Keeping your appearance consistent throughout the winter may be challenging. It can be difficult to strike the right balance between wearing comfortable winter clothing and keeping your toes toasty.
In the winter, staying warm is undoubtedly something you think about more than fashion. As a result, it's critical to get the fundamentals right. In the chilly winter months, layering clothing is a fantastic method to stay warm and cozy. When worn suitably with casual winter ensembles, it improves your look, but it doesn't mean covering up like a ball of clothes, there is a method, and I would love to take you through it! Maintain your look, so that it is both stylish and practical.
With these warm, casual winter wardrobe ideas, you can conquer any obstacle. Whatever style you choose, don't forget to accessorize with the perfect piece of winter attire: a warm and luxurious scarf!
Pullover Sweater Outfit- I'm sure I don't need to mention how easy it is to make some warm and fashionable outfits based on a basic sweater for those who already appreciate wearing them. Numerous outfits can be worn with a pullover, such as jeans, a skirt, a cardigan, a blazer, or even simply a belt. The sweater outfit will make you look elegant and remarkable no matter which option you go with.
Just Hoodies- A hoodie is easy to wear around the house, and with the right accessories, you can even incorporate it into a beautiful, laid-back weekend outfit. Wearing a single color or many tones of the same color effectively gives off the impression of richness.

Long Knitted Cardigan- If the colors are complementary, long cardigans can be worn with practically any outfit. You may pair it with any casual winter clothing in your collection if it is a neutral hue. Almost any pair of jeans look terrific with a long, black cardigan. The sets of leggings and long cardigans are really versatile. Simply switching out the shoes will produce a different outcome.

Snuggle in a Wool Scarf- Your casual winter suit will look great when it is finished off with a long woolen scarf. A traditional winter accessory is a long scarf. The additional material keeps you warm and adds to the chic layering appearance. Additionally, it can be knotted in several ways, giving you a variety of appearances with just one piece. All you need on a chilly winter day is a long woollen scarf and a plush wool sweater.
Casual Winter Accessories- Any season, accessories may spruce up your outfits. However, they are essential for keeping you warm and fashionable during the winter. Just a few examples of protective clothing that can also serve as a stylish accessory include scarves, beanies, socks, and gloves.

Parka Jacket with Leggings- I am pretty sure every woman owns at least 1 parka jacket, they are just sooo easygoing!! Due to their plush texture, parka jackets never go out of style, regardless of the season (winter or fall). You may dress it down or keep toasty by adding fur trims, a matching hood, or a beanie. Excellent options are shades of green, brown, and nude. Wear it with a basic t-shirt and sneakers or ankle boots. Anyone who is unsure of what to wear in the fall and winter can easily find a ready-made solution in this basic knit item. You can wear a baggy blazer over a fitted turtleneck underneath and straight-leg jeans to complete the look.
Puffer Jacket with Sweat-pants and Sneakers- For a casual look, layer your sweatsuit with a puffer jacket to be warm and comfortable while doing errands. Additionally, it makes a great holiday outfit when worn with sneakers. It is a functional garment that you can easily take off or add to depending on whether you are feeling too warm.   ↓ 25. What to Wear to a Church Banquet
If you have been invited to a church banquet, you might wonder what is the perfect outfit to wear. Well, there are certain limitations to dressing up for the church, like not overdoing your makeup and keeping the hem of your dress to a decent length and even wearing long sleeves and smaller necklines in certain cases to show you respect their beliefs. You can be very elegant without being flashy by showing off your midriff or wearing overly fitted dresses. For more ideas, here are 27 Modest Ideas On What to Wear to Church.

↓ 24. Sports Banquet Outfit
What you choose to wear at your sports banquet depends upon the dress code expected at the ceremony. If it is a school-related function and you don’t have to wear your uniform, go for something that is casual but fancy. You can wear leggings along with a beautiful floral print dress, or simple black slacks with a lace blouse. You can wear lace cardigan with your dress for a more formal look.
Via
↓ 23. Summer Banquet Attire
Summertime banquets are extremely fun to attend and you can totally show off skin and flaunt gorgeous summer dresses. Go with your own unique version of a little black dress, whether you go with a scalloped V-neck skater dress or a black mini jumpsuit. You can also go with soft colours and the prints for the daytime event.
Via
↓ 22. Lace Outfit
Lace outfits are perfect for banquets because the fabric is easy to carry and lace dresses can look stunning too. You can choose to go with various options in terms of garments and colours with lace but usually white and black are the ones most preferred for banquets. White lace dress exudes feminity and softness while a black lace dress is the epitome of sexiness and bold outlook.

If you are attending a fall banquet, you need to dress accordingly and there are a million different possibilities. We already know that early fall season is all about the bright colours ranging from orange to various shades of red. Pair up a burgundy scoop neck blouse with lace sleeves with black micro print pants for a smart look. Pair accessories with the outfit wisely to give you a more fancy touch.
↓ 20. Monochromatic Look
If you think the monochromatic look is too boring or old school for you, you have another thing coming. It is understated how a simple one colour scheme outfit can make you stand out in the crowd. Get your hands on fitted high-waisted pants which are the trendiest piece on the market and pair them up with a sheer lace blouse with a floral inner. Wear big silver loopy earrings and white minimalist heels for a refined appearance.

↓ 19. Power Suit for Banquet

↓ 18. Plus Size Banquet Outfit
It is a banquet and it is fine to flaunt your awesome body. Get yourself a dress with some great leg action and subtle feminine colours and select a cut that flares from above your belly button to give you the perfect silhouette. Soft pink colour looks amazing on all skin tones and you can easily dress it up with the right accessories. Go for a spectacular necklace and pearl earrings. Go for bold heels to give you an edgy look and the perfect height.
Via
↓ 17. Victorian Inspired Outfit
It is time to go for some Victorian inspired outfit with pretty ruffle detailing and antique print. Go for the off-shoulder style dress to show that pretty neckline and you can even accentuate it with a sophisticated necklace. Go for nude shoes and a straw basket style purse to complete the look.
↓ 16. Chic Outfit
Sometimes you can turn things around and go for a plain black top and dress it up with the right skirt. Bright coloured pearl embellished skirts are perfect for banquets and go for the high-waisted style to give you the appearance of long legs and narrow waist. You can style this outfit with thigh-high boots or black heels depending on the venue of the event.
Via
↓ 15. Dapper Jumpsuit
You can’t deny the fact that jumpsuits are extremely trendy and have been widely popular. The best thing about a jumpsuit is that it can be worn in any season and for any event without much ado. Try on a fancy jumpsuit with special print, glitter or sequins and some fancy detailing like ruffles or cold shoulders. Don’t wear loose-fitting jumpsuits with wide pants and instead go for body-hugging ones. Wear a stylish hat and black heels to complement the look. Here are 16 Cute Jumpsuits Outfits & Ideas On How to Wear Jumpsuits Rightly.
