thinking about it's possible connection to the story of Pygmalion and Galatea.

#miraculous ladybug#greek mythology#a longing for something or someone that is viewed as unattainable or unable to return affections#her talking to both Luka and Chat Noir about how she's not sure if she really loves him or just the idea of him she's built in her head#actually very mature observations and thoughts for someone her age#most teenagers wouldn't contemplate that#they'd jump head first into it and possibly become disappointed when reality doesn't live up to expectations#also thinking about how My Fair Lady is a retelling of the tale of Pygmalion#and how the original author of the play didn't want Professor Higgins and Eliza to end up together#because the imbalance of power between them was too much#Professor Higgins (Pygmalion) is in a way Eliza's (Galatea's) creator#Adrien and Marinette are on an equal power playing field in my opinion#the problem would be that Marinette doesn't believe that they are equal#She views him as above her#as better than her#that's why she believes she's not good enough for him#and its that belief that brings the imbalance#idk........#thoughts?
