I have so many unpopular opinions about that show that most people would murder me for so I hope it's okay to confess to you?! 1) Rory and Logan had the happiest, most compatible romantic relationship of all of Rory and Lorelai's romances, and it isn't even close :) Granted, ASP was allergic to writing healthy romances, but Rory and Logan had by far the most joy, the best communication, and they complemented and challenged each other while still having enough in common to be completely compatible. 2) You can tell by #1 what's coming here: Luke and Lorelai actually had an awful relationship? First of all, his temper and attitude are the worst, and I hate how fans excuse how terrible he can be. Yelling and freaking out on a sweet old woman about to enter a nursing home? Putting his hands on Dean, a teenager at a time? Literally getting arrested because he can't directly speak to his then-wife? The way he goes from "all in" to "all out" on Lorelai and gives her the silent treatment rather than letting her explain something that very clearly isn't even her fault?! Deliberately concealing the existence of his long lost child for months, which would have been longer if she hadn't found out on her own? (I don't know one woman who would have stayed with him after that!) The constant jealousy and bitterness and relentless negativity and refusal to speak about anything? I mean, Lorelai is not good in relationships either and I actually think she should have ended up happily single, but Luke is even worse in my very unpopular opinion. And together...what a disaster! They literally can't talk about anything ever, even missing their chance to have the kids they both secretly wanted because they couldn't have an actual conversation! They have nothing in common and instead of complementing each other they just don't get each other and constantly seem to annoy each other. Even their chemistry was totally off once they got together. They just don't make each other happy. I could go on even longer but will spare you! TL;DR - Luke and Lorelai are terrible together in every way and I honestly have trouble getting why they're such a popular ship :) 3) I still love Rory and always will. She has a lot of serious flaws that the show didn't always acknowledge and address the way they should have, but I understand her, I relate to her, I root for her...and not despite her flaws but because of them. 4) I know most fans hate S7, but I like it a lot. I'd much rather watch most S7 episodes than most of S6 or the revival. Is it partly because of the S7 Rogan? Yup, you bet :) 5) Rogan cheating during the revival is gross and I hated it, but (here's the unpopular part!) the revival also reinforced the fact that they're each other's soulmate to me. They're still each other's person, even after all these years. And they're so perfect together not just when it comes to supposedly superficial fun but when they're upset, at their lowest etc. 6) Most Rogan fans love the Life and Death Brigade and Logan's friends, but I really hate Colin. So much. 7) I have an irrational dislike of Max :) He just seemed so smarmy to me and I didn't get Lorelai/Max at all--I just never bought their connection or supposed "love." Honestly, Lorelai worked best with Jason...(whispers) and Christopher. THANK YOU for listening!

1) 100% agree and I feel like this puts its perfectly like they just had the best combination of compatibility, happiness, communication skills, willingness to work at their relationship etc

2) ooh that is an unpopular opinion!! I partially agree, I do love them and think their slow burn was so good but also they were pretty anticlimactic as an actual couple. they literally had the worst communication skills imaginable 😭😭 which was a disappointing thing about ayitl because it could've been a chance to show some growth but instead they were still just as bad. (and this comes back to the 1st point, because rory and logan did seem to grow together whereas lorelai and luke didn't really). I definitely liked luke best in his softer moments, like when he's being a father figure for rory, supporting lorelai as a friend etc

3) also 100% agree, I love her and her flaws 💕

4) agree!!! s6 is my least favourite (other than ayitl) because it's just too much conflict imo. I liked how they developed logan in s7 and actually thought it was worthwhile having the lorelai and chris relationship (as much as I wish they hadn't got married without rory) because that finally gave them some closure. also I'll take weaker writing + a mostly happy ending over the depressing intended ending any day!!

5) also agree!! obviously the cheating sucks (and makes no sense since the main show established that logan would choose rory over his family any day) but they literally are the loves of each other's lives. obviously he's like a fun escape for her but they also have the domesticity, talking about their problems together, supporting each other. there is absolutely no way I could be convinced (even with the whole "dynastic plan" thing) that they wouldn't want to raise their baby together.

6) haha I like colin! I'm not like emotionally attached but I found him entertaining

7) I really liked lorelai and max! I never felt like he was the one or that she was particularly in love with him but I did enjoy watching them together. I feel fairly similarly about jason, they were entertaining but I didn't really root for them. as for christopher, I definitely don't hate them the way a lot of people do. they did have good chemistry and I liked watching their story, even though I do think they weren't compatible long term (and he basically broke her heart one too many times).