↓ 14. Casual Banquet Outfit
We don’t always have to wear the fanciest clothing items for the banquet. In case you are invited to a casual banquet, wear a simple white tee and jeans and pair it with a striped blazer for a quick and effortlessly charming look. Avoid wearing distressed jeans and hippy jeans styles. You can choose to upgrade the outfit with heels or go with flats for comfort. Carry a trendy neutral shade bag with the outfit.
Via
↓ 13. Winter Banquet Outfit
With winter outfits, the biggest advantage is that you can mix and match various prints and pieces together with all your artistic skills. Go a little out of your comfort zone and select pieces that are elegant and will look amazing together. You can work with a gorgeous pastel cardigan and pair it with a feminine skirt. You can choose to wear skinny jeans or some vibrant tights and grey boots to pull a great look together.
↓ 12. How to Wear Animal Print Dress
Between all the different dress options you might have to wear, don’t underestimate the animal print dress. Struggling with how to dress it up for a banquet? Go with a faux fur jacket for winter or a tailored black blazer for summer. You can add a wide black belt with silver embellishments to the mix and slip on a pair of black boots.
Via
↓ 11. High Low Dress
With a high low dress, you can add some excitement and sexiness to your dress. Go with dresses that have a slightly longer train and have an empire silhouette. A v-neck dress with cold shoulder sleeves is attractive for the banquet event and go for vibrant colours and prints for the high low dress. For a breezy and dazzling look, go with matching heels and vibrant earrings.
Via
↓ 10. Mix and Match Outfit
Go with your rebellious fashionista style when in confusion. There is a multitude of different items that go very well together that you already contain in your closet. Check out which prints will go well with each other and what colours will mix together effortlessly. With colourful and vibrant prints, go with low key accessories and footwear to bring attention to your dress.
↓ 9. Vibrant Maxi Dress
↓ 8. Sequin Skirt
If you have been finding moments to wear a sequins shirt for the longest time, grab the moment and wear it now! You don’t need to worry about the time of the event because it is perfect for day or night time. A midi sequin skirt is perfect for a banquet and you can pair it up with a micro polka dots shirt and ankle boots. To add more glamour to the outfit, wear some beautiful gold earrings and an oversized belt at the waist. Love wearing sequins? Then you wouldn’t want to miss out on these Sequins Wardrobe Essentials & 16 Ways to Wear Sequin Outfits.
↓ 7. Modest Dressing
If your religion and values call for modest dressing, there are a few ways you can turn everyday dresses into the perfect outfits for banquets. Wear a flared maxi dress and carry it with an embroidered cape in a similar colour. You can also pin yourself with a scarf or wear a lace kimono over your dress. For covering your head, go for a silk scarf as it has a beautiful shine to it and perfect for formal events.
↓ 6. Styling Tulle for Banquet
Tulle is just not child’s play and a tulle skirt is something you need to have in your wardrobe now. You can wear a black or neutral shade tulle skirt with a vibrant cardigan for winter, or a feminine lace blouse for summer. Go for hemline below the knees and strut around in some classy black heels. A faux fur purse would go well with a tulle skirt outfit and keep the accessories simple so that you won’t appear too over-the-top.
↓ 5. Glamorous Crop Tops
Crop tops for the banquet? Totally Yes! Cropped tops with flared long maxi skirts are just the best outfit option and can really be pretty easy to style. You can even pair up crop tops with your ethnic or traditional printed or embellished skirt for the event. Halter crop tops are best for formal events and keep the length of the top longer for a banquet because overexposing skin is not tasteful for the banquet.
↓ 4. A Vision in Black
If you want to make the most dramatic entrance, we suggest you go with a black dress. Black dresses are beautiful for night time events and you can flaunt any style of a black dress easily. With the black dress in the picture, you won’t have to do much in the department of accessories or footwear. Let the dress speak for itself.
↓ 3. Mixing Up Colors
Don’t fret too much while mixing up colours for a perfect look. Sometimes, colours mix together effortlessly. Start off with a pastel or neutral shade blouse or tee and go with a vibrant skirt and a blue embroidered blazer to make a chic statement. Black self-print leggings and black chunky boots will look nice with this outfit. Since red and blue is a really hot combination to try this year, here are some gorgeous Outfits To Wear With Red Pants.
Via
↓ 2. Accessories and Makeup for Banquet
Go with bold lips colours for the banquet and favour red, burgundy or purple for an instantly stunning look. Go with minimal eye makeup by finishing off with beige or taupe eye shadow and black liner. Go with a soft pink blush and only a slight touch of highlighter. You can choose to let your hair loose or tie it up in a graceful bun for the event.
In case you are appearing in the most glitzy and glam dress, it is better to opt for minimal accessories. However, if you want to dress up your look, go with some gold earrings, and even a statement necklace piece. Tie a belt around your waist for a more defining look for the banquet. Go for light handbags or crossbody bags that will give you a more elegant appearance.
Via
↓ 1. Footwear to Wear to Banquet
You can choose to wear flats or heels for the banquet, however, take care that you are wearing something fancy. You can either go with beautiful heels to give you a great look or printed flats for a graceful and comfortable look. Select your footwear according to the venue and the weather. Sometimes, it is wise to wear boots or covered flats for the winter banquet and heels to the summer banquet.

I’ll Always Protect You | Sweet Pea x Reader
Prompt: After walking back from River Vixen practice, some Ghoulies follow you back. The closest safe haven is your ex-boyfriend Serpent’s trailer.
Request status: Open
Warnings: profanity, mild violence
Tumblr media
The cold winter air whipped across your cheeks as you exited the main building of your high school. Other Riven Vixens exited into the parking lot of the high school, headed to their respective cars to go home for the night. However, since your car was in the shop, you didn’t have a car to drive and all of your friends that were Vixens were ordered by Cheryl to stay back for awhile. That being said, you’d have to walk home tonight.
You didn’t mind walking home--it definitely didn’t bother you. When you couldn’t drive, you walked to and from school all the time. Pulling your phone and some earbuds from your jean jacket pocket, you have one earbud in, listening to some music from your Spotify account and the other ear was left untouched. Even though you were trying to enjoy the walk home, you had to make sure you did it in a manner that was still safe. You needed to hear who and what was around you.
The one disadvantage of the walk home was the distance from Riverdale High. Riverdale High was two block from the center of the town. Your house was about a mile and a half away from the center of town, making it one of the last blocks before South Side territory emerged. As you continued to walk, there were other people here and there, but as you came closer to the tracks, less people were around. And that’s when they showed up.
