I forgot to ask in my reblog!! Oof, my heart dropped when Peter told her to go back to her room after what they just did and I couldn't help but feel like Honey would just feel... used? In a sense. Like, you share a moment like that and then he just dismisses you. Maybe I have a not so great grasp of her characterization, but that's what a person who's having trouble loving herself would be inclined to think. Maybe not. Maybe their earlier convo about Peter being willing to do anything for her would be enough to provide some reassurance. But wow, if that wasn't cold. Despite how it tore him to do it, he still just dismissed her without too much care. Urgent situations and all that, but damn, I know I wouldn't feel great. I think I'm just projecting lol. Sorry for hounding you, I am still having thots and thoughts about this story.

how awful would it be to seduce someone you're betraying, while also navigating complex feelings about said person that you're afraid to come to terms with, WHILE ALSO sharing pretty much the first real sex act with said person, AND THEN immediately be told "hey, you gotta go" and has to do the walk of shame back to her room?

(which keep in mind, she doesn't even sleep in unless Peter says so). I definitely started to see some similarities between Rex and Honey (and Gwen, who is now a blessed memory he keeps hidden in a box).

It was 100% meant to be patronizing and heartbreaking and jarring. I would feel awful and dirty and I'm sure Honey feels the same!

But with these two, I notice a pattern emerging. Whenever Peter hurts Honey, he hurts himself even more. His immediate reaction after photos was "oh my god I'm a monster, i pretty much forced this to happen" and maybe it's easier for him if she hates him? Peter sees himself as a monster, and perhaps he's at the point where he wants her to do the same.
