Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting the owners of an ancient flour mill in the Abruzzo region of Italy called ‘Antico Mulino of Luigi Giovannantonio’ @mulinodigiovannantonio The ancient flour mill has been in existence for over two centuries and it is one of the last rare and original mills still preserved today, a symbol of artisan traditions that are still handed down from one generation to the next with passion and diligence. The mills are fed by water from streams and the water power gears stones to grind grains and create stone ground flour, allowing the best conservation of all the properties of the finished product. After the owners shared their story and gave us a tour of their beautiful grounds, we headed to the flour room to purchase these amazing ancient flours to make some of our family traditional recipes.
