I drop the match.” ✶ Mini review time: Between the cover and the promise of an unreliable narrator, I was 10000% here for this book. Sadly I was disappointed. ✶ I couldn’t settle into the writing or get captivated by the story. The characters were a bit too odd and the story lacked the tension and mystery I was expecting. I really liked the premise, but the execution didn’t work for me. ✶ Huge thanks to Delacorte Press for sending me a finished copy. Today on the blog was my final Debut Author Bash Review! 🎄 The Truth Beneath The Lies by Amanda Searcy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall I did really like this story. I didn't love it because I was able to figure out something very early on, but even with that figured out I still had so many questions that got answered slowly throughout the book. I wasn't expecting it to get that dark though during the last 100 pages, but I'm also glad it did because if it hadn't we wouldn't have been able to feel the real fear that they had and how serious this all was. So many things happen that I was not expecting and just wow. You just have to read it to believe it, because if not it won't make sense fully because of how twisty this story is and how good at lying certain people are. . .
