#admittedly i was kinda putting off 3x16 bc i knew it was owen-centric and owen is far from my favorite character#i wasn't sure the writers would handle it well but i def underestimated them bc..... wow#i feel like owen's hero complex gets criticized a ton and it can get annoying admittedly but it does make so much sense#like this is really good writing#from an in-universe standpoint this entire thing of trying to be the hero isn't really about the attention or the praise for owen#it's about helping someone saving someone bc he's carried the guilt of not being able to do that for his brother up until this point#and then it was compounded by 9/11#so from the audience standpoint i get/agree w all the critiques about how frustrating it is that owen always swoops in and saves this#but that's actually really good writing#very in line w his character and the traumas he's endured#and given this ep is at the end of the season and it's now that his father eased some of that guilt#i am hoping next season has less of that#also the judd/wyatt stuff choked me up god judd ryder the man that you are......#i just love this show i love this writing i am very glad to have been pleasantly surprised
