TBT from 19 years ago. This is the very first picture of me on US soil taken in Rockefeller Center. THE FIRST ONE EVER!!! I was so amazed to see how beautiful, tall, cold, and shiny New York City was around Christmas time, my favorite season. I had just arrived in NYC the previous night of December 15th with my green card in hand, and I was up and running around the city the next morning of Dec. 16th, 1997. It was my first taste of Winter. This is really meaningful to me given the fact that I just became a US citizen last Monday. It's a milestone in my life. Look how tanned and skinny I was. I've come a long way. From a thin teenager who didn't speak one word of English and had no clue what the future had in store for me to a law abiding citizen and a person of moral character, to a man in love with my beloved city and adoptive country. I'm humble and forever thankful for the love, education, knowledge, friendships, travels, strength, growth, and beautiful memories I've experienced in the USA all these years. This beautiful nation saw me being reborn into the person I am today, and for that I'm eternally thankful.