Someone whistled from behind you as you heard a few footsteps following you behind. “Look what we got here, boys,” a voice calls. You ignored it. If you acknowledged the problem, it would make the situation worse. You just continued on your path. “Hey, princess! I’m talking to you!” the voice called again. Once again, you didn’t address the voices that called out for you.
But now, one of the three boys stepped in front of you, blocking your path. “You answer when someone is talking to you,” the boy says in front of you, arms crossed. You immediately identified them as Ghoulies--the difference between a Serpent and a Ghoulie was obvious. The tattoos was a defining factor and the use of studs was something rejected in Serpent attire. Not to mention, Serpents don’t go on hunts for innocent people at night. You had met a Ghoulie before, Malachai. But he wasn’t there; it was someone of his minions who you had seen on the streets of the South Side in passing. “Hold on a second,” the boy says. “Roy, take a look at this chic. She looks awfully familiar.”
The leader of that small group of three comes up to where his friend is standing and inspects you. Your heart sank to your stomach as the three boys blocked your path to get home, but you made sure they didn’t know how nervous you were. “Oh,” Roy speaks with a light laugh. “This is that Serpent, Sweet Pea’s chic. Ain’t that right, gorgeous?” Roy tilts your chin up with his finger as you smack it away. “Easy there. We’re only trying to have some fun. Where’s your boy toy? It’s not safe for girls like you to be out all alone at night. You could mix yourself up with some dangerous people,” he says with a sickening smile.
“For your information, he’s not my boyfriend. Not anymore at least,” you inform them with a huff. They were right about you and Sweet Pea dating. You were together for nine months before he broke things off. It wasn’t the worst break up, but it wasn’t the best break up. You two came from two totally different worlds and it started to take a toll on your relationship. You heart broken when he told you that he thought it was best if you broke up, but it was about a month and a half later and you needed to move on. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have places to be,” you push past the Ghoulies. Of course, you weren’t going to walk home. If the Ghoulies followed you, they would know where you lived and that would be anything but good. Maybe if you were lucky you could stumble upon the Whyte Wyrm and Fangs or Toni would be there to cover you.
But before you could leave, a hand snatches your arm, pulling you backwards. You flinch at the contact as you retract back to the chest of a Ghoulie. “Hold on, now, miss. Who says we didn’t wanna have a little fun ourselves? You know that Sweet Pea has fucked us over a few times. It’s only fair that we do the same,” Roy whispers in your ear sloppily as you screw your eyes shut, too afraid to watch the situation.
Mustering up enough confidence, you speak, “And you think t-that attacking his ex-girlfriend is going to do the trick?” Your sarcastic remark earns you a forceful push to the ground, your knees scrapping the dirt, cutting them open to let them trickle blood.
There are a few laughs from behind before another Ghoulie lifts you up, tying your arms back. You try to wiggle out of his grip, but his grip only grows vice like. Roy cracks his knuckles before stroking your cheek mockingly. “Such a shame,” he coos. “Such a pretty face.” With that, he pulls out a small pocket knife out of his pocket. The blade teasingly strokes your jaw as you clench your jaw in order to hide your fear.
You calm your nerves before hurling all of your weight backwards, causing the Ghoulie who held you back to topple over as you fall dead onto him. You can hear a crack as his body hits the ground, signaling he broke something. He yelps in pain as you are set free from his grip. As fast as you can, you make a run for it, away from the gang members. There are voices that chase after you, speaking that you wouldn’t make it to the other side. You were too slow and too naive. Little did they knew that in those eight months of dating Sweets, you knew all hidden pathways in the South Side.
Making a sharp left, then hooking right, you dodge your way through the hidden paths that all lead back to one place. Sunnyside Trailer Park. That was Serpent territory. If you were there, you knew you would be safe. The voices of the Ghoulies soon started to fade out as you relax. Looking around you, you take in Sunnyside and memories come flooding back into your memory. As you stand there reminiscing, you can still hear footsteps. Your anxiety kicks back in as you quickly scan the trailer park. One idea pops into your head and you know that it’s a shitty idea, but if it means staying out of trouble and alive, then damn it you were taking that risk.
You pound on the trailer door and shortly after it opens. “Y/N?” Sweet Pea asks, completely shocked. “Why are you---what are you doing here?” Not letting him finish his interrogation, you run into his trailer, catching your breath. “My God, what the hell happened? You’re all dirty and your knees...What happened?”
“I was walking back,” you start a little shaky, struggling to calm your anxiety. “from Vixen practice and there were Ghoulies. They knew who I was because they know you and they tried to jump me and-”
“You’ve said enough. Come on,” Pea takes your jacket off of your body. “You’re safe here. Don’t worry. Calm down.” He places his hands on your shoulders, looking into your eyes. His stare instantly calms you down as your breathing becomes regular with a steady rise and fall of your chest. “I’m sorry that happened.”
“It’s not your fault,” you tell him, shaking your head. “I should have just waited for Betty or someone to drive me home.”
Sweet Pea just shakes his head and the two of you stay in silence for a little while. He then speaks, “Let’s get you cleaned up. You shouldn’t be staying in dirty clothes.”
You try to object, but Pea is already running a hot shower. The sound itself is hypnotizing you and you crave shower more than anything rise now to soothe you. “Thank you,” you tell him as he smiles.
He smiles lightly, “Shampoo and stuff is the same place it always is.” You lightly smile at his comment, knowing that he hasn’t changed one bit. The bathroom looks the exact same with the drab gray shower curtains and cheap Dial soap. The scent of it brings back memories of when you spent your first night at his place. He was not used to have girls staying over like this. He was used to girls coming in and out, not bothering to stay. But you two were much different.
After your shower, you wrap yourself in his not so fluffy towels, but you were still thankful that Sweets let you do all of this. You had shown up like a whirling dervish and he just went along with it with open arms. “I left some clothes outside the door for you,” Pea calls from the other room. “Your other clothes are in the wash.”
Stepping outside the bathroom, you call down the small hallway. “Pea, you don’t have to do this. I’m sure I can call Toni and she can drop things off for me,” you tell him, pulling the towel tighter around your body as if Pea hasn’t seen what’s underneath.
But Sweets shakes his head. “Don’t worry about it. I don’t mind.” You thank him again before grabbing the clothes he had set on the floor. You quickly change into boxers and his t-shirt. The clothes smelt of him and your heart skips a beat. His scent was very distinct unlike any guy you have met before. He smelt of leather and a clean cologne--the combination was unlikely, but pleasant pair.
