keep seeing "taylor hates matty just like us!!" like.. she hates him because he broke her heart I hate him because he is a legitimately garbage person we are not the same

I feel, ungrateful and neurotic but I want a definitive edition of both TTPD (the Anthology) and Midnights (3am) with the 'bonus tracks', on a multiple disks if that's what it takes (plus whatever vault bombs she wants to add too). Most of the time I just bond with the "bonus tracks" side harder. I'm sorry. It's like she's rejecting my money when she doesn't do it. Aaron Dessner deserves better.

I don't want any more vault songs I can't have her keep adding to these albums shdjfnskmd but I agree!! a midnights 3am (or til dawn if she insists on that being the main version now) vinyl/cd and a ttpd anthology vinyl/cd! obviously it's a lot of disks but she did it with red tv so it is doable and it's a better use of resources and fans' money than basically pointless variants

I feel sorry for people who paid for all the ‘limited’ edition variants.. especially multiple shipments

yeah it kinda sucks that they obviously weren't exclusive tracks or even complete albums. at this point I simply don't trust any of her claims about limited editions and just wait until later to buy lol which goes against the whole purpose of them for her but 🤷‍♀️ and I'm still waiting because for all I know we've still got an anthology edition to come and there's no way I'm paying £40 for an album more than once

second half thoughts!!

I definitely prefer this half (unsurprising since I am a slow acoustic song girlie to the core)

I feel like this half we get more of a sense of taylor herself as the tortured poet as opposed to some guy, which I prefer

initial favourites are probably the black dog, chloe or sam or sophia or marcus, how did it end and the manuscript

overall album thoughts is that it's good and I like it, although not necessarily a major favourite at this stage. kinda feels excessively long to me and like it would maybe benefit from being trimmed down/tightened a bit or just separated into two more succinct albums

ok main album listen done!! initial thoughts

I like it but I'm not like immediately blown away by it (similarly to my midnights first impressions)

my favourites (or at least the initial standouts to me) are so long london, florida, who's afraid of little old me and loml

I can see why people were saying it feels samey but to me it's more in the vocal delivery?? idk the technical stuff but it feels like she's delivering pretty much every song in the same way?

I picked out I can do with a broken heart as my predicted favourite based on titles alone and turns out I was way off it's probably my least fave lol

I feel like once again the album aesthetic and promo vibes (the department, the chairman, themes of examining evidence etc) don't particularly reflect the content

also I have to say the "I don't care what anyone says!! I love him!!!" theme worked better in her earlier work (love story, ours) when it was more just a girl loving very strongly against the advice of her parents than like a woman ignoring the #haters

Man I fucking hate the Jack hate that accompanies album releases now. Calling him mid and a bad producer is just wrong when you look at his body of work and the variety he brings. The artists decide their sound and Taylor is someone I can see being quite headstrong and particular with how she wants something to come through. Are they stunted together? Maybe/likely but to call Jack untalented is just stupid

I knoooow like you can say the music he does with taylor isn't your favourite or that you'd like her to also work with new collaborators but every album fans act like jack is forcing taylor into a recording booth and saying "this song WILL sound exactly how I want". I'm sure she could experiment more but ultimately the reason she's working with him is because he is very good at helping to make the type of pop music she likes to create 🤷‍♀️
