Like the only thing I care about now in my science disaster movies is if the scientists are properly portrayed. Honestly, any aspiring screenwriters: please just hang out with a group of scientists for like a week. See that they’re not all cold, aloof weirdos who talk only in esoteric technical jargon to confuse the laypeople in the room and show how smart they are.

They’re just people who have a diverse range of personalities and backgrounds and interests. You know … like literally everyone else on the planet.

#legit that was my only gripe with Twisters was the fact that the science team was like filled with the stuck up smarty pants #granted … Glen Powell’s character (Tyler????) reaching out to Kate and being like ‘hey … let’s use this computer model I have access to’#and also Javi (albeit reluctantly) handing the data to Kate and Tyler for their model #is like … how science works???? it’s collaborative #and I like how they showed that yeah … you get experts who work together to solve a problem #sure you get the people who are super protective of their research and stuff #and of course the like ‘I will get this patented so only I can profit from it’ assholes #but a lot of us are just like ‘let me show you this cool thing I found!’