You emerge from the bathroom, hair pulled back in a low bun. “Thank you for doing this, Pea. It means a lot.”
“Of course. Listen, Y/N, I know that we haven’t talked in awhile, but you know I’m always here for you. I’ll always protect you,” he tells you.
Smiling softly at him, you shake your head. “The same goes for you,” you tell him and he shares the same smile. “I better get going. I don’t wanna take up any more of your time. I’m gonna call a friend to pick me up.”
He stands from the couch. “What?” he asks. “No, Y/N. Don’t be ridiculous. You can stay here for the night.” You tell him it’s fine and that you can go home. You had the house to yourself; your parents were on a business trip. “I’m not letting you go back out there with another North Side kid who probably can’t defend themselves like you can. I don’t need someone else getting hurt tonight. You stay here, okay?”
Huffing, you speak, “I don’t want to be a burden.”
“You’re never a burden. Don’t talk like that,” he tells you as you nod your head. “You take the bed. I’ll take the couch.”
“Oh come on. I’ll take the couch, you sleep in your bed,” you tell him, handing him back the pillow he had just give to you.
But he pushes it back into your hands. “You need to sleep well tonight. You take the bed. The couch gives me better back support anyway,” he smiles as you shake your head with a smile. “Goodnight, Y/N.”
You walk to Pea’s bedroom. “Sweet dreams,” you call back.
The exchange between you two makes Pea’s heart flutter a bit. Goodnight, Sweet Dreams was something you had said to each other when you were dating. It was a very sentimental thing. Almost as if to say ‘I love you’ without saying those words.
Maybe two hours go by and you are stuck looking at the ceiling of Pea’s bedroom. You can’t sleep. It was half because of the events of the night and the other half was the fact you were in your ex-boyfriend’s bed without him next to you. Instead, you had to lay there, smelling his scent on his clothes that were draped on your body and the sheets that you were wrapped in. It was like sensory overload. You couldn’t take it. You couldn’t take it so much that you didn’t even control yourself from stopping to get up to go to Sweets.
“Pea?” you call from the doorway.
He groans in response, “Mhmm?”
“I can’t sleep,” you sound like a toddler. “Could you-” you stop yourself, but then you complete your sentence, knowing you’ll regret it when the words slip from your lips. “Could you come in with me?”
At your question, Pea’s heart stops. He doesn’t know what to do. If he said no, he’d seem like a dick. If he said yes, he’d seem like he was desperate. Truth be told every fiber in his body hopped up when you called out for his name. Sweets just calms himself down before speaking, “Sure.” You deserved to have a good night sleep and if this is was how you’d get it, Pea was more than happy to help.
You slink back into his bed and he climbs in with you. The two of you don’t know what to do. Two months ago, he would have wrapped his arms around you, planting a kiss to your forehead, telling you how much he loved you. But now, he lay on his back, staring at the ceiling, mimicking your actions. There is a large silence between the two of you before you speak, “I’m sorry this is so awkward.”
He laughs, “It’s cool. It’s cool.” Again, that awkward silence. The silence allows thoughts that haven’t crossed your mind in weeks to reappear. In this moment, you craved his touch, the feeling of his skin on yours. You missed the way he traced circles on your hips lazily as you snuggled into his chest. You missed him. You want to tell him all of it, but you are far too scared.
Pea on the other hand is doing his best not to scoop you in his arms and pull you into his chest, saying how much he regrets leaving you in Pop’s on that sunny Saturday afternoon.
But no words needed to be spoken between the two of you. The two of you knew each other well enough to read body language. Instead of speaking, you turn to him, sliding over to cuddle into the warmth of his chest. Pea relaxes at your touch, pulling you in closer to him. He sighs softly at the contact before resting his head on the top of yours. No words were spoken for the rest of the night. No words were needed to be spoken.
The next morning, you wouldn’t talk about it. You’d just thank him for taking care of you and leave with Toni. He’d just watch you leave, he wouldn’t stop you to tell you everything he wanted to say last night. He’d just smile and tell you that you were welcome again at anytime. And he hoped that you would remember.

You're reading: The Best Winter Wedding Guest Dresses That Are Seasonal and Stylish
With so many seasonal dresses in stores and online, it can be overwhelming to choose what to wear to a winter wedding. Winter wedding guest attire often includes dark hues, rich fabrics and longer sleeves. But there are other things to consider when choosing a winter wedding guest dress, like the formality of the affair, your budget and your taste. You may want to rock the trendiest number on the market or go with a timeless cocktail dress. No matter your personal style or that of the wedding—from black tie to dressy casual —we’ve taken the guesswork out of deciding what to wear to a winter wedding. Here, we’ve rounded up the best winter wedding guest dresses on the market, as well as our top tips for narrowing down your outfit search.
What to Wear to a Winter Wedding
Before you start shopping, it’s important to know the etiquette behind what to wear to a winter wedding. Winter wedding outfits should be fit for the occasion—the weather and the dress code of the event should both help dictate what you wear. An upscale evening winter wedding will require a formal outfit, while a casual look is acceptable for a less formal daytime event.
When browsing winter wedding guest dresses, don’t forget to shop practically. While you might want to wear a slinky mini dress or an off-the-shoulder gown, consider how the weather might affect your fashion choices. A cozy wrap or shawl can easily winterize a look while keeping you warm, so consider investing in a coverup for all of your winter events. Fabric and color are also two important components of your winter wedding guest outfit. Deep jewel tones and rich fabrics like velvet and satin are great choices for weddings in cooler months. And when it comes to length, more fabric may help you stay warm, but don’t count out sleeveless outfits altogether. If you love to spend time on the dance floor or chatting it up with other guests, you might be more comfortable in a short-sleeve or sleeveless option.
To help you find a great winter wedding guest outfit, we’ve rounded up our favorite styles on the market. Keep reading to find our favorite winter wedding guest dresses, from formal gowns to casual frocks and trendy jumpsuits.

Although I can’t say that I’m as excited for the Simplicity release as I was for the Burda preview, I do think there is more of interest here than there was from the recent fall Vogue release.  The Simplicity fall patterns have a lot of costumes and crafts, but also a fair number of more stylish fall fashions.  There’s a lot to cover, so let’s take a look:
8733 – I know I’ve pretty over the whole sleeve trend, but I actually think the proportions here are really perfect.  The dress has just enough shaping, and the perfect amount of volume on the sleeve.  I’m not that wild about the crazy floral appliqué, but otherwise I’m really enjoying this pattern.
8734 – I also think this dress is really pretty, though I have to be honest with myself and admit that I don’t need to add it to my collection.  I do like that it has multiple back dart options for the curvier among us, and I think the placement of the darts and pleats has a very flattering effect.
