wait i just realised that genuinely there are only two games where you don’t play someone originally from a vault
#and that’s fo2 and new vegas#fo1 obviously has the vault dweller and that’s interesting because it sets up the fish out of water thing that the player is experiencing#with a new world/IP/story . the character equally doesn’t know anything about the wasteland#and like i guess you can make that argument with fo3 because of the soft reboot for the series#but also there are so many moments where it feels like they took what was cool about the original games#and didn’t bother to interrogate that further or take the underlying concept and make something fresh#i’ll find a new place to be from — 𝙤𝙤𝙘.#i did say in my rules that there would be criticism on this blog lol
