Steps To Find a Perfect Blazer to Suit Your Body Type

Blazers are one of the favourite pieces to wear among most of the women because they translate across all occasions and seasons. You can wear them all year round, and they will always look stylish. 

So we are here to share some tips on how to find the best blazer for your body because, at the end of the day, the fit of the blazer makes all the difference. We hope this post clears up any confusion about the different blazer styles and inspires all of you to join the blazer craze.

 1. Mind your bust size

When the bust of a blazer doesn’t fit well, it’s one of the more obvious things you will notice because it won’t look good.

 So if you have larger breasts, go for either an open front blazer or one that has a deep neckline and nips in at the waist. Open-front blazers are the most versatile, as they suit most of the body types. They’re especially nice for women with bigger busts because of the way the lapels naturally fall over your curves without squeezing you. Avoid thick fabrics, overly structured shoulders, and adding bulk on top.

 For those with a smaller bust, big lapels balance out really nicely. While double-breasted Kimono blazers can look bulky on lots of women, it looks great on smaller petite frames. Just don’t go extremes on the oversized look because your figure can easily get lost in it.

 2. Don’t overlook the shoulders

This is a very important fit to get right. You definitely won’t like wearing blazers that that puff out too much or are too tight in the shoulders.

 For broader shoulders, go for blazers that are less structured in the shoulders, or one without a collar. If you have narrower shoulders, but larger hips, try a more structured piece or even shoulder pads that will complement your body.

 3. Play on your hips

If you have curvy hips, look for blazers that are more structured up top, gather at the waist and fan out a bit towards the bottom. The structure at the top in the shoulders will complement your hip width and create an hourglass body shape.

 If you have an hourglass figure with curves and a small waist, enhance that feature with a fitted blazer that buttons at your midsection.

 4. Length should be perfect

A general rule of thumb is: If you are tall, don’t wear a blazer that is too short, and if you are short, avoid blazers that are too long. Shorter people actually look good in Peplum blazer and high-waisted pants, because it makes their legs look longer. Tall people definitely have a lot more choices in terms of length, however, a short blazer might make your body seem a bit out of proportion.
