my lizard is funny stupid because Im so used to bearded dragons being extremely relaxed animals but now I have a young man with anxiety (even though I’ve been handling him gently his whole life, like normal) and if I’m not careful when handling him he WILL enter prey mode and get the mindset of “you are a predator and you are trying to catch me, I must RUN”

#bearded dragons are the kind of animal where you have to handle them gently and repeatedly to earn their trust #but like I've had him since he was 3 months old and he's just always been Anxious #when I adopted him he was the only one sitting in the corner of the tank being dark and scared while the other babies were sunning happily #he's always just been anxious at the smallest things like when he was a baby he would #turn black if he so much as heard my mom talking in the other room #and I've tried asking bearded dragon communities about how to make his home as comfortable and least stressful as possible #I genuinely think he just has Problems Disorder and needs to be treated patiently lol
