Literally who cares what notes the original artist put in the song I'm just gonna play whatever combo of background and melody I can figure out by ear and call it a day
#this is about guitar but also piano. Am I playing 'Knee Deep at ATP' in key??? Probably not! But I'm playing *something* (0 u 0)#Sure can play the melody of 'Welcome to the Black Parade' on piano too. I think I atleast started with the right note when I did that but I#wasn't actually checking a reference then like I'm attempting too now... Honestly most shit that I play is probably wrong and when it's by#ear it's more 'from memory' but it's fiiiiiine. I miss having access to a piano but I'm attempting to fix my guitar rn even if it's I#usually only play ukulele if anything cuz this guitar is really hard to hold and also one of the tuning pegs is broken. I'm back in that#'oh I could totally write music despite previous evidence strongly to the contrary' vibe.