8735 – There are already so many wrap dress patterns on the market, but this one has added princess seam shaping through the bodice, so that really could be a great feature that makes it worth adding another wrap dress pattern to the collection.  I might wait for reviews of this pattern before I buy it, but I’d be really curious to know how well the added shaping through the bust works to assist with the fit.
8737 – View D intrigued me in the drawings, but I’m really not as impressed with the model photos, so this one is probably a pass for me.
8738 – Of course, I’m having the opposite reaction to this pattern.  The line drawings look so boring, but the model photo makes the sweater look so cozy I can’t help but want to make one (or three) to live in during the winter.
8739 – I feel like they are trying to elevate a poncho to business attire, and it just isn’t happening here.  At the end of the day, there is just something innately casual about wearing a giant blanket as a piece of clothing, even with pockets.
8740 – I’m torn on this cardigan sweater.  The line drawings look really great, but it has just too much volume and bath-robe-ish-ness going on with the model.  Perhaps in a different fabric I’d be more into it?
8741 – This could be cute if you wanted a really simple jacket, but I think I’ve got enough similar patterns in the stash already.
8742 – I’ve really been into the idea of a longer, loose coat for this year, and I’m finding myself intrigued by this pattern.  I know I’ve got similar in the stash already that I could easily modify, but for some reason this pattern is really calling to me.
8743 – Another pattern I don’t need, but oddly really want.  I mean, how pretty are these skirts?  I know it’s a basic circle with a waistband, but, again, so pretty!
8744 – I don’t need another pattern for a basic trouser with slant pockets, but if you don’t have one, the AmazingFit line could be a good place to start.
8745 – Nothing too exciting with these easy-to-sew skirts, but the asymmetric seam detail at least prevents it from being totally boring.
8746 – I do find myself really liking this wrap skirt, especially the photographed view with the leather buckle detail.
8748 – This Threads wardrobe collection is a pass for me.  The silhouettes are all a bit too large and boxy, and there aren’t really any super unique pieces here.
8749 – I do like this new Mimi G. pattern though!  The coat looks super chic and the trousers are really nice as well, especially if you are looking for a really slim fit.
8750 – I’m even more excited by this pattern from Mimi G!  I want that top in my wardrobe, like, yesterday, and the snap pants are a really cool take on the recent athleisure trend.
8751 – I’ve yet to find a pattern from the Pattern/Hacking line that I really like; I find the silhouettes to be too basic and the “hacks” to be really simple modifications.
8752 – Another pattern/hacking piece I’ll pass on.
8753 – I am excited to see this men’s shirt pattern with 3 types of fit.  I feel like guys are very particular about their button ups, and this could help you accommodate a lot of tastes.
4178 – 1960s Vintage Accessories.  The berets are super fun!
8731 – 1950s Vintage.  I feel like I like the dress and the coat, but I don’t like either enough to get the pattern.  I’m still enamored with the vintage swing coat Simplicity came out with a while ago (8509), and this pattern just doesn’t compare in terms of drama, so I think I can safely give it an appreciative pass.
8732 – 1950s Vintage. Another dress I like, but, not enough to want to make. I think I have other 50s reprints that are similar, so I don’t feel the need to add this to the collection, but it is pretty.
8736 – 1940s Vintage.  I do like the look of these 40s blouses, but I’m not a fan of back buttons, so, another pass.  Super pretty though.
8747 – 1950s Vintage.  I will be adding this 50s pattern to my wishlist though; that jacket with the little peplum is so cute!  I really like the look of the skirt too.
8762 – 1950s Vintage.  I’m not much of an apron pattern collector, but I do think the options here are really cute, and view A looks super practical.
8754 – This kids sweater pattern could be a great investment; the little hoodie is super cute!
8755 – These dresses aren’t as exciting, but they look like they could be a quick sew.
8756 – Not sure how excited kids would be to wear a poncho, but the leggings looks pretty cool.
8757 –  I’m guessing this is supposed to be one of those easy patterns that will draw people into sewing?  I’m not excited by it, but I suppose there’s a market for it?
8758 – I feel like this would be more worthwhile if it had more than a single organizer included in the pattern.
8759 – I can’t speak to how practical these baby clothes are, but, they seem to be pretty representative of what I see babies wearing?
8760 – Not my favorite toy pattern, but not bad if you want to get a more cutesy vintage looks.
8761 – These looks really simple – possibly even no sew?  I’m more interested in making 3D objects if I’m crafting with fabric, but this could be a good craft for kids perhaps.
8763 – Not too excited by these dress/apron/vest/pant patterns.
8764 – The kids version of the quilting cotton suit.  Actually pretty adorable.
8765 – And we jump into the costume patterns.  You have to admit, that baby sloth is fraking adorable.
8776 – The only reason Burda trumps this is because the Burda one is for adults.
8777 – Can’t say I see the value in a single leggings pattern for kids (especially if it isn’t drafted to have a crotch gusset) when there are so many other options available.
8766 – Generic kids Halloween staples.
8767 – Even easier kids Halloween costumes.
8774 – Can’t go a year without releasing a poodle skirt.
8775 – Same for the adults.
8773 – Clowns.  Terrifying.
8772 – I am really enjoying this Día de los Muertos collection.  It really should have come out after Book of Life, but I’m surprised it took this long post-Coco to be released.
8771 – And, of course, the not-Game of Thrones–Game of Thrones cape collection.  Do I need it?  No.  Am I getting it?  Yes.
8770 –  To be fair, though, these capes are much cooler (and also much more fabric-intensive).
8768 – Really love this Cersi inspired gown.
8769 – This, however, has got to be my favorite costume release in the whole collection.  So stylish!  And really fun to customize to different characters and cosplays.
And that’s it!  If you have a really sizable pattern stash, there probably isn’t too much here that feels really unique or special.  I’m not seeing a lot that makes me excited about new styles or trends coming this fall.  But I do feel like this release is full of patterns for clothes I want to wear, which does say something for the release as a whole.  I’m definitely finding more here that’ll go on my wishlist for the next pattern sale than I was seeing in most of the other recent releases, so there is that.  What do you all think?  Is this release full of so many basics you can’t be bothered?  Or does a nice cozy sweater and basic wrap dress sound like the perfect projects for fall?  Feel free to discuss in the comments!

KNOW YOUR BLAZERS WELL
Learning how to rock a comfortable blazer necessitates a trip down memory lane. A lane that commenced in 1837 when young Queen Victoria paid her first visit to HMS Blazer, the then Royal Navy ship. The ship captain instructed the crew to style themselves in navy blue double-breasted jackets over their striped seamen’s sweater for the royal inspection. The look and the name of the look stayed around since.
