okay wait a minute. are we absolutely CERTAIN that those are even all les amis' real (sur)names
#unsure how widespread the practice of having code/callnames was back in the day (1820s-30s)#but like. it would make sense would it not?#and it would explain the lack of prenoms#like okay. 'courfeyrac' is *probably* real#because of the de participle bit and also his contact with marius outside the abc context#I'd guess 'prouvaire' is real as well because of the whole jean/jehan thing#however we know for a fact that 'bossuet' is a nickname for lesgle/l'aigle/etc.#and there's a fair chance that 'feuilly' is an unofficially given name#anyways where was I going with this#les mis#les miserables#les amis#pigeon.txt#also: pardon the franglais je sais que 'les amis' wouldn't have the possessive in the form of s avec apostrophe en français
