening. They’ve talked about it in shows, but his voice is  SO stable. Obviously they stopped at times and don’t use too much backing vocals, but it sounded EXACTLY how it does on the album. He threw something into the crowd  (I think a banner) at the end, and it FLEW so far-back to P2 or further. They’re not kidding when they talk about how strong he is.

Final thoughts
At first, I was a little exhausted after my emotional trauma of the prior day, and from standing for so long but the minute it started I forgot everything else. I was salty when I couldn’t see that much bc of people recording (esp when they asked us not to), but I understand the specialness of the moment and wanting to have some tangible evidence that you were there. By the time the concert was over, I realized how special GA was, even if it’s more difficult logistically (since I went solo and didn’t have parents or friends to stand in). I still don’t know if it’s hit me that I was like 10 feet away from them, max. It reaffirmed how important they are to me. I didn’t write this to brag, but to hopefully share my perspective and let others live vicariously through my experience. If you want clarification or anything else, write to me!
