HI HI!! I don't know if you've answered this already but what was Enid's evolution of her hairstyles ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐ฅบ
ahhh ty for the question ๐ค
to start- it's important to define how enid's hair normally sits:
post-wash, enid's curls can range anywhere from 2A-2C (depending on how she maintains its shape). this process took some time for her to master, esp. since she did not always have curly hair to begin with. for much of her early childhood, enid had straight hair. then, for whatever reason (genetics)- her hair texture changed. and she was not prepared for that sort of change- thus began enid's long standing relationship between her and her flat iron.
enid during her undergrad days at brooklyn college; picrew
one thing that did stay consistent for much of enid's life was how long her hair was. this was largely due to her parents, who refused to let her cut it past a certain point. at its longest, enid's hair extended down to her lower back. but it was damaged. breakage. split ends. her hair was fried.
enid during her 1L year at columbia; meiko
the big chop happened just before enid's first day at columbia. she knew she wouldn't be able to keep up with straightening it anymore- and honestly it was another f*ck you to her parents' wishes (along with the tattoo but they didn't know about that yet). cutting off all the dead ends- in more ways than one.
enid today; art cred: @oh-so-youre-a-nerd
eventually, enid's hair grew out. having more autonomy allowed her to try new styles- layers, a buzz cut, an impulse decision to try out bangs. what she's sporting now is a wolf cut- which she got after a hair stylist said it would suit her face.
