I feel like the pink is too light, it kind of just looks like my skin.
I am really loving these caps though, I ordered 4 more in a variety of colours including this light pink one.

A lot of times when there are Muslim characters in film or books, there's a tradeoff and I had never connected with the characters as much as I wanted to. If they're "liberal", they're usually not really too religious and most of the time don't wear hijabs. If they're religious, they're conservative. There are actual Muslims that fit those descriptions, and that's their choice, but I'm talking about media representation. The media doing that is intentional, they're trying to imply that you can't be both "liberal" and religious, and honestly it's not even just with Muslims. But the hijabis in skam and their remakes, at least from the series I've seen so far, ARE both liberal and religious. And they defend both aspects, they're really well executed and it means so much to me to get such amazing representation I can finally relate to instead of having to accept half-assed characters put in for diversity points.
Throughout the whole show, she defends Islam and its practices. Multiple people, including her friends, questioned it, but eventually they all come to accept it and even try to learn parts of Arab and Islamic culture. Now they defend her if people attack her or Islamic culture.
This season focuses on Amira and the whole time I was scared that some integral part of her would be compromised, but they really have outdone themselves. I was scared that she would give up religion to be with the person she fell for, but she stood her ground. She didn't compromise her beliefs and instead her love interest chose to accept to work with her on his religious beliefs again. The show could've easily gotten away with her compromising her religion for love, but they chose to have Amira stick with Islam and they chose to have Islam be a dealbreaker for her. And her struggle with the Muslim community was also well written. She knows she's a faithful Muslim and finally understands she doesn't have to prove it to everyone who questions her. She defends her friends against them and knows that they accept her and respect her beliefs and knows she won't compromise her beliefs for them and they won't ever her make her compromise them either.
They let her be a smart, visibly athletic, cool and badass character but still stick with Islam and be a cool and accepting person. She never compromises herself or her beliefs for anyone. Her friends all love and respect her. As an Arab hijabi living in a western country myself, I think she's one of the best representations I've ever seen and she really means a lot to me. I hope in the future more Muslim characters are modeled after her, because although this is an amazing show, it has adult content and I think this level of quality representation should be available to more ages.
