Quick resume: I headcanon Shingyoku/Touhou HRtP as a kami with shapeshifting as one of their main abilities. On top of the 3 seen in game forms, I give them 6 others, including a "true/complete" form, the one just above.

This is not a "fusion" form. The miko/priest forms are more a half of this true form.

I want to exploit the whole yin yang theme with them. The miko and priest forms are each one side of the yin yang. My headcanon "weak" form* is an interstice, the true form is the balance.

This is how I imagine them to actually be like. They would assume the miko/priest forms to hide the beast traits as much as possible and fit in easily in human society. They would pretend to be an apprentice shrine officiant. I have a whole doc (too long for Tumblr) explaining the whole backstory I have for them.

So their inspos are both the yin yang in general, as well as the kuzuryu/9 headed dragon. Out of the 9 total forms, 6 are humanoid, there is the yin yang orb which in my take is more a giant star (cant render easily the 2d design of a yin yang in 3d), and 2 are dragon forms, one with 9 heads.