Tumblr media
So, we suppose if the blazer is good enough for Her Majesty, it will ultimately be ideal even for your regular style arsenal. Despite its widespread popularity, the tailored jacket has a remarkable amount of flexibility, being louche and lax enough to be deemed casual when the occasion calls for it.
Now when we hear blazers, the standard idea that pops into our head is a formal clothing item. Well, that might not be completely false. It is a fashionable formal attire, but with the hybridization of new trends, it can be a casual partner for your out-of-office events. Don’t believe us? We’ve put together a complete guide on the standard rules of styling the casual blazer outside formal environments.
It’s all about dressing things down for casual occasions, giving you a look that’s always stately and tidy but more comfortable and trendy. Never a commoner, always a king! Check out the complete guide to KNOW YOUR BLAZERS WELL.
The Rules Of Wearing A Blazer
There are a lot of blazer misdemeanors floating around men’s style interstellar space these days. So to ensure that you don’t face any such faux pas, let’s review the basic rules to wear a blazer.
Don’t Wear Your Suit Pieces
Wearing a suit jacket is one of those meticulous moments that might go unnoticed by most, but the connoisseurs will know and tell. Suit jackets might look perfectly normal on the hanger, but still, due to their finishing and structure, it is noticeable when they have been separated from their ensemble. So, if you don’t want to obstruct the casual aesthetic, lay your mind on styling or throw out the entire look in vain. Separate your ensemble tuxedos from your blazers.
Select a Blazer Shorter Than Your Body
According to the conventional rule of thumb surrounding blazers, the hem of your jacket must hit around your thumb knuckle (joint between the end where your thumb and palm joint meet). Furthermore, similar to a good lawyer the blazer must cover your ass but shouldn’t be too long. The common logic behind this rule is if you wear a blazer that is too long for length, it will look highly untidy and uncouth. Trench coats and shrugs don’t abide by these rules.
Your Blazer Fit Should Accommodate Additional Layers
In contrast to blazers, suit jackets are designed to accommodate one shirt or two layers of shirt and waistcoat underneath it. However, blazers are tailored to allow people to layer it whichever way they wish. These blazers prove to be a godsend when the cold weather arrives because you can simply add several layers beneath your blazers (including knitwears).
Play With Different Colors, fabrics & Patterns
Grey and black are not the only colors available in the blazer market. But ever wondered why people always wish to opt for these colors? The simple logic here is that they want something which is fail-proof. If you belong to that section of people, we suggest you shouldn’t be afraid; instead, be brazen and innovative, as this is often what distinguishes decent style from genuinely remarkable fashion. Bold block color blazers, timeless prints and patterns like stripes and checks, and a variety of fabrics from linen to velvet are all on the menu. If you go this path, the blazer should be the focal point, so keep the rest of your outfit simple and include a blazer that marks a difference.
Have More Than One In The Wardrobe
This rule works hand in hand with the rule mentioned above. Here, if you wish to try out all designs, brands, and styles, you need to have a perfect collection of blazers in your closet. If you have only one, there might be different ways to style it, but the style will go out of trend at the end of the day if you wear it all the time. So, we suggest that you must include several blazer pieces to keep your wardrobe ready for every occasion. Now people always come up and say that the pieces they wish to buy are pretty expensive; if you feel that too keep an eye on the store and stock your clothes when the sale arrives or keep reading below to find the most inexpensive gorgeous pieces for your blazer wardrobe.
Know Your Men’s Blazer Types
Blazers for men are the sharpener to every outfit. It allows you to assert your personal style and panache to create a restrained look yet ultimately classy. But remember, no matter what you choose, knowledge is the key. Check out the most common blazer types available in the market to select the best for yourself.
Cotton
Summer blazers are most often made of cotton because this light and airy fabric will drape beautifully over the shoulder, down the chest to the hips. When these outfits have shoulder pads or are unstructured, they hold their form well. Cotton feels cool in every color, single or double-breasted, but remember cream, white, navy, and charcoal can make your appearance somewhere in your blazer canon. You can style them well with denim or colored chinos and ace the casual, formal look with sneakers.
Wool/Blend
Wool is a high-quality blazer fabric that is ideal for the transitional seasons of autumn and spring. The ultimate classic is a navy wool blazer, but it’s far from the only choice. Its dark and neutral color will make your personality instantly chic, avoiding every scope of randy-isms. Wool is blended in both high-end (cashmere, silk) and low-end (polyester, cotton, elastane) fabrics, giving you a choice in terms of price as well as the feel and movement of your blazer. We suggest that you must select a blazer that looks and feels well when it hovers over your body.
Tweed
Tweed is a heavyweight fabric that is often best suited for the last frost that hits your town. Tweed is a practical yet highly fashionable way to stay shielded from the windy winter. People usually get fooled by the old English chap character who wears this jacket and perceives it as the yesteryear style. Believe us, tweed blazers are entirely modern, particularly when you wish to add texture to a flat monochrome outfit. So tweed out your style this winter.
Linen
The linen blazer is all about summer, and it’s perfect for a casual summer soiree where you’ll be sweating in wool or cashmere. Linen fabric is exceptionally lightweight and cool, and it can be charmingly stylish when played out correctly. So roll up your sleeves, pop up your collar, and follow the advice. Remember that unstructured linen blazers look great with summer-white trousers and an open-necked shirt. You can empower your entire attire with sockless loafers and a witty pocket square. All set to shake on the ground at the next event!
Color Block
Summer is an ideal time to showcase your best, boldest A-game. Now, if you aren’t ready to dive into the daring side of your color palette, you can efficiently work your way up. The best option is to keep the look neutral and push the envelope with a patterned shirt. It can and will most certainly be an outstanding option.
Also, don’t miss catching on to accessories. Style a beaded bracelet in a tone drawn for the color (if your jacket is sharp). A pocket square in a darker hue of your jacket will be the second perfect choice for when you add stability and cohesiveness to your look.
Patterns and Checks
When it comes to patterns, the list of options and styling tips is literally never-ending. There are so many patterns that will look fashionable regardless of the season you wish to style them in. Stripes, on the other hand, are a preppy, classic alternative with a long history. Checks are also a great way to make any outfit stand out. There’s no reason to stick to conservative designs; go confidently wherever your mind takes you.
Structured & Unstructured
Structured and unstructured blazers are the ultimate tests of whether you will create a casual look or will fail with formal. Now, the reason why this distinction is essential to consider is that a structured blazer will provide you a straight-laced, sharp, and clean-cut demeanor. However, an unstructured blazer will look softer, more flexible, and highly comfortable. Therefore, if you wish to add complete flexibility to your style, you must own pieces of both structured and unstructured blazers in your closet.
