STEPPING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE This is not my normal pose, but it felt so good to push myself to do something I normally wouldn’t (I know it’s not a big thing, but you know, baby steps) So maybe just posing for a photograph in a different way isn’t going to change the world, (ok, not maybe, definitely), but I can be so awkward in front of the camera that for me, this is how someone else, maybe someone younger, cooler, less self-conscious would pose Certainly not someone like me, who clams up whenever I need to pose for someone (give me a selfie in the privacy of my home any day). I don’t know what it is that holds me back. I really can’t put words to it. Is it the fear of being laughed at? Is it that I feel I’ll get it wrong? Whatever ‘wrong’ is? Is it a case of ‘imposter syndrome’? Whatever it is, I decided 2020 is the year to bite the bullet and go for it - whatever it is. So many times I’ve skirted the issue when a photographer has suggested do a shoot together, literally to the point of ghosting messages - yes, I’ve been that person But this is the year I’m changing all that. So when @frescoclicks suggested a shoot, I went for it with open arms, and guess what? I loved it. Granted, it took a while for me to warm up and not feel too nervous, but after a while, I kinda eased into it. (I think you can probably see the nerves in this pic, but I’m posting it anyway, as a reminder to myself - you know that cliche… Feel the fear and do it anyway. WHAT ‘COMFORT ZONE’ CHALLENGES HAVE YOU SET FOR YOURSELF?
