#i'm sorry to be that person but i find a lot of the general attitude towards the world cup in qatar so misdirected and misplaced#(and lowkey arabophobic while people are at it)#you do realise it's fifa right?#fifa is the problem#they are the ones who sold the world cup organization to two authoritarian regimes with no interest in football whatsoever in a row#and btw i didn't see as much of that energy four years ago for russia#or for china for that matter re: the olympics#and both of them btw are worse than qatar when it comes to the treatment of their citizens#but the difference is that china and russia are big countries#that china is (and russia was at the time) a much bigger international player#and i guess then the public opinion isn't as willing to jump on its high horse#so yeah that's my complaint of the western media trends of the moment