Shop The Look
Next up, you need to know from where you can buy unique jackets and tuxedos. You definitely can go buy blazers from D&G, but only after one purchase, you wouldn’t want to try it again. HOW TO DRESS CLASSY – 7 STYLE TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW
HOW TO DRESS CLASSY
Is it time for you to change up your style? Add a bit of sophistication and class to your everyday outfits? Maybe you have a new job and need some new classy business casual attire, perhaps you’ve moved to a new city, or maybe you just need a change to represent who you have become. Are you wondering how to make that transition and how to dress classy? I’ll walk you through the ins and outs of styling yourself with a more sophisticated, chic, and classy style that you can wear for years to come (or the rest of your life!).
Classy styling is timeless. The navy shift dress and camel-colored pumps you buy today will still be wearable ten years from now. Buying one good pair of pearl stud earrings outweighs the 10 pairs of trendy statement earrings that will be passé a year after you buy them. Having a sophisticated and classy style means that you can wear your outfits to work, Sunday brunch, a city shopping trip, or traveling the world. You can even go sailing while rocking a classy look!
Creating classy outfits is about putting together crucial elements and making sure your style and confidence also shines through. So if you are ready to delve into a new classy look and answer the question of how to dress classy, let’s get started.
DEFINE AND KNOW YOUR PERSONAL STYLE
Personal style is something that each of us has; we just have to identify it, understand it, and then live it. It projects your mood, personality and you as a whole, reflecting your interests, lifestyle, inspirations, and your past.
When you find your personal style you know you look great and feel confident when you leave your home. Whether you prefer bohemian, street, high fashion, minimal or classic, you can make your style look classy when the occasion calls for it.
I hear many women say that they don’t have a personal style or they don’t know what their own style is. Whenever I hear this, I recommend that they take a look at their closet. If you’re trying to find your personal style here is a quick tip that you can do right now. Take out your favorite pieces from your wardrobe. Lay on your bed the clothing you wear over and over again and look for patterns. Is it mainly solids or patterns, bright or neutral colors, dresses or pants, flirty or conservative?
Which category do you see your clothing fitting into? Is your clothing learning towards more free-spirited, maybe bohemian? Or is it filled with solids in black, white, and navy in sleek lines and perfect fits? Then it could be minimalistic.
Typically, classic and minimalist styles will look classy all the time. Classic and minimalist styles usually learn towards neutral color palettes, shapes, fabrics which make it easier to put together classy outfits. But don’t think just because you prefer bohemian or street style that dressing classy is out of the question.
THE 7 BASICS OF CLASSY STYLE
#1 WEAR ITEMS THAT ARE MADE OF CLASSIC FABRICS
Classic, timeless clothing made of materials that will last well into the next decade is what you should be looking to add to your essential wardrobe. Think cotton, wool, linen, and silk. These four basic fabrics will stand the test of time if cared for properly. Cleaned and pressed, items made of these fabrics tend to give off a classy vibe all on their own.
These fabrics also have variations that allow you to expand on your wardrobe. Denim is one example of a cotton fabric that cuts across all style lines, from street to boho to minimalist. Similarly, chino cotton works excellent in pants, blazers and even moto jackets (for the street style in you!). Then there is cashmere, a type of wool that feels heavenly against the skin and doesn’t pill with age. Cashmere sweaters, whether they are cardigans, V-necks, or crewneck pullovers pair perfectly with those denim jeans, as well as tailored pants and skirts.
A word to the wise with these fabrics: Read the labels and care for them properly to make them last. While wrinkle-free cotton has become more available, most cotton items will need to be ironed. (Classy outfits are not wrinkly!) Wool, linen, and silk often have to be dry-cleaned or hand-washed. Make a mistake, and you may have to give your 6-year-old-niece that wool cardigan that was a staple in your wardrobe but shrunk in half thanks to your dryer.
#2 IF IN DOUBT WEAR SOLID NEUTRALS
Bold patterns and prints can definitely work in a sophisticated and classy look, but you may not be comfortable with such patterns if you are just beginning on your classy style journal. Neutrals are your friend in this case. Solids are plentiful in the stores (and probably your closet), easily combined, and help to stretch your wardrobe.
Typical neutrals are white/beige/cream, navy blue, black, and gray. Now, don’t think you have to dress head-to-toe in black (or other neutral). Monochromatic (different shades or tints of the same color) allow you to vary a color but remain classy. Or you can add small accents that can transform a solid into something eye-catching, like a skinny burgundy alligator belt, a paisley scarf, or a pair of red pumps. Want to know more about monochromatic dressing? Make sure to read What is Monochromatic and How to Wear a Monochromatic Outfit.
#3 FIT IS KEY
Classy and sophisticated clothing is typically tailored and form-fitting (not too tight, but you can show off your figure). Skirts should hit just above or below the knee, as should your classy dresses. Classic trousers are straight, slightly wide, faintly bootcut, or menswear-inspired and should be ½-inch off the floor in the back. Wide-leg pants and skinny pants in classic fabrics are also acceptable, as are ankle pants (shades of Audrey Hepburn!). Blazers, blouses, and sweaters should follow the curve of your waist.
Do not hesitate to take items to a local dressmaker or tailor to be altered to fit correctly. Love that shift dress at Nordstrom, but it’s too big in the bust? That’s a $15 fix. Are those gray wool pants in your closet too long for classic 3-inch pumps or do you want to wear them with flats? Another $10-15 fix. Remember, good quality clothes will last you for 10+ years, and it is a small price to pay for alterations. Beats having to replace cheap pants every three years.
Not everything you wear has to be perfectly tailored and form-fitting. You can mix in unstructured pieces for a more relaxed vibe. Pair a blue-striped t-shirt with chinos and a denim jacket or a flowy maxi skirt with a crisp white button-down shirt (roll up those sleeves for added panache!).
Here is an example of how to wear a jumpsuit, and in this outfit, I opted for solid neutrals and paired a structured blazer with a flowy jumpsuit.
#4 NEVER OVEREXPOSE
Dressing classy requires a bit of modesty — no midriff-baring tops, revealing low décolletage, or mini skirts.
Necklines are typically collared, boatneck, crew neck or V-neck. For some variety, you can also try square, cowl, and scoop necks. For more formal occasions, asymmetrical, sweetheart and halter necklines work as well. Regardless, keep your cleavage and your belly button covered. Additionally, armholes on blouses and dresses should not reveal your bra.
As noted above, hem length on skirts and dresses should be just above or below the knee for everyday wear, with slightly shorter and full-length appropriate for summer events or classic formal wear. You can look stylish and sexy without showing too much skin.
#5 DON’T GO OVERBOARD WITH ACCESSORIES
Simple jewellery is the best way to go when aiming for a classy and sophisticated style. My recommendations are:
Earrings: small silver or gold hoops, pearl or diamond studs.
Bracelet: silver or gold bangles (one heavy or several delicate), tennis bracelet, watch (gold or silver with metal or leather band).
Necklace: Long pendants, pearls, diamond solitaire, cross.
Ring: Not necessary, but if you do, go either delicate or statement. Thin bands, diamonds, or heirloom rings are fine, and everyone should have one cocktail ring to wear to events or dress up your jeans. Stick to ring and/or middle fingers only.
Scarf: Scarves are a great way to add color and visual interest to a sophisticated outfit. Particularly if the scarf is bright or with an interesting pattern, again, cotton, silk, and wool are the best fabric options. Try multiple colors and fabrics, with light silk or cotton for spring and thicker wool ones for winter. Florals, paisleys, stripes, and solids are great options. If you need more outfit inspiration make sure to check out: Ways to Wear a Scarf & How to Tie a Scarf: The Definitive Guide.
And don’t forget your shoes. Yes, shoes are an accessory! Pumps, slingbacks, ballet flats, or boots in solid neutrals, such as cream, navy or black, are your best bet. All go with a multitude of outfits, meaning you won’t need to break the bank for a closet full of shoes.
But don’t think that you can’t be daring with your shoe choices, every woman should own a red pair of shoes, and it never hurts to have an animal print to make an outfit pop a bit. (Think leopard print flats with khakis or denim.)
#6 STYLE YOUR HAIR
Now that we’ve covered colors, fabrics, fit and accessorizing let’s move on to your hair! I can’t say this goes without saying because I want to include all the basics. Make sure you style your hair. If you’re wondering how to dress classy and give the appearance of sophistication make sure you spend a little bit of time styling your hair.
If you’re short on time in the mornings or don’t like styling your hair opt for an easy haircut or a haircut that you can quickly put up. By stylish and chic hairstyles I mean a sleek bun or ponytail. I have a lot of hair, and it’s pretty long so if I want to look stylish, I know I need to spend at least 30 minutes on it if I want to wear it down. But the hairstyle I turn to when I don’t want to spend a long time on my hair is a sleek low bun.
Find a hairstyle that is easy for you to style every day and one that you love as well!
#7 MAKEUP MAKES A DIFFERENCE
You’ve made it to the last point on how to dress classy! Yay, thank you for making it here. I left this one for last because, to be honest, it’s the one I have the most trouble with. I don’t often “do” my makeup, and this point is one that I continually work on. If you are like me and don’t spend much time on your makeup focus on these three things that will make a difference in your classy look.
Eyes, checks, and lip should be what you focus on if you only have 5 minutes. Put on some mascara to open up your eyes, add some blush to bring some life and dimension to a face, and wear a bold lip to add a pop of color. These three things are subtle but make a huge difference to the completeness of your classy look.
YOU DON’T NEED A LOT OF MONEY TO DRESS CLASSY
Contrary to popular belief, classy outfits don’t have to break the bank. Yes, you can spend $200 on a designer-label button-down shirt, but you can also find one of comparable quality and appearance for $68 at Banana Republic, the Gap or Ann Taylor. And because classic, well-made clothing lasts for years, and even decades, you can often find good bargains at secondhand and thrift stores.
Invest in good quality basics that fit well, and that you can mix and match. Accessories—which are much cheaper than clothing—can help change up your looks and stretch those basics even further.
Like I mentioned on my first point about opting for classic fabrics, also look for classic shapes and forever classic closet staples. Don’t waste money on trendy pieces that you’ll only wear for a season.
KEEP A PRETTY MANI
Your hands and the jewelry on them are an extension of your wardrobe, and a reflection of the care you take with your appearance, especially if you are wearing a statement bracelet or ring that brings extra attention to those fingers.
Indulge in regular manicures, either at home or in a salon. Keep nails short to medium in length, opting for a nice round or oval shape, with clear or nude polish or a French manicure. Stay away from stiletto nails and bold or neon colors, as well as nail art and jewels.
NOTE: If wearing sandals or peep-toe shoes, a pedicure is a must. I find that a simple clear gloss or nude colors work best, but you can always go with a classic red or pink.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS
They say that the devil is in the details, and dressing classy is no exception. The trick to wearing sophisticated clothing is to keep everything neat, clean, and simple. Make sure that the clothes are flattering on you and colors and patterns are balanced.
All items should be free of wrinkles and color coordinated. Check for holes, loose threads, missing buttons, or a hemline that is frayed. Stick with neutrals with pops of color here and there. Don’t over-accessorize; stick with simple minimal jewelry like a pair of earrings and a watch or earrings and a pendant necklace.
Your hair and makeup also play a role in your overall look. Again, neat and clean. Stay away from metallic eyeshadows in loud colors, be careful not to overdo the blush or bronzer, and stick with a neutral or light lip.
HOW TO DRESS CLASSY AND YOUR PERSONAL STYLE
Dressing classy doesn’t have to be difficult, but it will take some time to meld your personal style with the new sophisticated way of dressing. Don’t automatically discount the clothing you already have in your closet. You may be able to integrate items in ways you didn’t think possible.
My style is more classic and minimalist but I do like to add color whenever possible. As you can see in this outfit post, I’m wearing a classy dress but with with a pattern that screams personality. The small pops of color don’t overwhelm the dress or me but add to my look.
This dress has all of the details I mentioned above, with the hem ending just above the knees, a crew neckline, and it’s form fitting but not tight. It has that classy shape but with a little attitude.
I’ve paired it with a red handbag, fun metallic pump, and minimal accessories: sunglasses, earrings and a dainty watch. Simple, elegant, sophisticated and this outfit perfectly reflects my personal style.
So take a look through that closet again. Maybe you can let the hem down on your favorite skirt or add a cuff to pants that are too long for your ballet flats. And that floral silk blouse? It will look great paired with a neutral skirt and matching pumps. You don’t have to completely give up your own style to be classy and chic, but it will require some effort and modifications.
Are you ready to make a classy transition? Remember classy doesn’t mean boring or without personality. Dressing classy means dressing elegant and sophisticated. It’s also timeless and elegant.
If you feel like you’re jumping from style to style and don’t have the wardrobe that represents where you are in your life then start integrating the style tips I mention in this post! Shop for pieces that you can wear longer than a season and remember that a good tailor is worth every penny.
I hope I have answered all your classy outfit questions and you now know more about how to dress classy. If I missed something leave me a comment and I’ll answer you directly!
